I (kind of dropped) my rMBP 15" from the floor of the passenger car side to the ground. It was protected in a Thule Gauntlet sleeve inside a Thule Crossover Backpack. Should I be worried?

My rMBP 15" was protected in a Thule Gauntlet sleeve which was then inside a Thule Crossover Backpack. The machine fell just from the bottom of the passenger side car to the ground and kind of rolled over a bit on the ground.
I am extremely worried about anything being wrong with my machine, whether it be one of the fans messing up or a RAM issue. I ran AHT (Apple Hardware Diagnostics) and everything was fine. Should I take it in to the Genius Bar and have it looked at?
It may not be anything since the fall was so minisucle (knocks on wood) but any insight from you would be great.
Currently, there are no problems with my rMBP 15" since the minor fall.

I just get extremely worried when these kinds of things happen and expect the worst. rMBP is still in pristine condition (I got it 2 days ago) but get apprehensive when these types of things happen.
Due to this minor fall, do you think anything would happen internally to the machine? Any insight, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you talking about the Desktop?
I don't see where it is possible to set both Snap to Grid and By Kind they seem to be mutually exclusive.
And then
If I have Snap to grid set I get the behavior you describe. If I have By Kind set the icons stay together and close up the space from the deleted icon.

My I-pod has broken when i dropped only 1 foot off the ground!

I have an ipod 4th generation and i dropped it around a foot from the ground.It broke. The ground wasn't a very rough or hard surface either.I feel for this i should be able to get it fixed for a lower or free price. Can this be arranged?
I also feel that the I-pod's should be built to handle being dropped, especially if it was dropped only a foot off the ground.

The Apple Store will not repair your iPod, they'll replace it. So none of your apps nor data will be on the replacement iPod. You may be able to re-download your In-App purchases, though not all are eligible. See:

Format iPhone, my USB thumb drive went from W/R speeds of about 250 to 10mb/s after a while, speed went normal after format. Can this be happening to old iphones? How to format them from the ground up?

I've read that because of the way they handle files, SSDs go slow over the time unless you apply protocols to handle the empty space. I noticed in a USB thumbdrive (Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 64GB) that ovet the time and use it went from speeds around 250mb/s to about 10, I formated (full format, not a quick erase) it and it again performs properly. I have a old iPhone 4 that became very very slow over the time, more than what I would expect from it not keeping up with iOS 7. Could it be happening something like this? Maybe formating it from the ground up would speed it up a bit (ultimately is the same kind of memory holding the OS).
Is there a way to format it like that?
I would appreciate any insight on this.

It is possible to reset your iPhone back to its original settings using iTunes. See this article for the procedure -

It sounds like you are unable to change the phone number that Messages is sending messages from because it is grayed out. I recommend the steps outlined in the following article named:

Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

I recieved a photo via text on my iphone and then I synced my iphone to my macbook and now it is in iphoto. I already know that the date on the photo per the tag that shows up on it in iphoto is NOT the date the photo was actually taken. I need article or literature or something confirming the tag is from when it was sent to the iphone and/or when it was imported. I greatly appreciate some assistance!

All I am trying to do is find something on a forum board or article etc stating that the the date showing in iphoto could be the date it was imported or synced or sent to me and not the actual date taken.
The date on the photo could be anything because you can edit the date with iPhoto or any of 100 apps, free and paid for. So, the date on the photo will prove nothing, I'm afraid.

I assume these photos, or at least not all of them weren't in photo stream.
You should be able to recover your photos from a back up.

There's a way to make an apple ID without a credit card. But if you already have one...well, you already have one. Starting over from scratch would probably be more trouble than it's worth.
The logic flow seems to be the presumption that 'everyone' will eventually purchase something, so just start the account with a payment method, even if that payment method sits there unused for months/years.

Disable anti virus software and try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall.
Quit then relaunch the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Then click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads

There is absolutely NO way to drag and drop newly purchased music from the Purchased list on the phone into my iTunes library? I'm finding it hard to believe that something so simple cannot be done!

I like to make MP3 CD's when I have people over, or when my friends have people over so I can just pop them into the CD player and let them play all night without having to worry about changing the CD or anything. Well, Apple's music is in AAC format, so I have to convert the songs to MP3 files using the converter in iTunes. So I'll convert them to MP3's and just delete the AAC file so I don't have doubles. The problem is, the next time I plug the phone into my laptop to transfer new purchases, iTunes thinks that the songs I converted aren't there anymore because the phone has them as AAC files, and iTunes has them as MP3 files, so it doubles the music again...EVERY time!! It's very frustrating! So this is why instead of clicking Transfer Purchases, I would like to be able to just drag and drop the songs I want from the Purchased list on the phone into my iTunes library. I hope I explained this right...lol. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I'm able to do that. I'm hoping maybe somebody here can help me out and give me some pointers on what to do about this. That stinks! I can actually do that at my house...I just plug my iPhone right into the wire that's plugged into my receiver in my living room...but some of my friends aren't "technology savvy"...lol...so they just have DVD players and I'll put the CD in there because it will read an MP3 disc. What's funny, is I have the phone set to "Manually Manage Music", and when I plugged it into the laptop just now, the one song I downloaded last night on the phone, transferred over to the iTunesl library. That NEVER happens. And it only transferred the one song...it didn't double the other songs like it ususally does. I swear, iTunes does what it wants, when it wants sometimes...lol. I can't print my statements from banking websites - the option to print (drop down file menu) from the website is greyed out

I do my banking online, and have previously been able to print my statements off the website. Since the last update, although the page shows in the browser as normal, the option to print from the drop-down file menu is greyed out and I cannot print anything, even if I try and select a portion. It is not a problem with the website as I can print without a problem in another browser program. This problem has now persisted for quite a while with no resolution over time. How do I get Firefox to allow print from a secure website (I assume that is the problem?) It occurs with more than one secure site (two different banks)

I have the same problem... not being able to print website 'Print' pages. I have read carefully the above link and have followed the reset directions in about:config, but I still cannot print in Firefox. Both Google Chrome and IE work perfectly every time. I have verified that the correct printer is selected and that the margins are in order (0.5 all around happen to be what mine are set for). I have resorted to use the Firefox Add On "View this Page in IE" whenever I need to print something. Works like a charm, but come on... it should work in Firefox too! I know there is some setting or something, but the Problems_printing_web_pages link had nothing there that worked for me.
