junk / spam - use your mail program's filters
keep one for private/personal and another for more business type
you send an email to someone who does have a problem or is auto-responding that in the past there were rogue email virus that would "collect' all the addresses in someone's address book.
now you have Facebook Twitter and others asking (and in some cases not even asking!) to "scan' (and store) your contacts - and then match your Fb 'friends and family' against.... theirs, and so on down the line. A diagram of social relationships and interactions. it gets to "6-degrees of Kevin Bacon" around the world.
Just send and add to junk filter. If it isn't YOU or from your contacts, put it in junk folder and go through.
Email is one place where there might be some value in 3rd party utility. Sometimes your ISP or email host will provide a way to pre-filter before it downloads. If junk, don't download, do not allow html, do not download images - they can come off web servers and tell that the email reached a real person and the IP address.

You could of course use Safari your default browser as a quick method of accessing gmail until you figure out the Firefox problem. (More than one browser may be used on a Mac or other computer).
Is this the only site you have problems with ? and does Safari work ok ?
Often this problem requires the page to be reloaded
* try pressing the shift key as you reload the page
Another problem is sometimes the cookies for that site need clearing

Toggle iMessage Off then On
Turning iMessage off then on again worked for my particular issue. You can do this by following these steps:
From the Home screen, open “Settings“.
Select “Messages“
Slide “iMessages” to off for about 3 minutes, then turn it back on.
Your iPhone will be re-registered and may clear up the duplicate text message notification problem.
Repeat Alerts Setting
There is a setting that repeats notifications which could cause this issue. Check it with these steps:
From the Home screen, open “Settings“.
Select “Notification Center“.
Choose “Messages“.
Ensure that the “Repeat Alerts” setting is set to “Once“.
Send & Receive Setting
Another setting that involves sending notifications to multiple numbers could be the issue as well. Check the following:
From the Home screen, open “Settings“.
Select “Messages“.
Choose “Send & Receive“.
Ensure that only your phone number is listed in the “You can be reached by iMessage at” area. If you have an email address or anything else listed, it could cause duplicate text messages.

I have several different gmail accounts, but on one account I get some messages twice, others only once.
I have contacted the primary sender, to make sure they only have one account for me.
Do I have something set to pull things down more than once? Original & duplicate always come in together.

I notice I songs in my iTunes library keep getting duplicated. A lot of them seem to be purchases I've made with my iTunes account. I have iTunes Match enabled, Cloud storage and have an iPhone 4S. Is it possible it's duplicating these items for some reason from my phone or the cloud?

Because someone's trying to mislead you into giving them your iTunes Store login information. Forward all such emails to [email protected] and then delete them.
If there's an actual problem with your iTunes Store account, you'll be told at the time you try to purchase or download something.

I keep getting duplicate photos when downloading from my card reader.

In my PSE11 Camera and Card Reader preferences I have checked "Copy new files only". Yet whenever I download a camera card that still contains photos that were previously downloaded, I end up with duplicate photos in PSE11.
I prefer to leave my photos on the camera card as a "backup" in case of a hard drive crash or other loss of data on the computer. Once the card is full I archive it.
Why do I get duplicates even though this setting makes it clear that I should not? It is very annoying having to look through my photo collection and manually delete dozens or hundreds of duplicate photos.

If you do not get a reply within three to five business days, report the issue to Apple here > Apple - Support - Mac App Store - Contact Support
Apple's policy states, "all sales are final" > TUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE -TERMS AND CONDITIONS but if you explain the error and you haven't received areply from the developer, it can't hurt to request a refund.
You're sure there's enough free space on the startup disk?

Why am I getting duplicate e-mails?

When opening e-mails on my iPhone, I find that I frequently see duplicate e-mails. This is not the case when I check mail on my iMac. It primarily happens when I receive e-mails from companies, not the individuals in my address book. I know it is not due to sender error, since I just sent myself an e-mail from work, and it shows up twice. Anyone know a fix for this?

This very same problem began for me today.
I had not seen this happen, but today, every new mail item from the AOL account appears in duplicate.
None of my other mail accounts do that -- just AOL. I had Entourage check the same AOL acount and it only grabbed one copy of each message, so this seems to be an iPhone-AOL thing.
Beyond that, I haven't figured out the fix, but I wanted to let you know that there's at least two of us with duplicate messages.

How do i get keychain off my computer!?!?! Ive tried absolutely everything, keychain won't reset itself. Ive done everything anyone has suggested in apple support. Keep getting pop ups, mail won't work any more, i can't do ANYTHING.

Every time i log into my computer, i get bombarded with pop ups asking me for numerous passwords, i enter the CORRECT ones in for my email accounts and they keep coming up, i cant do anything to get this off. Keychains suck i dont know why anyone would have made these.
I go to the keychain preferences in finder and i try to unlock the local items keychain but it wont because i dont know the password, ive tried any password it could possibly be and it wont go through. I also cant reset it becasue it says "invalid aegument" every time i try to do that in First Aid.
Everything anyone has said to do wont help. I cant even get my mail accounts to come online but they still work in my phone. I even downloaded the newest version 10.9 or whatever and it doesnt work. My mail accounts are all screwed up, so is icloud, and messages app i cant even use it. ive restarted my computer a million times so dont suggest that either.
Oh and for those of you who are going to tell me to go to /library/keychain or anything like that, my computer says that the file or folder doestn exist.

I keep getting the error "mail server unavailable" when trying to get email. I DO NOT have a Yahoo account.

I keep seeing discussions about this problem with Yahoo mail, and the solution posted has just been to set up the account as an IMAP account. Unfortunately I get this error with my email (Dreamhost hosted email on my own domain) despite already having it set up for IMAP.
Can anyone help?! This is driving me insane.
