I keep trying to submit a podcast...

... and getting a message that "The Feed has no episodes." My feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheCiviliansPodcast. I'm using a blogspot blog to host the RSS feed, and that's where I'm putting all of the iTunes tags. I also created an XML document that I uploaded to our ftp server. In the code, there's an <item>, so I assume there IS in fact an episode. What is wrong?

Well, I copied the code from the iTunes suggested code, and I have the </description> tag at the end of the description.
You've copied the code into the description tag, so it's been treated as the text of that tag and therefore isn't valid. The code must be a direct part of the feed. This page includes a sample basic feed so you can see what it should look like - you will see that the 'enclosure' tag is not inside any other tag.

  • I'm trying to submit my podcast to the Itunes directory, with itunes having difficulties doenload ing episodes!

I'm trying to submit my podcast to the Itunes directory. My podcast feed is http://intensivecarehotline.com/category/blog/feed and the feed has been verified by other sources. I have tried now for a few days in a row, with itunes always telling me "We had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed".
My plugin on my wordpress blog for the podcast is "Blubbry power press".
I would very much appreciate any help!
    Cheers

Thanks Roger! I appreciate your advice and your time.
Does that mean in order to get my podcast on itunes I need to change all my audio files to mp3/m4va or .mov? Does it also mean I can't embed my youtube videos on my blog? As far as I'm aware, lots of other sites have their podcast on itunes and have videos embedded on their blog as well.
Any further insights would be much appreciated.
    Thank you

  • Trying to submit a podcast to iTunes

I'm trying to submit a podcast to iTunes and I get this error message. Does anyone know what I should be doing differently?
"We require that feeds include a title"
The url that I am submitting is
    http://mediumrare.podbus.com/mediumrare/Podcast/rss.xml
and I can subscribe if I click on the button via my iWeb generated page.

I figured it out, you can go into a text editor and add the title tag to the rss.xml file.

  • I tried to submit my podcast but showed difficulty in downloading and later showed already submitted please help!

I tried to submit my podcast but showed difficulty in downloading and later showed already submitted please help!

If your podcast was submitted but rejected for any reason then the automated part of the submissions process will give you that error despite the rejection - I assume it's a bug. The workaround is to change the title slightly.
But if they had difficulty downloading (what? - the feed, or the episodes - didn't they say) then you have a technical problem you need to address. Obviously I can't advise any further unless you care to post your feed URL.

  • Technical Issues Message When Trying To Submit My Podcast Feed

I have been trying to submit my podcast feed to the itunes store since monday and every time I get a message saying there is a technical issue and please try again later.
I sent an email off to apple to find out about this and options offered in the reply haven't worked either! I have had the podcast on itunes before but the site I was hosting it at back in the day (Mevio) decided to remove everything on its site, hence my original feed sat doing nothing and was then removed from the iTunes store, I have recently found a site that offered everything I was looking for (Podcasts.com) and signed up.
I posted my first show on Monday but now I have the issue of iTunes constantly telling me there is a Technical Issue and to try again later which I have repeatedly.
I even tried running my feed through feedburner and still nothing, I have changed the title of both the podcast and the show name like was suggested in the email from apple and still it wouldn't take. Its starting to get on my nerves now since I want to get my podcast back on iTunes.
Can anyone offer up any advice or suggestions on how I can sort this out!?

The feed can be successfully subscribed to manually in iTunes. There are a few minor issues with the feed which I wouldn't have expected to cause a problem, but the Store can be more touchy than the application.
You should have this as the first line in your feed:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
You have far too many words in the 'keywords' tag in your episode - the maximum is twelve.
    Your 'itunes:duration' tag reads
    <itunes:duration>81</itunes:duration>
which is meaningless, though the Store might read it as 81 seconds and play only that amount of your episode. It should have the duration in the format hh:mm:ss, e.g. 0:26:42
I wouldn't have expected any of these to be fatal, though you should address them. It may be that you've hit a glitch in the Store - it's been known - so when you've corrected the errors try again.

  • 5002 Error when trying to submit my Podcast

Everytime I try and submit my podcasts feed url(http://feeds.feedburner.com/controller1gaming) and after I type in and try to log in with my login info right after it always gives me an error which reads:
"We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occured (5002).
There was an error in the iTunes store please try again later."
I have since installed iTunes on 2 of my other computers and got the same problem on all 3 computers, as well as on 3 different log in accounts (all registered to the same billing info).
I have no idea what to do to fix this, I searched and found that many people have had this same error however none of them related it to submitting a podcast, almost all of them dealt with downloading itunes music and getting this error (I never buy/download anything but podcasts on iTunes).
So if anyone has any idea how to fix this, or can please give me a link to where I would contact itunes about this, or better yet a telephone number to call in the US it would be grealty appreciated.

