I know this sounds ridiculous, but do you have to have Fireworks and Dreamweaver to create a website?

Many years ago, I had a copy of fireworks and dreamweaver. It seemed like I only worked with fireworks and created websites, links etc. Do you have to have both and somehow they work in tandem?

My suggestion would be to forget about Fireworks, because the application's development was stopped in May 2013, and no updates are coming its way either. It is dead software, unfortunately. It is already experiencing compatibility problems on the latest Mac OS, for example, and it is only going to get worse.
To create a simple website, you have two choices: you either learn basic html and css code (as Mylenium suggested), or you use a visual editor.
I have a feeling you veer towards the visual editor solution, so here are some options:

- Adobe Muse
... or install WordPress through your host (most web hosts offer a one-click install option), choose a nice template from the tens of thousands available online, and start adding content.

ASSUMING that you have FCP 5...
you HAVE to have this:

It's a sweet little app for deleting, saving and restoring your preferences.
I am guessing that in the upgrade your prefs got tweaked or QT did some finkydinky, there was an old post that referenced FCE, but that may help you...
The workaround is to download Quicktime manually, after removing the "receipts" which indicate that it is loaded. Specifically, I was told to do the following:
1. Navigate to Library -> Receipts on your main drive (not from your personal folder).
2. Remove all files of the form QuickTime*.pkg, where "*" is a version number. E.g. QuickTime600.pkg, QuickTime650.pkg, Quicktime700.pkg and QuickTime701.pkg. This simply tells your system that those packages are not installed.
3. Go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/downloads and click on the "download Quicktime" link. DO NOT USE THE AUTOMATIC UPDATE UTILITY. Download QuickTimeInstallerX.dmg. Double click this file (probably on your desktop) and then invoke the installer by double clicking QuickTime701.pkg.
4. After your computer reboots, you should be able to restart FCE and see your camera.

I know this will sound ridiculous but I have "lost" the arrow key (to go back or forward) at the top on the bar. I swear I used to be able to just click and arrow to see the previous page and now it's not there. Help!?

I know this sounds crazy but I have "lost" my arrow key at the top of the screen to go forward or back. I'm sure it used to be there but it's really bugging me that I can't find it. It's a real pain trying to go one page back. Help?!

If this is Safari that you've lost the arrows in, go to Safari > view > show toolbar.
If the toolbar is present and the arrows missing then right click on the toolbar and select "customize toolbar".
Drag the arrows or the default set back to the bar.

Connect in recovery mode and restore, you'll get the option to reset the passcode during this process:
iOS: Unable to update or restore and iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.

IE: to make the videos play consecutively in the order i want without stopping after each video and gong back to the list.... this is what i have had to resort to make it work....what i want to do....is be able to make a playlist of videos on my iphone 5....take my apple tv to friends houses and with wifi....set up apple tv and play videos at the party and not have to stand by with the remote and find a new video to play stopping the music between the songs/videos....very annoying....and have spent over 4 hours one day and an hour and a half today on the phone today with a sr. advisor with apple and they have no clue.... this seems sooooo simple.... please somebody that really knows how to do this....i will be indebted forever...............

I'm just getting ready to start my very first semester in college, and its time for me to buy a laptop. Here are some of my concerns, hopefully somebody on here can help me decide on which one to get, i'm looking to go buy one tomorrow!
Pros and Cons about getting a MBP vs. MBA?
If i don't use the cd drive, and end up getting a MBA, can it handle just as much memory as the MBP?
What else can somebody tell me? Best battery life, best screen resolution, my spending limit is right about 1600...

True. But do you need that much? Find out. Because given clouds, given what people keep on phones, on-line, on external drives, you may not need as much as you think. My point being, don't panic about space unless you know you really need plenty of it--and need everything on tha laptop at all times. And keep in mind that 8gb RAM (for MBA--definately go for that) with SSD is going to be very fast indeed compared to a regular HD. Also, you can put more on SSD than on an HD.

(2) Play on both. What's most important is that you love your computer. If you love your computer, you'll enjoy working on it. If you don't like your computer, you won't enjoy working on it. The two have different feels--pick the up, weigh them, type on them. The computers may make the decision for you.

Restoring music but get this message...""You do not have enough access privileges for this operation".

I'm trying to restore my music library on my windows laptop from discs, but while importing, I keep getting this message ""You do not have enough access privileges for this operation" and a failed import. I have tried just about everything I can think of to fix, including most of what I've seen on forums dealing with permissions and the like. Thoughts?

This can occur if you bought the machine used and iLife was reinstalled with another AppleID.
This also can occur if the "free apps" you downloaded have paid upgraded versions and/or are now payware and you can't get updates.
All software from MAS is copy protected, it might be free as in "no charge" but it's not free in the sense you can share it with others.

The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed. you may not have the appropriate permissions, this erroe message i get every time i try to access iTunes, I need help.

I have been having this problem for few weeks I tried to unistall it and reinstall it still didn't work I also tried to delet the shortcut by draging it to Recyle bin and find the iTunes through the c drive and send the icon or even open it from there still didn't work so I really need help here.

So I removed everything and did the restart but still didn't work, the I used Microsoft Security Essentials and find this one: TrojanDownloader:ASX/Wimad.DS and the alert level was severe so I removed too and the problem was still there even after restarting the computer, Now I am kinda lost and I dont Know what to do.

I've solved it,
Change the permissions on the file (sudo chmod 755 httpd.conf)
then
sudo nano httpd.conf
and it works fine

How can I stop the word SPAM from showing up in the subject line of my own outgoing messages? I don't want the recipient delete my message thinking it is spam. Help!

Could you check whether [SPAM] appears on the subject line if you view your messages directly on the server (for example, using a webmail page in your web browser)? This will help distinguish an accusation coming from a web server vs. any spam filter you may have installed on your computer that examines the mail while Thunderbird retrieves it.

Try creating a folder in a different location (outside of the Pictures library such as on your desktop), copying the pictures you want to sync to this folder, then syncing this folder to your phone by selecting to do so on the Photos tab of your iTune sync settings. If you still get this error try disabling your anti-virus software and syncing. If still having problems try deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder, usually located in your Pictures library.
