I keep losing the connection on my apple mouse

I keep losing the connection to my apple mouse. The batteries are ok, but the connection still drifts in and out. Any suggestions?

You say the batteries are okay.    Here are a few notes I've put together.
Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are more likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems.   Apple’s own brand, Eneloop and Energiser appear to be the best.
Rechargeable batteries for the standard Magic mouse are unlikely to exceed eighteen days before needing a recharge although the mouse itself can be a limiting factor.   I have seen reports that some Logitech mice vastly exceed this.    Apple may suggest more in their sales blurb but this is a realistic expectation.   The benefit (if you are organised) is that you can always have charged batteries available.   Regular batteries will give you between 25 and 35 days before they need to be replaced.
Note.  Never mix old and new batteries or rechargeable and regular.   The notes above are based on my personal experience, not shutting down my machine and using it for around four hours per day.
Note.   Monitors do not always faithfully report battery strength, particularly the rechargeable ones.
When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries ... Turn off the device. Remove the batteries, Clean the terminals both inside the battery compartment and the batteries themselves. Replace or renew both batteries. Turn on the device.   You should get a blinking green light if the device is paired. Click the mouse to activate it.  The green light becomes steady.

apple tv keeps losing the connection to itunes

Hi I have all my appletvs set to NEVER SLEEP - go to your appletv settings/general/sleep after and choose never sleep. Since doing that I have had no problem with them. Also I leave my 2010 macbook pro running itunes and permanently on and open - it is my main homesharing disk. I give it a sleep every now and then when not using appletv.
    Try that first anyway.

  • I upgraded Lion recently to 10.7.3. Since that time I am having trouble with my wireless connection. All other devices are fine, but I keep losing the connection since the upgrade.

Recently I upgraded Lion to 10.7.3. Since that time I have been having a lot of trouble with my internet connection. I keep losing the connect and have to go to diagnostics and turn it back on. Is anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks, Pat

I'm afraid there are numerous threads on here discussing this problem. I posted in this one earlier that has a couple of suggestions, but the real solution will hopefully be provided in an update from Apple:

  • My iMac keeps losing the connection to my chosen Airport Wi-Fi network.  Anyone know why this happens?

My iMac keeps losing the connection to my chosen Airport Wi-Fi network.  Anyone know why this happens?

Close all Apps and see if Activity Monitor shows any processes runnung.
Not that I think this is the cure but have you tried these resets:
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset.
    PRAM RESET
    Zap the PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

I have a Airport Extreme 802.11n and my T.V. is a panisonic,I keep losing the connection. Anybody have any answers?

Plenty of suggestions.. only you can find out which one is correct.
    What model AE? What firmware?
Since Panasonic TV is not apple it will use SMB windows type networking.. everything but Apple does.
Are the names in the AE all SMB compatible.. ie short.. max about 20 characters.. no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
Is the security set to WPA2 Personal with a pure alphanumeric password of 10-20 characters.. more is fine if you suffer paranoia but isn't needed.
Fix the wireless channels.. so it doesn't flip flop like a dying fish.
There are only 3 channels for 2.4ghz that do not overlap, 11, 6, 1  although someone suggested 8 works well if you have heaps of interference. If you live in flat/apartment building you have heaps of interference.
Lastly is it stable if the distance is 3M direct line of sight?
If not then get a high power wireless AP and use that instead.

iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • Can't re-order my queue on Netflix and keep losing the connection

I'm having so much trouble with Netflix!  I can't re-order my queue, I keep losing the connection, and it's painfully slow. Is Netflix known to be unstable on iPad? Other internet connecitons seem to be fine.

I rarely have problems on it - I do occasionally have drops in video quality, but nothing consistent. It does require a very strong and stable network connection, and I also wonder if they have periodic "crush time" incidents on their end, considering the rapid growth of Netflix streaming.
Updating the queue is a pain on it - you can't do it on the app, and have to go to their website. I generally find it easier to do on a computer.

  • Help needed!! Why do I keep losing the connection to my cRIO?

    Hi All,
I've got a real time system with the following setup.
I have got a cRIO out in the field running a real time application that accquires data from various thermocouples and sends the data to the my host computer over a wireless radio link. I am using a wireless ethernet modem with a data transfer rate of 100 kb/sec. The modem is being shared by 12 other radios also transmitting data to the host PC.
So, basically, I've got the host PC on one end and 13 field computers (one of which is my cRIO running a real-time application) on the other end. The 13 field computers are sending data to the host PC over wireless radio links utilizing a single wireless ethernet modem. The data from the 13 radios is placed on a que and the modem cycles through the que enabling the data from each radio to pass through one at a time.
My real time application is sampling the thermocouple data every 1 sec and sending it across to the host application via a shared variable
The host PC is also running an application that acts as the user interface.
    My problem is this:
My system runs OK for a couple of minutes and then suddenly I lose the conection to the cRIO. Once this happens, I have to manually reset the cRIO (i.e. cycle the power back on) to re-establish the connection. This is both tiresome and inconvenient as the system needs to be able to run continuously for several hrs.
What could be the possible causes for this loss in connection? Is it possible that a clash between signals causes the modem to drop the connection to the cRIO? If so, is there a way to monitor the connection between the host and cRIO and automatically reset the cRIO in the event of a lost connection?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Taizoon