I tried something else just now, in an attempt to see if the problem was perhaps having something to do with me registering and burning my podcast on my computer using feed burner I had a friend make his own feedburner account, and burn my podcast feed from wordpress. He still got the error (and we are talking about someone else on the other side of the united states).
    So some new conclusions:
-I have tried using multiple feedburner accounts, one even not even registered by me myself, error occurs.
-I have tried using wordpress and blogger as two different sites to take the feed url from when burning to feedburner, still got error.
-I have used ourmedia as well as archive.org as my mp3 hosts and still got the error.
My conclusion? I seem to be running out of ideas really, the onlything I have not tried but would like to would be having someone register their own ourmedia account, upload my mp3, register their own wordpress blog and put my mp3 on there, and then burn that wordpress feed on feedburner and try submitting the feedburner link to itunes, that is really the only idea I have left (by doing that it basicaly voids out any interuption I might be causing on my home computers somewhere along the lines).
If someone where who is successfuly able to submit podcasts to itunes and wants to help me out in my idea vplease respond here with your email adress, (best option as I dont check my mail often) or if you use AIM my screen name is ReverieGamer.
I am truly beginning to believe that this is a problem with itunes now however I cannot be sure (I have even installed a slightly older version of itunes on my pc and tried and still a no go)

  • Error while trying to submit my podcast

    Hello all.
I'm a DJ and Producer of Progressive House, and I'm very interested in starting making podcasts for people in iTunes. I tried it more then three times (changing the servers where my .mp3 is) (I used Google Drive and now the archive is at archive.org).
    The error is:
"We had difficulty downloading episodes from your feed"
    My link:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/Rellort
Thanks to now for help of someone.

You have prefaced the URL of your archive.org mp3 file URL with https (encrypted connection): Blogger will not make an 'enclosure' tag with this because the iTunes Store cannot handle https. You need to replace the https with http - the URL will still work - then the feed should become properly constructed.

  • I'm trying to submit a podcast.

iTunes gives me an error message after I submit the feed (error 11111). What gives?

You can't submit audio files or websites to the iTunes Store.
The essential thing for a podcast is to have a 'feed'. This is a rext file in a special format, which contains the details of the episodes. Though it's perfectly possible to write it yourself I don't recommend it if you're inexperienced: there are a number of programs and online services which can make nyour podcast for you. I can't advise on Windows programs but you could look at Libsyn, which seems to be particularly well focussed, as well as Blogger.com.
You should read this article on podcast basics so that even if you aren't going to hand-write the feed you will gain an understanding of how the process works.

Your episodes have no playable media, and your feed is not a podcast feed. Your links are to pages with embedded players: this will not work in iTunes.
Could I ask you to read my 'get you started' page on podcasting:
    http://rfwilmut.net/pc
and if you do have any questions subsequently please do post back. There's no need to post the contents of the feed: just posting its URL is sufficient, and more helpful.

  • Itunes is saying the is technical difficulties when trying to submit a podcast

hello, i am currently submitting my second podcast to itunes, and the feed is valid i have used numerous validators to check and they say it is working fine, the url for the feed is "http://feeds.feedburner.com/DBTheGlitch" i have checked the name and everything is not taken, but itunes constantly responds with technical difficulties any possible help?
my first podcast went through successfully but this one is not doing as well
    podcast information -
    Title
    Digit Blast's The Glitch Podcast
current number of episodes - 1 (pilot episode)

'Technical difficulties' is pretty vague but it may be server difficulties at the Store end: you could give it bit and try again, perhaps after the weekend (this sort of problem seems more common over weekends).
Your feed can be subscribed to OK in iTunes, and basically is OK.
Your media file URL has spaces in it: these are not allowed in a URL - as the feed is correctly substituting the code %20 for each space this isn't actually a problem, but it's bad practice and better avoided. The usual workaround is to use underscores instead of spaces.

  • I tried to submit a validated rss feed to itunes.  It keeps saying session timed out.   Any suggestions?

I keep trying to submit a validated RSS feed to podcasts on Itunes.  It keeps saying session timed out.  Any suggestions?   thanks

Possibly your server is responding too slowly. In iTunes, from the 'Advanced' menu choose 'Subscribe to Podcast'. Enter your feed URL. See whether you can subscribe there, and whether there is an appreciable delay.

