I keep getting the "Cannot Connect To Find My Friends" alert

I keep getting the "Cannot Connect To Find My Friends" alert when trying to accept friends on Find My Friend. I have verified my Apple ID and reset my password. Still no luck. any suggestions...?

What finally worked for me was to go to "Me" in Find My Friends, then chose "Account." I found that the wrong email for me was there somehow. I corrected it, saved it, and now FMF allows me to accept followers and request new friends. Hope this works for you too.

    I keep getting "the network connection could not be established" message when trying to update my iPad, iPad2 and iPhone4 devices using either my iMac or MacBook.  The Macs and iOS devices are apparently working correctly otherwise.  Problem started about a day ago when I connected one of the iPads to my iMac and iTunes notified my of an update for the device.  I tried and got the above message.  Tryied other iPad2 and iPhone4 and get the same message.  Also, get same message when trying to update using the MacBook. My system SW is 10.7.3 on the iMac and 10.6.8 on MacBook.  iTunes is version 10.6. Have gone thru the check list of things to check and have re-started. Would appreciate any ideas. Thanks.

    Another user named Springbk posted a fix that worked for me as I was having the same problem today:
    I Changed my DNS settings to OpenDNS
    On a Mac go to SYSTEM PREFERENCES>NETWORK>ADVACED>DNS
    change DNS by adding ( + )
    208.67.222.222
    then
    208.67.220.220
    click okay/apply after. then try the update. after the update, just delete the two open DNS server numbers. should revert back to your old one.

    yes i have recently updated to itunes 8.2.1, but i am starting to think its apple's servers (i tried to download at my brothers house...different computer and connection...same connection timeout error), because it will still let me download an album, but not necessarily all of the tracks. when i questioned itunes customer services about the seemingly hit and miss state of affairs with downloading, they told me to wait 3 weeks before trying to download the tracks that were giving me the grief (2 tracks from an arctic monkeys album)...which kinda indicates they know there is a problem and are trying to fix it, why else would they say wait 3 wks??? they gave me 5 free music tracks too, which is handy.

    I've tried a real close for the app, restarting my device (iPhone 5), enabling and disabling restrictions - I DO NOT have in-app purchases restricted under settings-general - restrictions - in app purchases.
    I purchased a book in iBooks this morning - my card was charged and the item downloaded perfectly. I have tried the purchase on WiFi as well as Cellular but neither work. I've also tried turning off my WiFi completely, still doesn't work.

    For some reason my iPad say I cannot connect with iTunes store while trying to update an app. I've tried all I know. Any suggestions?

    I am getting the same message. This is what I did to update my apps.
    Go to the App Store and search for one of the apps that needs an update. When the app appears in the search - there should be an Install button next to the app icon. Tap on it and see if the download will start. It worked for me.
    After over two years of owning iPads and never having had this happen before -  this is happened to me twice now in the last two weeks. It's weird, but it happens.

    I keep seeing a window pop up that says something like:
    connect to update server
    partial update failed
    Have no idea what is going on, this has been popping up for quite awhile. When I chose the RETRY button, it sits there and the long bar that shows the progress never fills in..

    If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

    Hi I would Restore New iPhone back to Factory Settings After Restore use same Apple ID & you will get all your Apps &Data back. This will get rid of any bugs. Cheers Brian

  • I keep getting the "secure connection failed" message....

    I have tried everything that is offered as a solution. Once if not twice. I did the about:config..........change the SSL2 to true a month ago but now I went to check it and it isn't even there any more. I restored FF and that was kind of a pain but I did finally get things back to where I had them. The sites I am attempting to go to work fine in Chrome or IE. Just not on FF. It only happens on some sites. The ones that are important of course. Everything worked fine until a few months ago. I hate having to switch browsers to do the few things I need to. One of the suggestions was to contact the owner of the site which I did. They talked to me like I was from Mars and had no idea what to do.

    That looks like data from a server with old security software.
    SSL2 hasn't been supported by Firefox for quite a few versions (older than Firefox 8).
    Does it help to set these two prefs to 0 (zero) on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable TLS?

    You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar like you open a web page.

    Reset the prefs via the right-click context menu if this hasn't helped.
    Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

    There seems to be an issue with the iTunes store. There are quite a few posts with similar complaints, but I have not seen a statement from Apple.
    Some report that logging out of your account and then log in again seems to work.
