I keep getting notice of 3.6.17 update but it won't install on my mac

This has happened repeatedly in the last few days. I checked the Mozilla website to confirm it was legit and it acted like it was installing. But my version number is still 3.6.16 and I keep getting this annoying notice.

If you purchased from Newegg, im not sure why the Mac App store is involved. Did you have a previous version purchased from the App Store?
Is this an upgrade version or full version?
Have you contacted Newegg?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I keep getting MACDefender pop-up on my screen but I have not installed/downloaded etc. How can I stop this pop-up?

Any advice on how to block this pop-up? It asks to install/run scan etc but narturally I just click on the 'x' close window button.

Upgrading to Yosemite

Firstly, if you have 'Find My iPhone/iPad/iMac' enabled on any of your devices, turn it off.
Create a new email address, for example at Yahoo or Gmail, or anywhere convenient (or you can use an existing address as long as it has never been associated with an Apple ID).
Go to http://appleid.apple.com and click 'Manage your Apple ID'. Sign in with the current ID.
Where it says 'Apple ID and primary email address' and gives your current ID email address, click 'edit'.
Enter your new address and click 'Save changes'.
Now you will need to go to each of your devices and sign out in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud - 'Sign out' on a Mac, 'Delete this account' on an iOS device (this will not delete the account from the server).
Then sign back in with your new ID. Your iCloud data will disappear from your devices when you sign out, but reappear when you sign back in.
I re-iterate: before you start, turn off 'Find My Mac' (or whatever) or you will need the services of Support.

Did you downloaded and installed Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 through Creative Cloud.
After uninstalled them, Creative Cloud saying applications are "Up to Date" when not installed.
If this is the case then please perform the steps given in the help document.

I received the same error message after I had recently updated iTunes to 10.5.1 and I had wirelessly updated 13 apps. I had to go into iTunes and select Apps, on the bottom right it said I needed to update 13 apps. I updated the apps via iTunes and then synced again without an issue.

That is the activation lock. Your iPad will be useless unless you can remove it.
