You'll need your OS installer disk or a retail disk with a version later than the one that came with your MBP. You realize that what you want to do will necessitate erasing your HD so you might want to wait till you get back home.

I attempted to install the new version of Firefox as it would not load my Hotmail account. I clicked 'replace' only to be told the new version could not be installed; I now have no Firefox at all to run on my (10.4.11) Mac Book Pro.
Can anyone let me know if I can reload my previous version of Firefox to use for internet purposes?

1 My questions are about viewing and managing photos from a folder.
a. How do i view photos in macbook pro - i know the space bar thingy but does not help my purpose?
b. While viewing how can i delete the unwanted photos with delete button?

Periodically you have to empty the iPhoto trash. iPhoto drop down menu>empty trash
Same applies for viewing pics in a Folder NOT in iphoto, Use the up and down arrows does not work in Preview, but as you know in QuickLook (spacebar) the up and down arrows will navigate. -

This is our resident iPhoto guru, Terence Devlin's, advice:
You can move your iPhoto Library to an external disk:
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space. -

Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless. -

Remember, if you ever want to find an app quickly, you can slide all the way to the left (iOS 6 and lower) or pull down (iOS 7 and later) to get to an app.
If you know for certain that you have deleated the app, please try restarting your phone. There are many ways to do this, but the safest way would be to hold down the power button and then slide to power down.
Once powered down, restart and try to find the icon on your screen. If you still can't find it, go into the App Store and then find the app you were trying to access. It should have an iCloud download symbol since you've purchased it before, rather than saying "install." -

I have an app that appeared to need to be updated. I clicked to update three days ago. It has started to update and will not finish. How can I delete the app while its in the middle of updating?Locked on an update can mean a couple of different things. So there are a number of things to try, but start with these.
If you have a "waiting" icon, try tapping on the icon and see if you can pause the update/download. Of it pauses, tap on it again and see if it will resume.
Try holding down on the icon until all of the icons on the screen wiggle. If the X to delete pops up on the waiting/stalled app - tap the X to delete the app. Tao,the home button and the apps will stop wiggling.
You can also try this and see if the downloads will resume. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad -

Just got a new job. Yeah! Taken over former employees' iMac. I made myself Administrator, seem to be the only log in option. But, my home folder is still in the old guys name. How can I change the name on the Home folder without deleting it and loose all the files? CAN'T loose the files? Help...
ThanksChanging the existing home folder name is complicated. I recommend you NOT do that.
Instead, create a new User with exactly the home folder name you want, and copy your files over to that new user. Once a few days have gone by trouble-free, and you are certain you have no issues, you can delete the old home folder.
While on the subject of users, Some users prefer the peace-of-mind of using an "ordinary" user account, rather than an Admin account for daily use. This makes it much harder for anything to "sneak" onto your Mac, as you need to authenticate anything to be installed in system directories.
To do this, create a new Admin user, log into it, and demote your daily-use account to a non-Admin user. When actively installing stuff, the Admin username and password will be requested. -

How can we modify the distination url while migrate the personalization

I got the requirement to create a link in iSupplier home page. I have created the link using oa framework personalization and set the destination URL with the third party's test instance URL. It is available in test instance and the third party url is also the test instance url . I have to move this personalization to production. In production the same link has to open the third party's prod instance only. But i am little bit confused, how can we modify the detsination url in the personalizaed the document.
Please suggest me if there is any generic way of modifying the link url while migrating the personalization from one instance to another instance.