  • Can't submit feedburner podcast to itunes

    Hello,
I have created a feedburner podcast to submit to Apple.
The podcast can be subscribed and downloaded manually in iTunes. However, there is a time out issue when trying to submit the podcast to iTunes. I have trie to submit this podcast to Apple from mid December 2013 with no success.
    The podcast URL is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/MHPN
Our developer claims there is no issue with the server and all functions normally when accessing the podcast in a browser.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?
Attached is a screen grab of the error message in iTunes.
    Thanks

Some of your URLs - for example for 2 October - have spaces in them:
    <enclosure url="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/MHPN/~5/kiQgeVJzvZ0/MHPN_2_OCT_1800 - audio.mp3" length="86234627" type="application/octet-stream" />
Spaces are not allowed in the URL and iTunes cannot see any files which have them in the URL. You top episode is OK, but that episode and any others with spaces won't download.
The feed itself is OK (though a bit of a mess) and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes. I don't know whether it's the spaces which are causing the problem - there isn't usually any difficulty with Feedburner feeds themselves - but it's your first thing to fix. Once fixed, post here if you still have any problems.

  • Cannot submit a Podcast ("Experiencing Technical Difficulties" Error)

    Hello,
I am currently trying to submit a Podcast to the iTunes Store, I have used the Advanced menu and have verified that the RSS Feed is working correctly.
Upon attempt to submit, the following message displays:
"We are currently experiencing Technical Difficulties, Please try again later'
Is this problem being worked on? I have noticed several other users post about this.
For reference, my feed is a RSS Feed published by Blip.TV

I've had the same message since Sunday. I wish someone from Apple would at least do us the courtesy of replying to these messages and letting us know what's going on. As it stands I don't think anyone can submit a new podcast feed to the iTunes Store.
If anyone reading this has done so in the last 24 hours PLEASE let us know.

  • Byte-range request issue when trying to submit - hosted on Tindeck, is this the issue?

    Hi there,
I'm trying to submit a podcast, but having a few issues. It's the first time I've tried to do this and I'm geting a little confused with all the jargon - and there was me thinking I was pretty tech-savvy!
I've set up a Wordpress.com blog (http://every80smovie.wordpress.com/) and then set up a feed on Feedburner (http://feeds.feedburner.com/every80smovie) from that. My audio mp3s are hosted on Tindeck - the first episode can be found at http://tindeck.com/listen/xryo, but I used the Wordpress audio code to place an embedded player on the blog page that links to the Tindeck download link.
From what I can see there are a number of podcasts that seem to host on Tindeck and are listed on iTunes - however, whenever I try to submit my podcast I'm told that the episodes are on a server which doesn't support byte-range requests. I'm guessing Tindeck does because of the other podcasts on there, but I'm now getting really bemused.
I can subscribe to my podcast using the Advanced tab on iTunes, so I know that side works. Can anybody help at all? Does anybody have any experience with Tindeck?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

When your episode URL is entered in the address bar of a browser it downloads the file; although this works OK in the iTunes application when subscribing, downloading sometimes works in the Store and sometimes doesn't. Really you should provide a direct link to the file which when enter it in a browser, plays in the browser. I don't know whether Tindeck offers this as an alternative.
Testing for byte-range requests doesn't suggest this is handled - as it's downloading it probably wouldn't in any case. Byte range requests, which consists of requesting parts of the file at a time rather than the whole thing, is the method used by the iPhone and Apple have made it mandatory for new podcasts; if they detect that your server doesn't handle it they will reject your submission. (Other podcasts using Tindeck may have been up before this came into force, or perhaps they've found a way to get Tindeck to serve the files properly.)

  • Want to re-submit a Podcast

I'm very new to podcasting and tried to submit a podcast via podomatic.com. I used the following feed http://djnicoboy.podomatic.com/rss2.xml and have submitted thru Itunes.
A week later I got a response saying it was rejected. I then investigate what went wrong and thru the feed validator I notice the mail address was missing into my podomatic account.
Now when I try to re-submitt and I get the duplication error.
    What should I now do?
Is changing the name of my podcasts in podomatic going to help?

I did a change in the podcast title and also a change in the podcast description but the RSS feed is still the same ( http://djnicoboy.podomatic.com/rss2.xml ).
If I resubmit again Itune is going to recognize it as a duplicate?
