There's no 3.6.18, so there appears to be a glitch in the update checking. Or the message is not really from Firefox (malware site).

Pages will not download on my Imac 21.5 from app store
Israelboy,
In the Mac App Store, there will be a link labled "Support" in the "Quick LInks" box.
That will take you to: Apple - Support - Mac App Store .
Then click on the "Troubleshooting" link. -
I get a notice that says a security and stability update is recommended for Fire Fox 3.6.15. When I click to update a bar appears showing attempt to contact but nothing ever updates.
Sometimes the updater gets in a funny state - Go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and download the full installer. Close Firefox and run the installer

I bought a song, and it says the file is corrupted and will not download what should i do?
If you see the "Purchased" option on the main screen of the iTunes Store, here's what I'd do:
1) Go into your library and delete the file if it downloaded. If not, go to your downloads and delete it from there to stop it from download.
2) Go to the Purchased pane in the main iTunes Store section, locate the item, and try the download again.
Also, you may wish to turn off any anti-virus or anti-malware programs before you try this again, as that sometimes is what can be blocking the download. Otherwise, contact iTunes Store Support:

How to Get a Refund from the App Store -
My Dell laptop (Operating on Windows XP) was hit with multiple viruses - I could not open Mozilla Firefox or any other applications for that matter. After much time and many attempts, I was finally able to install and run an AVG Scan and then an AVG PC Tune up. 4,559 problems found and repaired. After the repairs, I received the following message:
"Software Update - A security and stability update for Firefox is available: Firefox 3.6.18 - It is strongly recommended that you apply this update for Firefox as soon as possible. - an underlined link reading, "View more information about this update" and then 2 choices - "Ask Later" or "Update Firefox." Since part of the problem was with Firefox and some error messages pointed to that, I'm hesitant to click on any of the three options above. Can you help me to get past this error message, please. I am sending this from my home computer. Thank you. DianeSometimes the updater gets in a funny state - Go to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and download the full installer. Here is what the questionable window looks like:
upper left corner/across and down
ln1 (ff global logo) "Software Update"
ln2 "Update available"
ln3 "A security and stability update for Firefox is available:
ln4 "Firefox 26.0"
ln5 "It is strongly reco'd that you apply this update for FF asap.
ln6 HTML Link "View more info about this update"
ln7 (bottom of window) "ask Later" button and "Update FF" button
While entering this info the window went away!!!
Before it did i could not copy any of the text (do have screen shot however) and the link did not resolve to any web address. Looked like std FF page but NEVER seen anything like it before!
no way i was going to click anything except the close [X] button.
If it is valid, you need to remove the restrictions on it; to make it less suspicious.
If it is bogus, do you have a plugin or addon to intercept such malicious probes?
Currently using FF25.0.1; on xp/sp3
thanks
NET2868 friday 12-20-2013 mid (EST)Firefox 26.0 is available for updates.
Do you get this update offered if you open Help > About?
You can find the full version of the latest Firefox 26.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here if you want to install manually:

The above message pops up when I try to install the new version of firefox. It will not let me install the new version. I do not know how to fix it. Please advise.
Try a custom install.

With the old version, all I had to do was go to the log in page to any of my email accounts or membership sites and scan my finger. It would fill in the fields and open my account. I like this new version of Firefox, but if I am not able to use that password manager then I will have to install the older version.
A 2008 black MacBook can run OS X Lion (OS X 10.7). However, if you want to use that Mac for apps that do not work with the new MacBook, I recommend you to leave it with Mac OS X 10.6.8, because OS X Lion removes compatibility with PowerPC apps.
Do not worry about the battery of the new MacBook Pro. You can replace it yourself or take it to an Apple Store or reseller, and the cost is similar. However, it's important to take the Mac to an Apple Store or reseller if your Mac's battery fails while the Mac is in warranty, because you will get the battery replaced for free. -
Okay, I hit "help" and then updates which it reports there is one but I do not have permission to install it. I am at a loss as what to do
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
* Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

I have an Apple OSX10.6.5. I am having difficulty with the Scottrade website and am wondering if my inability to install the above update is part of the problem.
Maybe it is better to wait with updating.

Thank youuuu!
To upgrade to Lion (10.7) you need to purchase it from the App Store ($20).
Before any major software update be sure to have a complete backup.
Note that when upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion you will lose the capability to run PPC applications through Rosetta. For example AppleWorks will go away. -

For weeks now, I get a daily "SOFTWARE UPDATE" pop-up window urging me install a "security and stability update" for Firefox 5.0.1. if I ignore it or click ASK LATER, it comes back. if I click UPDATE FIREFOX, all I get is pinwheel, for hours, with no progress in striped progress bar.
Hello:
First, permission repair is, IMHO, a waste of time. In the old days, we whispered that like some sort of incantation. I have not seen a permission problem in years. The messages, incidentally, are not a concern. Apple has gotten smart with OS X 10.7 and eliminated them.
If you were having problems, running repair DISK from your software install DVD is a good idea.
What updates were to be installed? In any event, trash a preference file (com.apple.softwareupdate.plist) and restart.

Rcvd a Firefox "Software Update" which said: "A security and stability update for FF has been downloaded & is ready to be installed" Update: FF 37.0.2
Message has the option to restart now or later. I'm on ver 37.0.1 and FF says it is the MOST RECENT! Is this safe (from Mozilla) or a Scam/Phishing attempt? What to do????There is a 37.0.2 that came out recently. If you don't trust the installation prompt, cancel it. You can check using the Help menu, About Firefox. Either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > About Firefox
* (menu bar) Help > About Firefox
