There's no exact analogue to the "whites" slider in Aperture. But you could do it with curves if you wanted. You can set the white point using the curves tool as well.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Other than that, what version of iPhoto do you have? Assuming 09 or later try
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Having IMEI number cannot help you trace the iPhone.
If you have activated Find My iPhone and your iPhone is ON and have Internet access, you can locate it. Otherwise, report to the police, your carrier and change all passwords that were used i iPhone.

For 3 years my iMac and miniMac both communicated with a Canon printer and the internet using an Airport Extreme. Last winter, the miniMac lost printing via the Airpor and now can't communicate with the network at all.

For three years my iMac and Mac mini were networked via Airport Extreme with a printer and the internet. More recently, I added an iMac and iPhone. PROBLEMS: A few months ago the Mac mini lost its connection to the printer, and now it cannot locate the network at all.

If you use the extreme as a router then the tc should be connected via its wan port to one of the lan ports on the extreme. Tc should be set up in bridge mode. Basically you could set it up to create another wireless network beside the one created by the extreme. There is no need to use WDS or extend the other network.
Use the same SSID and password for both machines. Computers will connect to the strongest signal.

The colour swatch 'black' has a conflict with the current document?

I have created some graphic styles and saved them as the manual explains.
When using them in a new document I keep getting the conflict window asking if I wish to merge swatches.
What have I done to keep getting this unwanted conflict message?

Yeah, *real* annoying. This is something new. It didn't happen before in CS5, at least not to me and I always work with global colors.
Example:
No matter what object, no matter what color (even without any color!), upon paste I get the merge dialog: The color swatch "K=30" has a conflict with the current document.
When I delete the swatch and then cut something (not having that color) I get: The color swatch "Deleted Global Color" has a conflict with the current document.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

AS5300 distinguishes voice or modem call based on the called number (DNIS) received for a call. As long as the DNIS received is unique for voice and modem call , AS5300 can distinguish based on the configuration.

TS3212 I get the file download window and I push "run", but after it starts to install, I get a window that says that they was a problem with the installation and I need to check with the manufacturer of my software. WHat does that mean?

Repair your Apple software update.
Go to START/ALL PROGRAMS/Apple Software Update. If it offers you a newer version of Apple Software Update, do it but Deselect any other software offered at the same time. Once done, try another iTunes install

White and black point vs ??

I never know which forum to post these things, so I'll start with the photographers.
 
 These three shots are as follows: (1) the camera raw version, (2) where I moved the sliders from the ends to approximately the beginning/end of the major portion of the histogram, and (3) using the threshold control to find the white and black points in the main part of the picture.
 
 Then, in the two adjusted versions, I lightened the image with the curves control.
 
 In both these cases, I used the grey dropper to touch the same spot on one of the rocks, to get the apparent neutral point.
 
 It seems to me that the threshold method to find the white and black points is preferred, based on the overall color and appearance of the finished adjustment.
 
 But, I've found on some images where the histogram has missing black and missing white, if I adjust the sliders to these two ends, I get pretty much the same outcome, as far as the contrast, color, and grey point.
 
 Could I have some advice on the preferred method to use in handling my image adjustments? Doing it the threshold method takes more time, and sometimes it's difficult to find the white and black points, or even the grey point.

Yes the image was purposely underexposed. What I was trying to accomplish was to speed up the shutter speed to remove the slight blurring and compensate by pulling data from the shadows. Even though the lens has an image stabilizer the amount of light wasn't enough for a proper sharp shot.

I believe that I will have to wait next year and hope I have a faster lens by then. I just don't think the 28mm-135mm f/3.5-5.6 lens is fast enough. I was trying this without a tripod to get in tighter.
Also I was taking these shots without the flash to get the drama of the tree lights.
What I would have prefer is a shutter speed of 1/125 or better as it helps with my hands shaking I believe the slowest should be 1/60
And the lower the ISO the better for noise.
These preferences are what I am used to with my Canon G3 that does not have IS.
I am getting so off track here, lol. But anyways, here are the pictures.

I bought a Qosmio G20-109 in France one week ago.
It works perfectly except the TV.
When I launch the Tv set, the first channel is in white and black.
If I change the channel, the next ones are in colours.
The drivers are ok;
Have you an idea to fix this problem ?

Your problem is one country specific problem. It is not easy to say what the problem can be. The only thing that I can suggest you is Manual Channel Programming. Maybe you will able on this way to find a exact frequency of this channel.

Illustrator cs6 white and black color changed to "blanco and negro"?

I created a "user defined swatch" and it was working fine until today I opened my file and wanted to update the file and then I realized the white and black color on the swatch changed! The white is still 0,0,0,0 but the black changed to c=71.39%, m=65.35%, y=66.87%, k= 76.71%. Not just that, the red changed to "Rojo CMYK" and the yellow changed to "Amarillo CMYK".
May I know how to change it back to normal black, white, red, etc...? Thanks!

No. Never in spanish. I've been using this Illustrator and this "user defined swatch" for so long and never in spanish. And my system is in English too...coz I don't know any spanish.
What changed is that...in my "user defined swatch", the black value from c=0, m=0, y=0, k= 100 to c=71.39%, m=65.35%, y=66.87%, k= 76.71% and the name is not "BLACK" but "negro". The white is still c=0, m=0, y=0, k= 0, but when you hover, you will see the color is not called "white" but changes to "blanco". All the gray color is not 80%, 70%, 10%...any more. All the cmyk number changed. All the gradient names too.
I am sorry that I couldn't provide any screen shot coz yesterday I already deleted my own swatch and create a new one...which has no problem.

White or black -- heat issues when in the sun??

I have a black 4s now and I'm deciding between the white and black 5S later this month.
I tend to use my phone as my GPS and have a window mount that holds the phone up for me. However, this means that the back of the phone is frequently in direct sunlight and it gets pretty warm. As a result, I normally don't keep it in a case so that the air can better circulate to cool it.
SO, with the metal cases, will it matter much from a heat perspective if I get a white or black phone next? I think the white might stay slightly cooler, but I don't think it's going to be all THAT significant. Does anyone have any info/data/reasonably informed opinions??
