I like Firefox and use it regularly and tried the upgrade before, but it doesn't recognize my Norton Identity Safe.
My version 3.6.24 recognizes my Identity Safe from Norton Internet Security 2011. I tried your upgrade before and had to go back to my original version because it didn't provide for access to Identity Safe.

After I updated to 3.6.8 I started noticing on a game I play at UniversalCriminal.com that randomly when I click on a link, firefox will load the appropriate page and as soon as it finishes loading that page it will refresh or reload the same page. It doesn't happen on any particular link it just happens randomly, and not all the time but most of the time. I tried reverting back to an earlier version of firefox but it still happened. I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled the latest version but it still happens. It doesn't do it with IE or Chrome or Opera. What gives? Any ideas anyone?
I see that you ave changed some network.http prefs.
Doing that can cause all kinds of problems because not all servers like such changes, so you can try to reset those prefs on the about:config page.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

I started using LT 4 and I have a serial number, also upgraded to LT 5 and have a serial number. Now I just bought a new Macbook Pro and installed the LT 5, but it doesn't accept my serial number. Why?
When you installed the Lightroom 5 on your MacBook, did it ask for both serial numbers. Since you purchased Lightroom 5 as an upgrade, you need both the serial number from your original purchase as well as the new serial number for Lightroom 5. If you have both of those numbers and they are still not being accepted then you will have to contact Adobe customer support for a solution.

OS will download about 3/4 of the way and then automatically try to download. When this happens I get an error message and loose my partial download.
Are you aware of any problem with a previous purchase ? If not then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they know why you are getting that message :http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
If terms of the card not being accepted, if it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
If it is a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support as above. -
Those are all the details I have
There is an article about this problem see:

In the about:config page the keyword.enabled value is set to "true". And the keyword.URL value is set to "default". When I type a phrase in the Address Bar, a page with a Yahoo! search result opens unlike intuitively loading the relevant page using Google. Why is this happening?
To use the Google's browse by name feature as used in Firefox 3.6, set keyword.URL to this link:
[http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q= http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=] -
I "updated" itunes and now I am unable to download any apps. I receive the error message -45054, try later. Please advise.
Try repairing disk permissions in Disk Utility (it should be in the Utilities folder in Applications) : https://discussions.apple.com/message/23478840
If that doesn't fix it then try the suggestion three posts further down that thread by the same user (wmark), that appear to have worked for some people -

I was using earlier version of Firefox and it worked perfectly. Then I changed over to the 4.0 version and now I can no longer use the Norton Identity Safe. This is no good for me. I am now having to use Internet Explorer instead of Firefox. I would prefer to use Firefox. How can I go back to the earlier 3.6 version which was just fine as it was. The 4.0 version is good also except for knocking out the use of Norton Security features.
I need to return to Firefox 3 because I do not have an Intel Mac. The Mozilla window telling me to upgrade kept showing up, so I upgraded. But now I can't find an earlier version of Firefox to download.

after downloading new version of Firefox 4 I am unable to use touch pad for scrolling. I have tried installing and uninstalling the new version but this problem has always been occuring. I do not know how to fix this problem so I always return to the old version.
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop
* Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Trash the current Firefox application to do a clean (re-)install
* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

Can't open Safari. I get "Can't find server". I get NCSW21 in my address bar. I am using AirPort and have a strong internet signal. I have no problem opening Firefox and surfing the web. Need help. Thanks
Hi Professor66,
I have a couple of suggestions for you regarding this issue. Here are two links to users who have posted similar questions to yours and have found their answers in the responses to their posts:
Safari hangs when loading web pages. | Apple Support Communities
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3784708
Safari loading blank pages | Apple Support Communities

I would suggest that you first follow the troubleshooting that the OP did in the second link, which is to test in a new user account to see if the behavior is consistent. If it is, you may need to address the issue at a software level by re-installing Safari. More information on this process can be found in the following article:
OS X Mavericks: Reinstall apps that came with your Mac

Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

My macbook pro (2010 13inch) is really laggy when I'm using apps like iTunes and safari. the arrow on the screen seems to not respond and is laggy and when viewing videos it can be really laggy. I just want to know if it was a problem i could fix, thanks.
You might start with:
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order. If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time, then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar. Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process. See if that helps. Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
If the above reveals nothing helpful, then create a new user account. Log out of your account and log into the new account. Do the problems cease? -
I downloaded Firefox and it worked perfectly for awhile. It then dumped me out and my screen showed a blue background with a "critical error" message. It kept dumping me out, so I uninstalled Firefox and tried to re-install. Now it won't even re-install. As the re-install process almost finishes, I get dumped and the same "critical error" screen appears. I assume there is something with Microsoft or Explorer that is sensing what I'm trying to do and stopping me. How can I get Firefox to download again?
I love a good anti-Microsoft story, but this isn't likely to be Redmond Sabotage.
If you got a blue screen, you might be near the end of this computer (dying hardware) or need to reinstall your OS (reinstall Windows). Windows gets "clogged" and needs reinstalled ever six months to a couple years, depending on your use. System restore might help you here.
You might have malware that's trashed critical system files (or just corrupted something which should be removed with a Firefox uninstall but can't), but [http://www.google.com/#q=blue+screen+of+death the blue screen is never a good sign]. System restore may or may not help in that case.
Try installing something else and see if it succeeds. [http://openoffice.org/ Open Office] is a great application suite, though it's a bit large to download. [http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/ SpyBot] is only around 17MB IIRC.
Best of luck!
