All content from iTunes is tied to the account that downloaded it, so the id that shows when trying to download updates should be the account that 'owns' that app. Do you recognise the id that is showing e.g. has anybody else downloaded or synced content to your iPad ?

Transfer the app into iTunes on your computer and then sync the app to the iPad. If you have never synced with iTunes before, it will be a little more complicated that that, but you can still do it if you follow the instructions in the user tip below.
If you are already syncing with iTune, it will be very simple and easy to do.

Changed Apple ID, but app store still wants old one
I changed my Apple ID to a new email address because the old address stopped working. However, the App Store still wants my old address and the old ID (email address) and password are invalid. How can I fix this?
iTunes and Mac App STore purchases are forever registered to the Apple ID that bought them. Apple does not transfer purchases from one Apple ID to another Apple ID. Apple does not merge Apple ID accounts. The Apple ID is encoded into the licensed copy that you downloaded to your Mac and that is the only Apple ID that can redownload or update the purchases.
You erred making a new Apple ID. You should have simply changed the primary email address associated with the Apple ID.

It is too late to do that now because you have used your email address to create the new Apple ID. An email address can only be associated with one Apple ID.
There is a very complicated process to reuse the new email address. -

Try logging out of the existing Apple ID at Settings > iTunes & App Store.
Select your Apple ID and at the window that appears, select Sign Out.
Sign back in with the changed Apple ID. -
Cant download at app store after several attempts to change apple id
i had changed my apple id 4x these past few days. however i finally decided to use my first id. now whenever i want to download via app store, theres a pop-out saying:'this apple id has not yet been connected to iTunes'
how can i conect to iTunes without using credit card due to i ont have one.You cannot install any apps at all without entering a credit card now - or without creating yet another new Apple ID. If you did not want to use a credit card with your Apple ID, there is a very specific way that you have to create the account. If you don't or didn't follow those steps exactly, you have no choice now but to enter a credit card - or create a new Apple ID without the credit card.
If you create a new Apple ID, you will also need another email address since you have already associated your current email address to the ID that needs a credit card. You also have to sign out of your ID in Settings>iTunes and App Stores before you can create anothe Apple ID.

Your advice did not help me. I also installed 10.7.4 combo but the situation is the same.

I have been trying to update via App Store and every time only with apple software it starts to download and it will says it's calculating time remaining then an error message pops up saying " An error has occurred the request timed out. (102)" I have tried everything , I've been told its my ISP but I have tried using differenet internet to attempt the updates. Like I said all other software updates fine its just apple software

Installing the OS X Lion Update 10.7.3 (Client Combo) will reinstall the App Store for you.
Restart your Mac after the combo is installed then try purchasing Aperture. -

Log into your account and verify that you have a valid payment metnod specified.

When trying to install apps from app store it does not prompt an apple id and after 15 minutes says "cannot connect to itunes store".
Your Apple ID may be greyed out because of restrictions. Settings>General>Restrictions>Allowed Changes>Accounts. If you set that restriction, your ID will be greyed out. Nobody can make changes to the account without entering the passcode to change disable the restriction.
Maybe something in here will help, even though this is not exactly what you are experiencing.

I have an iphone 4 and recently changed my apple id password. I went through the verification successfully. For some reason, I can't sign into the app store on my iphone using my apple id and password.
Apple doesn't monitor here. Best we can do is to push you to contact Apple directly.
