I keep losing my tool bar apps I set up each time I re-start Firefox.

I've set up a few frequently used web pages on the toolbar, but after I close out of Firefox, it resets all the toolbar to the defaults, (ie flicker, tumblr etc.) I have deleted these several times and set up my own but it always seems to go back the these.

Is this about bookmarks on the Bookmarks Toolbar or are that buttons added by an extension?

What are you calling the "toolbar"?  The menubar is the bar with the Apple logo, File, Edit etc...
The Dock is the translucent bar with the trashcan.
Kiosk mode hides the menubar on some web browsers, while others do by the fullscreen mode, enabled by the control in the upper right corner of the screen, which if you move your mouse pointer over will allow you to untoggle it as well.
The Dock is managed through the Apple menu, or Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Dock.
command-option-D will hide and show the dock in most applications from the keyboard.  The Windows key and the Alt key are the equivalent keys to command and option on non-Apple keyboards.

  • FireFox4 is not keeping items in tool bars

Items in tool bars are not staying put every time opening ff4.
Forward, Backward, bookmarks, Cool-iris, Print items keep defaulting to original locations.
    How can I fix this?

I dont' know why it would shift... and would think it shoudn't.
What's the reason you need to do this? Is it for review purposes or something?

Try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
    See:
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />

  • I received notification of a new update to Firefox, but did not install it due to losing my Norton Tool Bar. I am now receving messages to update Firefox. How can I update this and keep my Norton Tool Bar? It has my logins and websites.

When I received notification (about a week ago) to install the latest update to Firefox, the update stated that I would lose the Norton Tool Bar with the installation of the update. The issue is that I use the Identity Safe feature in the Norton Tool Bar for the majority of my logins. To lose this feature would be a hardship. Is there any way I can maintain the Norton Tool Bar?

  • I do not have Windows Tool bar featured and need to add a new printer to Firefox. How do I do it?

When I access another web server, there is a tool bar on top "File, and with other functions. I do not have this tool bar with Firefox. I bought a new printer, I need to conect to Firefox in order to print.
How do I have the bar and conect the printer

    Hi pastore27-
You should be able to print documents from webpages using Firefox. The print button should display by default. However, it is possible it was removed during an upgrade or due to custom preferences. The way to fix it:
    # Firefox > View > toolbars > customize
    # Select the printer icon and drag it to your browser window
I also found a Support article on restoring toolbars, as you said the toolbar was missing:
[[Back and forward or other toolbar items are missing]]
    I hope that helps!

  • My norton tool bar has not loaded when I switched from IE to Firefox

My Norton tool bars, for phishing and Identity Safe, disappeared when I switched from IE to Firefox. I reloaded Norton to see if this would help but nothing changed.

You can import the IE Favorites via
*Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Data from Another Browser
You can also export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.<br />
That way you also preserve any sorting that you may have done in IE with the Favorites.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • In v.4.0 my app tabs are erased each time I log off.

I recently installed Firefox v.4.0 on my Mac v.10.5.8. Each time I set up app tabs they are erased when I log back in. They are apparently cancelled when I log out of Firefox and shut down the computer.

    Hi,
Please try this: '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''Privacy''', click '''Exceptions...''' and type in '''chase.com''' and '''Allow'''. Additionally in the same tab you may also have to make sure that if '''Clear history when Firefox closes''' is enabled, click '''Settings...''' and uncheck '''Site Preferences'''.

  • Verizon ONT keeps turning off randomly. I must manually reset each time, help!

As the title states, the ONT will randomly turn off, and in order for me to restore TV and internet, I have to unplug the ONT from the wall, unplug the battery backup, plug the battery backup in again, then plug the ONT into the wall.
I have had THREE technicians out this week, each stating they fixed the problem.  Alas, each time, a couple hours after they leave, the ONT shuts off again... it is driving me insane, and I am quickly losing my patience.  Has anyone experienced this before?  Anyone have any tips as to what I should tell the 4th tech to do in order to fix the problem?

Did you restore it as a new phone?
If so, and you're having this issue, best take it to an Apple store to be evaluated. They can test the battery to determine if it's gone bad.

  • My screen view is too wide, causing me to slide view bar constantly. I want the web page to fit correctly and keep my upper tool bars.

How do I set Firefox so that when I am viewing web pages, I do not constantly need to re-zoom the new page, or, use my bottom slide bar from side to side just so I can read the information I am looking for?
My preference would by the page to "JUST FIT"my screen. And of course, keep my work bars where they are at top and bottom.
I am running Windows XP, I am using a "ASUS wide screen monitor. (A VS197 LCD)

There are add-ons like [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/readability/ Readability] which reformat a page more thoroughly, but I don't know whether there is one which changes the page's width settings to fit within your window.
If most pages look right at a certain reduced zoom level, you can use an extension to set that as your standard zoom level.
    For example:
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/ Default FullZoom Level]
    * [https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/ NoSquint]
