i went to update itunes when i hooked my 5s up to the computer and after i installed it i got windows error 2
I'm going to jump in because I too am having the same issue. First of all, I created this issue when I clicked on a fake download site after a full day of installing software on my new laptop. When searching Google for itunes download, the first non-advertisement result says: Apple - iTunes - Download iTunes Now. It redirects to: https: //www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CEcQFjAA &url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.apple.com%2Fitunes%2Fdownload%2F&ei=Y3rHUo6kNenXygHuo4DQCw &usg=AFQjCNENuVc_o_--Xqy58b9gXwZp9phbKQ&bvm=bv.58187178,d.aWc
Then it has you install a bunch of crap. I clicked accept a couple of times before noticing what I was doing (do not download and talk on the phone at the same time).
Jumping ahead to trying to install iTunes after that mess I created a series of errors. First it wouldn't install, then I got a error QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane could not be located in the dynamic link library QTCF.dll. and a few others. After a clean boot (on a Windows 7 machine), uninstall of all Apple products and re-install, I got the error above-Windows Error 2 and a message that Apple Application Support was not installed.
I followed your directions above and it fixed it. iTunes opened properly for the first time. I closed and opened again and it worked. So I went back to msconfig.exe and reset the laptop to boot to Normal setup and restarted.
Now when I open iTunes, I get the message below: iTunes has stopped working. Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.
Sigh. I've done a full virus scan, have uninstalled any programs that I didn't intend to install and disabled unknown extensions in my browsers but I still can't get iTunes to open and work.

Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

trying to install itunes but keep getting windows error 126 message and libicuin.dll missing have reinstalled numerous times and keep getting same messages.
Are you saving the installer first and then installing, or are you running the installer directly from Apple's website? Also save first.
If you're saving first and still having issues, try and use Microsoft's Cleanup Utility and then reinstall Quicktime/iTunes:

Make sure it's a new and fresh download from:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If not mentioned in the articles, make a new user account in Windows and see if iTunes opens. That will tell you if there's something funky in your main account (if the new user works), or if you have a system-wide issue. -
Initially iTunes would not run although it had been running quite well up until now. Suddenly received this error on PC start-up "The program can't start because MSVC80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." Research on Net pointed me to iTunes as the issue. Tried to start iTunes and received that message again. Tried installing latest version of 64-bit iTunes and received the subject message part way through the install: Trying to install latest iTunes for Windows 7 64-bit. Keep getting this error message "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."

The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem. -
after upgrading to mountain lion i keep getting an error message saying my startup disc is full. it shouldnt be full because there is barely anything on there and i was running windows with bootcamp prior to this with no issues. my computer now freezes and programs close randomly. The usual command for opening windows with bootcamp doesnt work. once in restarted my computer after it froze and it rebooted in windows automatically. i really just want to know if there is a way to take the upgrade off my laptop because it is very annoying.

Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.

To enable/disable Just-In-Time debugging
On the Tools menu, click Options.
In the Options dialog box, select the Debugging folder.
In the Debugging folder, select the Just-In-Time page.
In the Enable Just-In-Time debugging of these types of code box, select or clear the relevant program types:
Managed, Native, or Script.
To disable Just-In-Time debugging, once it has been enabled, you must be running with Administrator privileges. Enabling Just-In-Time debugging sets a registry key, and Administrator privileges are required to change that key.

I keep getting and error when I try to start my iTunes. "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, Then install iTunes again. Error 2(Windows error 2)".... I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the error still occurs!!! This started happening after I installed the 10.3 update
I took the time to research it and come across a couple of people who experienced the same trouble and so I listed some of there steps(with Credits) and some people said that they worked.

I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes to my PC (windows XP) and I keep getting an error message or two. One is that it can't uninstall the previous itunes version, the other is that it can't find itunes.msi. I have tried removing the old version in add/remove programs, but it says the same error. I tried deleting every thing that has itunes in the file/folder/etc and it didn't help.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

I am unable to download iTunes on my second Windows 8 computer (64 bit). I got it fine on my first one and have used it quite a bit.
