I keep getting logged-off involuntarily

Something I've noticed lately that's annoying:
I find myself having to re-log-on repeatedly when I'm following discussions. It does not necessarily have to be a next-day thing. I find I can be involuntarily logged off in a matter of a couple hours or even minutes.
What's wrong?

Aloha bob
Please  don't misunderstand, I am NOT complaining about anything - especially anti-SPAM efforts. I have solved most all the problems that initially bugged me and tolerate the rest with the British stiff upper lip - even though my heritage is Irish
RE: the AutoReLoad methods... I am positive that the varmints new about it LONG before I did. I just researched it cuz I didn;t like gettin logged off after the BigSwitch. What? Has it been 2 months? If I thought I was lettin the cat out of the bag in any way I wouldn't have said a word. That said, IMHO, I really don't think time-out is designed to combat SPAM but to combat theft using other folks AppleIDs ("unattended devices in public places") - very good for that and agree whole-heartedly.
RE: THE post! Wow! What a discussion! I have to admit that I scanned most of it - but I'm a pretty good speed reader. The best suggestion was the simplest = https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6257026#25877879 and Demo's response right after = 0 points, LONG timer - 1+ points, NO timer. If there is already a 30 second timer, then make it 10 minutes - 30 minutes - 60 minutes - 3600 minutes!. Just for OPs. That would drive 'em nuts!
Still, best is to modify the 7 words you can't say on TV feature to automate sandboxing posts/replies to facilitate the Hosts' dirty job. Databases are very neat if one utilizes them properly.

    anybody know what this means?

    yep.
You have either two computers or a computer and router trying to use the IP 172.16.0.4
You will need to find out which one and change one of the devices to something else

  • I keep getting logged out when navigating lengthy threads on my website.

Each time I try to navigate off of a lengthy thread on my website I get logged out.
It often happens when I try to submits posts also.

    '''PLEASE HELP!'''
    This is OP again.
Can someone at least point me in the right direction?
    Would it be:
    A browser problem?
    A computer problem?
A website problem? (issue with FUD etc.)
I am using a dial up service *sigh* and I keep getting logged off more frequently
    than ever.
Like nearly ALL problems I have it's most likely a setting that I have screwed up.
Your help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you

  • Why does "Baskerville Regular" keep getting turned off?

Since upgrading to Mavericks, Baskerville Regular -- the font used by the Dictionary (V2.2.1/156) -- keeps getting turned off.  Result: when I open the Dictionary, all definitions etc. appear in bold.
All is fine if I open FontBook and turn Baskerville Regular back on again -- until I restart.  Then I have to do it over again.
The problem is on a per-user basis.  If I turn the font in on my account, stay logged in, and log in from another account, the font is turned off in that account.
Something’s turning it off.  Anyone know what?
    Thanks

It is probably related to your other post about being dropped off from the internet.

  • I keep getting booted off of my favorite site when I try navigating or posting.

After a Firefox update I cannot navigate my favorite website or make posts. I keep getting booted off and I must log log back in.
A system restore will fix the problem but I will get another update and then we are back to square one.

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    1. Clear Firefox's Cache
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    2. If needed, delete the site's cookies
Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    ''or''
right-click the page, choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Carefully remove the site's cookies individually, do NOT click remove "all" unless you really want to remove all your cookies (there is no undo for this dialog).
    Does that help?

  • I am having trouble connecting to my network all of a sudden. It is not an issue with the service/router. I keep getting kicked off and getting a ! in my airport... anyone know what's up with this?

I am having trouble connecting to my network all of a sudden. I am able to connect to other networks but not my own. It is not an issue with the service/router because other devices connect fine. I keep getting kicked off and getting a ! in my airport. Last time it happended I called apple and the suggested I wipe my HD and reinstall everything. I did and it did not work. One day I turned my laptop on and it connected no problem. Now it has kicked me off again. I tried resetting my IP address but that does not work either! Has anyone had this problem?

    Try this:
Apple menu / System Preferences / Network.
Click Location: and select Edit Locations..
Click + (plus sign), and enter a name for the new location - anything will do.
    Apply this.

  • I keep getting logged out of iCloud and iMessenger on my iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.3

I keep getting logged out of iCloud and iMessenger on my iPhone 5s. I have iOS 8.1.3, I've logged out of everything, restarted, logged back in, I've fully erased and reset the phone, I've done everything every blog has suggested and it is still not working properly.  I've even had to fully erase my iPad because it started acting as the primary device so I was not getting any messages on my iPhone.  I did update my password a while ago but even after that the phone and iPad were working fine, then within the last few month's I've been dealing with this issue.
Please help, I've literally tried every fix everyone has suggested on this subject and nothing is working.  I'm strongly tempted to change from an Apple device at this point.

Reset your phone - no data loss
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If that does not fix the problem - back up your phone to iTunes and restore as new
See if the problem is solved before you restore from backup or load any apps
    Please post your results

  • I keep getting kicked off of my wifi on my macbook pro.  It is the wifi in my house.  I get kicked off like every few minutes or so.  Why is this and how can I stop it?

I keep getting kicked off of my wifi on my macbook pro.  It is the wifi in my house.  I get kicked off like every few minutes or so.  Why is this and how can I stop it?

I think the other devices are fine.  I'm not sure.  It usually only happens like a couple days out of the week.  I do know that the network I'm using when I click on the wifi symbol at the top of my screen doesn't have a padlock on it.  It IS MY network that is at my house, but maybe that has something to do with it.

  • I keep getting kicked off of my wifi with my MacBook Pro but not with my IPAD?

I keep getting kicked off of my wifi with my MacBook Pro but not with my IPAD, what do I do?

    Hi, mmayers.
Sometimes a simple power cycle of the router can correct the issue that you are experiencing.  However, the issue could be a little more complex.  Wi-Fi routers need adjustments to settings periodically for optimized performance with the constant progression of wireless device technology.  Below, I have included two articles.  The first article will cover basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting.  The second article covers the recommended settings for current Wi-Fi access points.
