I keep getting this message when I try to open Firefox."C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe is not a valid Win32 application" What can I do? I have tried uninstalling and re-install. Ths
I am running Windows 7 . It happened without any changes being made. I downloaded the install file several different times and even turned off my Kaspersky A/V when I installed.
Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different (64-bit) PC. Copy the iTunes64Setup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunes64Setup.exe file.
Does that go through any better for you?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

I keep getting this message when I try to open FCP X. "The storage location 'brianmassman1' on this computer is already in use by 'brianmassman1' on 'Brian-Massmans-Computer-7". To access the location, quite Final Cut Pro on 'Brian-Massmans-Computer-7' or remove the location."
I have no idea what this means. Particularly the part about "Brian-Massmans-Computer-7." I don't even know what computer that is.
I'm guessing it could have something to do with the fact that I've still got FCP 5 installed. But it's not running.Try repairing permission in the Disk Utility and rebooting,

Alert! Couldn’t contact Spell Checker. I keep getting this message when I try to type a mail in yahoo. I get the beach ball and it slows down everything. This has been happening since yesterday. Please help if anyone else has had similar problems or has ideas to fix this. Thanks.
Chris,
I am having Spell Check probs too - it underlines, but that's all. I Googled and tried 5 different places for an answer - even 'jumped the pond'....but got no answers.
i started a thread, "Spell Checker on the fritz!!", and got one good and reasonable answer...
only it didn't work. It involved a .plist file, and once you toss one and do a re-start, it's supposed to re-build itself. But, no, SpCk still 'on the fritz'. I'm going to do one more re-start, but otherwise....
May the first one on either thread that gets an answer that works - PLEASE let us all know.
Keep your fingers crossed and hold your mouth right - lol. Nikki B. -
"This disc does not use the GUID Partition Table Scheme. Use Disc Utility to change the partition scheme". I keep getting this message when I try to install OSX Lion so that I can upgrade my 17" MacBookPro to move to iCloud. My harddrive was replaced last year by Apple because of a fault by the manufacturer and I think this is the cause of the problem. What can I do so that I don't lose my content.
When you click the partion tab. There is option on the bottom of the window. Click on that there there are these options.

I keep getting this message when i try to play a movie on my imac "2010.DvdRip.Xvid {1337x}-Noir.avi” can’t be opened. I'm using QuickTime Player version 10.0(118)
Hold on... advice to someone downloading from 1337x !!!
Until I saw your comment and googled the term, I had no idea that this was a "downloaded" file. I assumed the "1337x" reference was to dimensions/resolution and Noir referred to genre. (I.e., I use similar notations the differentiate files compressed for TV playback comparisons.) In any case, the advice is the same irrespective of the source.
er, isn't it illegal to download movies ?
Not necessarily. Thousands of movies are probably downloaded daily as legal purchases from such vendors as iTunes. Thousands more are available for free in the public domain, open source/community videos listings, and under Creative Commons Licensing. In short, there are many legal sources of downloadable content and you should not automatically jump to the conclusion that everyone is a crook. -
after installing maverick i get this message when i try to open itunes:Unmark the 32bits modus-but i have unmarked it several times! The new iTunes requires 64bits modus so what shall i do?
I upgraded my 2007 iMac (20") to Maverick. Should never have done this! Lost mail, lost my mail archive, lost numerous programs/applications, lost all my installed hardware, spend 4 days on getting it running again with the (supreme) help of Apple Care. However it should not have happened at all!
iMac Computers with less than 4Gb of internal memory (as explained by Apple Care), or less than (estimated) 150Gb of free disc-space should not upgrade! Simple as that and the App Store should warn you about that and not simply let you pick up your free copy of Maverick! -

I'm getting this message when I try to open iTunes: This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. (-42037) What do I do?
Do a back up then try reinstalling.
You should always back up before do an update, upgrade, anything with the system in case something goes wrong. That way you still have a current copy of your data.
Try starting in safe mode, then running the update. This will disable most 3rd party sofwarelike anti virus and other things prople put on their machines that can cause problems.
Safe mode:
Power off, power on holding the shift key, continue to hold until you see the progress BAR then re;ase and allow to finish booting. Note this will take longer than a regular boot. Login and try running software update or use the link here to download. Use an ethernet connection if possible as it is much less prone to corruption than wireless.

Hi ihrtthecowboys,
When tracks in iTunes display a it means the file cannot be located; it may have been moved or deleted. For this issue, see the following article:
