I know this is more bridge oriented, but id love help!
I need help, i am using CS6 everything. When i try to preview text effects (or any for that matter), i get the pinwheel, then eventual it loads, but offers no preview, well its a preview, but text effects for example aren't moving at all. All that is under the image is a series of dots and not a play bar. Help please. Feel free to email me as well [email protected]

What does your activity monitor show? How much free memory do you have when Bridge is running? What else do you have installed that may be conflicting? It looks like the dynamiclinkmedia server is not fully loading.
Reboot, relaunch bridge, and go to the presets. If everything works, launch AE and see if it still works. Keep opening things until it doesn't and you will have found your culprit.
You might want to look at Memory Diag, a free app that does a good job of freeing up memory. I have it installed on all my Macs.

Just fill your gray objects with a 50% tint of the spot color you are printing. In the Print dialog, specify the halftone screen ruling.

Assuming you are printing to a PostScript device, you can print as color separations and specify the halftone ruling, angle, and shape for each ink in the Print dialog. You don't have to use any kind of fake halftone such as Pattern Swatch fills.

How did a folder named just "Adobe", containing only something called "Acrobat.com.app"), end up in my root Applications folder?
Double clicking on "Acrobat.com.app" launches an installer that wants to install something called "AIR". What is that and what is it needed for?
What forum should I be posting this in?
A global search and searches in the Acrobat Macintosh forum were not helpful.
Can I just delete that Adobe folder or ignore it? It has identical Creation and Modified dates of January 15, 2010 17:56, which raises more questions than it answers.
Any input will be appreciated.

Maybe… kinda, sorta… There are no ".exe" files in the Mac world.
I've never downloaded or installed either Acrobat.com or Adobe AIR. It has to have been the Acrobat Reader 9.3 update for the Mac that installed that sucker on my Mac. I had certainly never seen it before.
That, on top of the inexcusable, abominably surreptitious "Growl" installed by Adobe behind my back, strengthens my resolve not to acquire any more Adobe products, free or otherwise.
What in blazes are the Adobe corporate folks thinking?

I currently have a DROID RAZR M and I'm 1 year into my 2 year contract. Since the Kitkat update, the phone won't stay charged and it's very buggy. I know this is not Verizons fault but it's also not mine. I would like to change my phone to an iPhone 5s and keep my same plan but switch to the Edge program. Is this possible? I don't think I should have to pay an early termination fee or anything like that since my phone has become almost unusable. I know under normal circumstances you have to wait 2 yrs to upgrade but due to the update and the poor service I'm now getting I hope Verizon can make an exception. Thank you.
How recently did you switch? If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account. The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices. I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

I know this is supposedly not possible, but I need to retrieve a specific voicemail from my iPhone which was also "cleared" from the Deleted Messages box. Any suggestions?
This is highly important. I know the number from which the voicemail arrived, but have not been able to figure out how to retrieve it. I accidentally had the voicemail in the Deleted Messages folder, and then Cleared this folder. If there is any possible way I might be able to retrieve this message, even if there is a cost associated with it, please help me.

Is this the way to go to retrieve as much as possible or is there another solution?
Those dates are when a backup was automatically made by Firefox, not dates when you saved specific bookmarks. Try restoring the backup from the day before you deleted all those bookmarks. It will restore the entire backup file - not just what you deleted, you will lose any bookmarks that you saved after the date of the file you restore.

I have done all the following code myself and it is the buisiness layer for my application. I have tried to follow recommendations on previous posts and I would like to be told where I can clean up my code and how? This is not complete and it looks very long to me but I need help in order to be better. There are 4 button vlivks and I have not completed them all. The criteria for application is that phonebook will accept new entries if they have names surnames and phone numbers that are not longer than 10 characters for display purposes but can change this. Basically, I just bought a Nexus 7 after growing impatient waiting for the iPad mini. But the Nexus has a fault, and I'm taking it back next week. I'm wondering whether to get my money back, or just get another - because it's a pretty good device!
My major big thing about it, is that I can plug a USB pen drive into it with a OTG cable and either just stream pictures, documents or movies - or save them to the Nexus for viewing without a dangly wire to annoy me. It's great! However, being an Apple fan - an iPad mini (if it comes out!) would be simpler, because it would sync to iCloud etc. whereas obviously my Nexus 7 doesn't do this at all. The only iCloud factor I can access is my mail. Which isn't a problem, just a prefference.
So, with current iPads - is there a way, without jailbraking the device, to say stream movies to the device through a USB pen drive/external HDD, and save them to the iPad?
I've seen ways on YouTube but thought it was best to ask here.
If this was possible, I'd swap the Nexus for the iPad mini straight away - the Nexus 7 is fantastic! No problem with it, if it wasn't for iCloud, I'd keep that.
Oh, and as a closing question on the iPad mini/Apple Maps - the Nexus 7 lets you download offline maps, and also you have a GPS which is used even when not on wifi - do you think this will be likely on an iPad mini? I can't see it myself.
It's a sad day for me, when I start to think Google may still have the upperhand on 7" tablets, even after the iPad mini is released. I might even wait for the Second generation (if it exists!) - just because I for some reason never like first generation things from Apple.
But anyway, that's a lot of questions and info!

I know this has been asked before, but...
I'm having trouble converting a mono audio track to a stereo one. I know you're supposed to extract the audio and open it in QT and export it in stereo, but it doesn't seem to be working. I'm selecting "Export: Sound to AIFF" and "Use: 44.1kHz Stereo." I know I've successfully done this before, but I can't seem to do it this time. Any help? Thanks.

Is the problem that you only have sound coming out of one speaker? If so, you've already got stereo. It's just that your audio is only on one of the two tracks in your stereo pair.
So what you really need to do is export to mono.

That is correct, labels ..... are what you need.
Scenes are Only for authoring purpose , they are not included
in final SWF files.
Your movie become one long timeline once exported and Scene
basically are to give
an end to one and beginning to another timeline . So if you
have scene 1 with 100
frames and scene 2 with 100 frames, the scene 2 first frame
is not #1 but the following
number of first scene 101 . Plus there is no scene names upon
export.
You need to label frames which you like to target and use the
following instead:
_root.gotoAndPlay("labelHere");
How to give frame a label name.
Add new layer on top of all your layers. Keep it blank, for
labels and actions.
Organizing timeline in such way only allow you to find things
faster.
Select the frame you like to target on that newly made layer
and hit F7 key.
F7 inserts blank key frame.
Now, select that key frame and hit CTRL F3 - it will open
properties panel.
Automatically you will see on that panel little window which
says <frame label>
just type that label there and you all set.

I know this is a dumb question but...
Somehow my spouse has got some kind of Help window open. It explains what's on the screen, isolating various texxt or function boxes. It's a black rectangular box that can be dragged and resized. I've minimized it but would like to get rid of it. Anyone know what this is?
Turn off VoiceOver in the Universal Access or Accessibility pane of System Preferences.

MartinOK and when I run desktop manager then what do I do? There are no instructions after this setup with my mobile carrier, they just leave me hanging. Also, is my phone going to be wiped or will it just update the OS? I don't want to lose all my settings that took me hours to setup on this thing and have to redo everything all over again. Backup? I don't understand how to do that either (again all of this is new to me). I don't have a second phone where I can call T-Mobile on the phone and have them walk me through it, I only have my cell that's it. They refuse to give me instructions unless I'm on another phone when I call them, why they won't let me write them down is beyond me...these carriers are getting mighty picky these days on customer service/technical support.

In EJBs, we can always spawn a JDBC connection using the internal server side driver through defaultConnection() or kprb. My question is, can we spawn any other kind of connection from an EJB to another database on some remote machine, this would involve using the thin or oci drivers, i try but get security exceptions and access privilege exception though the account i use is privilegded for database operations. Can someone answer my question please.

RALPH - I know this is redundant... but
My uncle has an 800 meg eMac.
We've always connected just fine, with good speed.
He's just changed from DSL to cable.
I can connect with him, and his picture is good, but he
starts out at 15 and drops to 1fps in about 10 seconds.
I tried giving him PowerBoost, but nothing changed.
We're able to multi, as well, but his speed stays at 1fps.
His cable download is 6k and his upload is 384.
I have other chatters with only 384 up and they work fine.
Any suggestions?

I would get him to open the Activity Monitor in Applications/Utilities.
When it is open select All Processes in the drop down at the top.
He need to Concentrate on the items towards the top of the list above the DOCK.
IF he has launched Dashboard all his Widgets will be active.
iChat and iChatAgent should be active.
Look for anything that suggests an AntiVirus item (AV)
Look for any Print Manager that might be stuck
If he is sure what the item is like a print manager he knows is not printing he can use the Quit button and Force Quit the item.
(I presume you meant 6Meg down)
Get him to recheck his Quicktime settings.
System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab
If he is fastere than T! (1.5Meg) then he should use 1.5 and not the LAN/Intranet one.
He should also check iChat > Preferences > Video > Bandwidth Limit and make sure it is set to NONE and not capped there.
Am expecting it to be the things higher up like an Unsuitable (for Tiger) Add-On.
