I keep getting the message my ipod is corrupted. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and it still isn't working. It also won't restore the ipod.
I checked the smart data and these were my results:

Temp: Current 30c

Temp: Max 53 c
I'm unsure what this means and would love it if anyone had any suggestions of what I needed to do to fix this.

I go into Services, then restart Apple Mobile, and just for good measure restart Bonjour and iPod services as well.
You could go into Programs control panel, click on Apple programs, and then on Repair.
If you still have trouble, look in Devices and Printers - USB devices, and control click on iPod USB device; also in Device Manager. Probably shows error yellow ! and "error code -10 could not start device". For that, I am not sure what to do but have it on mine and contemplating a clean install (backups are fine and Windows Easy Transfer). Was going to do that today but keeps getting later, so maybe tomorrow, and so I will know better and more.

Experimental advice ... but, plausibly, the preference files containing the parental control setting may be damaged. If so, removing the iTunes preference files may help.

To see those folders, you'll need to first set your PC to view hidden files and folders
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Prior to doing the preference file rebuilds: Best to make a note of any custom preferences you have set up for your iTunes. (Rebuilding pref files returns preferences to their defaults ... so you'll likely have to set some of those custom preferences up again from scratch.) Also make a note of any third-party plugins/add-ons you have installed. You may have to reinstall those after the rebuilds.
Things to watch out for during the rebuilds
Rebuilding the preference files in the \Local\ location causes the iTunes license agreement to run. So you'll need to agree to that again.
Rebuilding the preference files in the \Roaming\ location causes the iTunes Setup Assistant to run. When prompted to do so, do not add files to your iTunes library. (Otherwise you'll end up with a library full of duplicates.) -

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.

Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

I am using OS 64 bit Windows Vista Home Premium and recently updated the latest version of iTunes. (I only have this CD burning software on my Laptop). Ever since updating, I received the message 'Registry settings for the iTune drivers are missing for CD burning'. This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

When uninstalling iTunes on your windows computer, there is a specific way it must be done in order to completely uninstall all components of the software. Ensure you follow the article for your correct OS.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

It sounds like you haven't yet setup iCloud with that account and you need to do that on a Mac or iOS device. Once setup, you can enable iCloud on a PC, but it needs to be setup first.

Here's what I did:
First I tried the Winsock reset in the Command prompt. Nothing changed.
Next, I tried the instructions on http://http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. The only other program that came up on the 'Winsock Providers' tab on the program was 2 Windows Live applications, which I can do without. So I deleted all Windows Live Applications.
I did the Winsock reset in the Command Prompt again and rebooted my comp.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. iTunes keeps freezing at various stages of the sync, then shows the candy cane-striped bar with either the words 'Finishing sync' or 'Cancelling sync', before showing the Apple logo.
Sometimes, iTunes gets to the syncing stage - "Copying # of ####" - where it will trudge through the first, second and third tracks before flashing "Copying 4 of ####" for a split second and I catch "Cancelling sync" briefly before the Apple logo appears.
Again, I've repeated the steps I mentioned in my previous post. Does ANYONE know when the new version of iTunes is set to be released?! This one is driving me INSANE, to say the least!! -

If you were billed and charged that amount of money from someone you were speaking to over the phone, you were not talking with Apple support. If you need to speak with apple support you are free to call them at 800MYAPPLE and they will talk to you for no more money than 19.00/ support event.

My work issued iphone won't restore the backup. I get an error that my password is wrong. I tried variations of all recent passwords. Checked various threads and saw one that suggesting to use the "Change Password" feature under "Encrypt iPhone Backup" as a faster way to find your password. After a few wrong attempts I then successfully changed my backup password and wrote it down!!
Now when I tried to restore my backup with my shiny new password I get the same error that "iTunes could not restore the iPhone "my iphone" because the password was incorrect" The "Encrypt iPhone backup" option is checked and grayed out. I assume the fact its grayed out means its a policy set by my company. I cannot uncheck the "Encrypt iPhone Backup" option. My company IT helpdesk can't help me as they say they don't set a password or force its encryption. The phone has Mobile Iron 5.7.4 app installed as a corporate requirement.
Any ideas? I am using iOS 6.1.3 and I will not update it to iOS 7 since I cannot restore my backup. Learned this the hard way when it wouldn't restore after the iOS 5 to iOS 6 update. I have an iPhone 4s.
Thank you,This is a problem. We also set a policy which requires users create a backup password. That way if they salvage their computer, someone that buys it at the Thrift store won't be able to access what might be company data. The problem is that the password is only required one time, when the initial backup is made, and it might be a year or more before you need to use it to do a restore. If you can't remember it, you can always transfer your content to your computer, music, apps, photo's etc, then setup the device as new and transfer the content back. This won't allow you to get various settings, and points on games, etc, but at least you will have the really really important stuff. If you are connected to an enterprise mail server, that will restore all of your mail, contacts and calendar. -
