This worked for someone
I had this problem for about six weeks. I was following this forum but was too unsure of what might happen to try the fixes that were suggested.
About two weeks ago I decided to delete the downloads.28.sqlitedb file (usingDiskAid(a free program), on a PC running Windows 7). The original downloads.28.sqlitedb was 936 KB. The new one that the system created is 80 Kb., and has stayed at about that size. After about four days I also deleted all the other contents of the Download folder. Ten days later and still no more problems. Downloads are much quicker, nothing greys-out (as was happening frequently before).
Everything has worked well since with no more error messages.
I am using an iPod 4G, iOS 5.1 (originally iOS 5.0). I do not have a manifest file, and as far as I know, have not had one. DiskAid can search the whole "hard drive" on the iPod.
Deleting downloads.28.sqlitedb and the contents of Downloads worked for me.

I keep getting an error message when I try to download iTunes on my new HP lap top
I've installed and uninstalled iTunes three times now and keep getting a message from the Apple iTunes Helper telling me that Apple application support was not found, and that Apple application support is required to run iTunes helper.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated.Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.) -
I keep getting an error message when I try to update the new soft wear..
What can I do to fix this?
What software are you trying to update?
Which update are you trying to apply?
And what exactly is the error message you keep getting?
Which macbook pro do you have? -
The message says "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (20)"
It also says that not all my stuff on my iphone is not authorised for the profile on my computer when it's all the same one.
I've noticed other posts satying to go to library> caches, to remove the apple store cache and re-start but I can't find a library or cache file on my mac (running OS X 10.9)
Can anyone help me pretty please?Hello Chad176

If you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then you can do so via this link and ask them for help (we are fellow users, we won't know why you are getting the message) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

keep getting an error message when doing a software update for 10.6.8
I've tried both ways but it does the same thing. I have iTunes v 10.3.1.
I get an error message before I try to install iTunes:
iTunes can’t verify the identity of the server “ax.itunes.apple.com”. The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “ax.itunes.apple.com”, which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway? -

I keep getting this error message when updating imovie "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (20). Does anyone know how to fix?
If you're having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
3 - try again.

Kind of hard to answer without some details such as iPhoto version and OS version. Are you signed into your Facebook account?

I keep getting an error message when trying to download itunes. It says it can't find "msvcr80.dll, but when I search for it on my computer it is there. My itunes was working just fine before I got the message to download the latest upgrade. I've not had any problems doing that before now, so don't really know what to do.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
