I keep losing my bank numbers as well my passwords they seem to be deleting when I close firefox?

I dont what I am doing wrong perhaps by deleting the history . could this be causing it to hasppen

Make sue that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to close passwords and cookies.

You can try to exclude the cookies to test that.<br />
You can let all cookies expire when you close Firefox to remove unwanted cookies and keep the ones with an allow exception.

If you use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the cookies when you close Firefox then Firefox also tries to clear the cookies from plugins like Flash and starts a plugin-container process for each plugin and possibly for each cookie (?) and that can add extra time if there are a lot of cookies to remove and also can cause an unresponsive script error to appear.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) [[Private Browsing]] mode.
Using [[Clear Recent History]] to clear item when you close Firefxo can also cause problems, so you can try to uncheck items in you use that feature.

When I "Close" firefox and later try to reload I get a box stating it is still running and to close it. Well, there is nothing I can clik on to close it.

After closing down firefox I may click on a URL to go to a web site and Instead of Firefox reloading I get a window stating it is still running and I have to close it down before it will reload. Try holding control, alt and delete down in succession and then a dialogue box will appear with windows task manager. Once open click on the Processes Tab and look for firefox.exe. Highlight this and then click end process. It should come up with a warning but just click Yes. This should then close firefox and allow you to reopen it from your desktop without shutting down your computer. Hope this helps.

Applications keep losing their serial numbers

From time to time I get that applications at start-up ask for their serial numbers. These are being filled in again and after some time the message appears again.
I have encountered this with Adobe Suite apllications and SketchUp.
Have done the permissions correction.
This is on a MacPro with MacOs 10.6.8
Hope someone can have a suggestion.

You should contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums since it's their product and Sketch Up developer if its not part of Adobe.

In the Tools menu select Options to open the options dialog. Select the General panel and change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time".

How do I keep my tabs open when I close firefox? I have tried the method in this site (tools- options- general- when firefox starts... but it didn't work.

I used to be able to close firefox and have all my opened tabs saved. When I open firefox again, those tabs will be opened as I last closed firefox.
Now, I am not able to do it. The firefox was crashed at one time earlier and I have to open the task manager to force it to close because it is frozen and so was my computer. After I opened it again, there is no tabs saved which I kinda expected. Then I

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

What is the plugin-container.exe file? How do I get rid of it?I keep getting a 70% usage message about this plugin. I tried to delete it but then Firefox won't work.

I don't know why it says that I use firefox 4... When I check in my About window it says 18.
I do ignore the message about the plugins. But I've started to get a little bit annoyed that I have to move up and press the little x every time I navigate to a site that needs something like flash. It eats up the size of about two text rows... it feels so unnecessary that it's there. If I want flash I will install it... The browser doesn't have to inform me about it every time.
I really hoped for a better answer. Hopefully the firefox crew will add an option to not show that kind of messages in the future.

How come when I close firefox, and reopen it, my persona keeps reverting to one that I stopped using (and uninstalled) weeks ago?

Used a Pokemon Black / White persona for about a week, and then got some new ones. I disabled the Pokemon persona and switched to new ones, but when I restart firefox, it reverts back to the Pokemon persona. I even uninstalled the Pokemon persona in my addons section, and somehow it's still reverting back to that.

Did you check the date and time or compared the content of the file prefs.js?
The data of the currently selected persona are stored as the first entry in the pref <b>lightweightThemes.usedThemes</b>.

Instacal keeps losing my board information

I am using Meilhaus Elec software to set up and calibrate four boards that i am using to log data and control eqipment via a labview programm i have written. However, after i have set up the four boards (2x USB-TC, 1x USB-3104 and 1xUSB-1208F) using Instacal and then run the labview programme, the programme only runs for a few seconds then crashes. After the crash when I go back to Instacal some of the boards are missing or the board numbers have changed. Theni have to re-start the PC otherwise Instacal can no longer find the boards.
I have the four boards routed through a USB hub and then taking a single USB connection back to the PC. The PC is a HP with 2 GB RAM and a dual-core processor and when I run the labview programme without the boards attached it works fine.
Do you know of a reason why Instacal keeps losing the board information and connections? Or is there some known conflict when using it with Labview that could explain the problems I am experiencing.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

It is possible to post your code? What did you mean by the program crashes? Did you received the error code “1- Invalid board number” (ErrHdlng.VI from MCC)? I have a LabVIEW program with four MCC boards: a USB-TC, a USB-3103, a USB-SSR24 and a USB-ERB24. When I used a USB-HUB, sometime I lost the communication with a board, but after hours not after few seconds (I removed the USB-HUB). Without the HUB the program runs for days.

ITunes keeps losing my music over and over

I bought a MacBook Air - the top model - a year ago. I got into iTunes - not knowing what I was stepping into. On the Preferences dialog - Advanced tab - there are 2 boxes: one says to "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" the other says "Copy files to iTunes Media Folder when adding to Library" - I checked BOTH of these boxes.
I added my music files, imported CDs and bought stuff. ALL of my music files have been copied into the iTunes media music folder which is then broken down into directories by author, then by album and then the song files have track numbers appended to the file names. Whatever. I have about 500 music files now.
The problem is that almost everytime I open iTunes I have anywhere from 20 to 200 music files with an exclaimation point beside them. I cannot play them because iTunes cannot locate them. I have to click Locate and navigate into the iTunes media folder, author folder, album folder and then click the mp3 file containing the song and it plays - it fixes that song. Doing that for 200 songs? Are you kidding me?
I noticed that if I close iTunes and open it back up again most of the time the exclamation points are gone but it still will not play the songs. If I click the song it does nothing - it doesnt even give me the box to locate the songs.
This is driving me crazy. Obviously iTunes is not a practical, usable product. But it's the only way to get music onto my iPhone. Or is it?
I've searched thru the Apple support and they're taking lessons from Microsoft - they say the cause is that you moved the initial files and now iTunes cannot find them - they're essentially trying to blame their bugs on us - the users. So Apple - what about all the music I bought from the iTunes store? Did YOU move the initial files? Yes the CDs I imported have "moved" everytime I put my car in gear. The files I imported from my files system are still right there where they have been all along. And no - none of this music is on a removable drive. It's on whatever flash memory you guys put inside this thing when you built it. I refer to it as my internal flash memory - which takes the place of the hard drive most computers have. Seriously, does Apple have answers for this? Not just trying to put the blame back on me.
Had I not told iTunes to keep the media organized then would it keep all the music in one directory? Would this problem go away? Importing all my music again would take an entire day. If i'm going to go thru the trouble of rebuilding my iTunes library I want to solve the problem for good. I do not have time to keep fixing this problem.
I would just go and get a real music player that actually works - but I want to put music on my iPhone - that's why I use iTunes. I guess i'm screwed.
I suspect this has something to do with the fact that a MacBook Air does not have a physical hard drive - it uses flash memory instead - and since flash doesn't retain storage for long they probably have background processes moving files around so they stay fresh - and somehow when I close the computer and it "sleeps" and then wakes up it has "lost" hundreds of my music files because they were moved and iTunes doesn't have the new location?
Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone found a solution to this issue? Is Apple ever going to fix this problem? If so - how do I get the fix?

If you click one of the marked library entries and reassign the proper file, will it work again?
Then iTunes seems to have problems to access the folder where you placed the music. User rights, removable drive locations... There could be many reasons.
The best way would be perhaps to define the media folder where iTunes can definitely access it, then import all files again and perhaps tick the option to copy the music files instead of just linking them.