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I was overflowing my FIFO so it may be a memory issue. However, it dies hard when I place a probe on my FIFO read data. Since this seems to be repeatable, NI may be able to look into it.
Anyways, I'll try some of my own troubleshooting and your suggestions then if I'm still having problems I'll be sure to check back.

  • My printer keeps losing the connection to my wifi network

I have tried deleting and adding again. Sometimes it works but then it goes down again. I have tried two different printers. I recently changed our wifi to password protected, but I have set it up on the printers and they recognize and connect. It is my computer that cannot find the printer.

Anything is possible but I don't know how I would know that. We have a wirless network that serves my imac, a pc desktop, a laptop, and various mobile devices, as well as the printer. It just seemed to stop working on the network. I downloaded all updates. I am going to remove the wireless printer form the mac for now so that the others can use it. I will hook up a usb printer to the mac. Though that seems so ridiculous. I have tried everything else I can think of.
Is it possible that my modem or router are causing the problem? I just commuication error every time even though the signals and network seem to be performing just fine.

  • FireFox keeps losing the connection to the server at my local cable company

frequently over past week I get a message that says Firefox cannot find the server at Armstrong cable. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling FireFox and restarting my computer. I have Trend Micro Titanium anti-virus software on my laptop and a full scan did not detect any issues or problems.

I have exactly the same problem. Internet provider (Time Warner) repaired a cable, installed a new splitter and a new modem. It worked for a day, then same problem. TWC tech verified cable, modem and router OK, problem in the computer. My work around is to disconnect the ethernet from the computer and operate it soley on WiFi. I hope to find out what is wrong with the iMac (running Lion), but for now it works fine this way.
I had even restoree the OS, did not help.
Go to the network preferences and make sure your network is selected, and it should work.

  • IMac keeps losing network connection

My iMac keeps losing the connection to my AirPort very sporadically, but very often. I keep having to open Network Assistant, choose the AirPort and the network, and re-enter the password. I then get a message that my network connection appears to be working correctly, which it then is. This could happen several times in a few hours.
I have tried creating a new network, but it still happens. We have 6 other devices on this network and do not have a problem with those devices.
    Any advice?

What am I looking for in the window that pops up?
here's a (very crude) screen shot of an iStumbler scan on my MBP
my network is called pegasus. see that it broadcasts on channel 11 (2.4 GHz band) ? see also that there are six other networks broadcasting on the same channel ? now, ideally i would change my channel to broadcast on "5" or "6", but since there are so many networks around, even those would give me interference from other networks nearby.
in the end, i decided to hardwire (using ethernet cables) most of my devices to my router (time capsule) in order to avoid interference alltogether.
also, there could be closed (hidden) networks around that only KisMac would be able to pick up.
lastly, as the read about *wireless interference* revealed, there are other sources that could interfere with your network performance: microwave ovens, cordless phones - heck, even enabling bluetooth on your very own Mac could be a source.
as an alternative to running ethernet cables throughout your place, you could consider *powerline adapters* _*such as these*_.

  • Apple TV. Just upgraded software update. Now I seem to be losing the connection to my iTunes Library rather frequently. Any suggestions ?

I have recently updated the software on my Apple TV. I now seem to be losing the connection to my iTunes Library on my iMac rather frequently. I have reset/restarted Apple TV box, my BT Infinity box and my iMac. I would be grateful for any advice.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't play music from the computer if there is none there. If you are using iTunes Match you should now be able to download and play all your music on the Apple TV from the music feature on the main page.

  • Do they have plans to fix the bugs with Yosemite.  I keep losing internet connection on my Mac Book

Ever since i installed Yosemite on my Mac Book pro i keep losing internet connection.  Should I go back to mavericks because I just hate this Yosemite or do they plan to fix the bugs soon?  I did a complete clean install and I am still having problems.  I see a lot of complicated solutions and I am not that tech savvy to go into my settings.  Thanks

All software has bugs. The first release (which you have) will be the worst.
Many advocate not upgrading to a new operating system until it's been out for 3 months or longer. In the Windows world many recommend not upgrading until a full year has passed.
So yes, most / some bugs and glitches will get fixed over time.   If you wish to reduce your difficulties in the future wait a while before installing ANY new OS.
I suggest you post specific details on your Internet problems. How are you connected etc.
