I live in india. I am planning to buy an iPad from US.  Will an iPad from US work in India?

Hello everyone
I am new to this Community and have a query.
I am planning to buy an iPad from US.
As I live in India , will my iPad work in INDIA?
Will I have to choose any specific carrier for that and why.
Thanks & Regards
Sushil Raisinghani

Well, first you have to come to the US to do that. When you do you will pay US sales tax in the state where you purchase it. Understand that once your return to India your warranty will not likely be honored, so you will have to return it to the US for any warranty repair. If you have it repaired in India by a non-Apple certified shop, then any further warranty will be voided.
Keep that all in mind before doing what you plan to do. You may find it is wiser to purchase it in India from an Apple certified reseller or retailer.

I am planning to buy an iphone 4 or 4s in saudi arabia. can i use it in India with a different sim card? plz reply

Yep, but you won't have any warranty or support for this phone in India, nor will you have FaceTime. FaceTime has been permanently removed from all iPhones purchased from official sources in Saudi Arabia.

  • Will the HDTV Hybrid Tuner work in India?

    Hi,
I recently bought a DV4 Pavilion with a built in HP Integrated HDTVHybrid Tuner. I purchased this product in the US for a family member in India. Was just wondering if the Tuner would work in India.
Any suggestions to get some additional hardware/software to make it work?
    Thanks

If by "3G" you mean GSM, yes, assuming of course that you use a carrier that offers a data plan for the iPad.

  • HT3939 Will Sprint 1429 CDMA phone work in India with GSM carriers

I am planning to purchase a Sprint CDMA phone from ebay & carry to India. Will it work in India with GSM carriers SIM?

    No.
Buy in India only, from warrantee and full function point of view.
You need to buy Model A1429 (GSM model).
Verizon, which has GSM port unlocked is better choice. But LTE would not work on this model in India with Indian operator's sim.

  • I'm thinking of buying an ipad wifi for my mom who lives in Kenya. Any issues I need to know about? Will the ipad work ok?

I'm thinking of buying an ipad (1) wifi for my mom who lives in Kenya. I understand the charger is universal and will work with an adapter. Any other issues I need to know about? Will the ipad work ok?
She is 68 years old and has vision problems. My thought is that it would be eaiser for her to see than a ipod touch. She would use it for music, maybe reading, some games. I'm not sure she would be adept enough to download many apps, so we'd prbably load it up for her.
    Thanks for any input!

She's going to need to update and at some point restore the iPad which requires a computer.
For vision problems she can enable zoom. Tap Settings / General / Accessibility.

  • I reside in india and im planning to buy iphone 6 from portugal. i wanted to know would the device have an international warranty available in my country or i would have to send it all the way back? thank you

asking about international warranty on iphone 6

I disagree with the other people who have commented. I have purchased several iPhones in US over the past years. I spend part of the year in Europe and I have had both iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s (purchased in USA) repaired in Germany. I have also had a faulty 4s purchased in Germany replaced under AppleCare in US because of technical problems. The only country I am aware that has country only warranty is Hong Kong. To be absolutely certain, I suggest you read the Apple warranty clauses as that clearly defines Apple International Warranty Policy. I would also recommend purchasing AppleCare. Hope this helps.

  • Will 40" Toshiba 40E220U TV work in India?

I bought a 40" Toshiba 40E220U TV in USA,will this TV work properly in India without any issues.

Nope. TVs built for the U.S. market use ATSC for their TV signals. In India, the TV signals use the PAL format. Unfortunately they are not compatible.

  • I do not plan to buy a new computer. Will I still be able to use Firefox on my MacMini PowerPC G4 OS X 10.4.11?

Your company has said it will no longer provide updates or support for older OS and PowerPCs. I want to know if I need to use another web browser that will be compatible with my MacMini PowerPC G4 OS X 10.4.11. I am not planning to purchase another "updated" computer just to be able to use Firefox, so I need to know my options. Computers are too expensive to replace if they are still in good condition and mine is still working for me.

I think the supports end latest days of April, see if you like, TenFourFox (from Mac Users) for PowerPC's running Mac 10.4.11 & 10.5.8

  • I purchased iPhone 4s from Riyadh Saudi Arabia but its not working in India

I purchased my iPhone 4S in saudi arabia shop, I took it to India there I tried to put sim card, it was showing no sim card. the people there told me that it may be locked for Saudi Arabia usage only.
How can I know wether it is really locked or not? or there is some other problem?

All iPhones sold by legitimate sources in KSA are unlocked.
Chances are you purchased a gray market phone from a street vendor or corner shop that was hacked to unlock it.
IF you believe you purchased it from a legitimate source, you will have to return it to KSA for service. The warranty is not international.

  • I plan on buying an iMac tomorrow. Will it work w/ 2Wire modem?

will the 2wire DSL work with the new iMac. I'm ditching the PC

Any DSL service works with a Mac, but you'll likely want to get a router too so that any other devices you have can also use the internet.

If your carrier supports a the mobile hotspot feature on the phone, it should work fine. I've used both an HTC Incredible and and HTC Thunderbolt with my iPad.

Apple's warranty and support are worldwide, with an exception that does not pertain here.

  • I am planning to buy an iMac 21.5 inch with Fusion drive and 16 GB RAM while i visit USA for a conference. My country of origin is India. Once i am back to India, will my iMac be covered by the Apple's Protection Plan?

I am planning to buy an iMac 21.5 inch with Fusion drive and 16 GB RAM while i visit USA for a conference. My country of origin is India and the option of configuring to my need is not avaialble here in India. My concern is once i am back to India, will my iMac be covered by the Apple's Protection Plan if something goes wrong here in India?
I recently came across some posts regarding International warranty related issues for iPhone and iPad....hence this crossed my mind...
Waiting for response from the support group members...

    Thanks Ralph
This essentially means that if my iMac develops some problem (both software and hardware) in my country (India), it will be completeley attended (even the whole system requires replacement) by the AASP in India...is that what you say?

  • I live in the UK but visit the US regularly. The price of a new MacBook Pro is much less in the US, and is where I plan to buy one. However, I have read that a US machine will not play UK DVD's. Is this true and if so is it possible to change the codes?

I live in the UK but visit the US regularly. I plan to buy a MacBookPro in the US but have read that it will not play UK DVD's. Is this so? If so, is it possible to change the codes?

All modern & new Macs can play both PAL and NTSC DVDs.  I do it all the time and it works perfectly.
The DVD drive is set to its first region code when you first play a DVD in it.  So when you buy a Mac, whatever type of DVD you play first will determine the initial region code that is set.   If it's a PAL/Region 2 DVD it will set the DVD drive to region 2.
The only thing you have to watch out for is if you have a collection of DVDs that have different region codes.  In those cases you may be faced with changing the region code in the DVD drive in order to play one or more of the DVDs; and as others have noted there is a limit to the number of times you can change the region code (most modern DVD drives allow up to 5 changes; the 5th change becomes the permanent change).  This is due to industry licensing practices.
If you have DVDs that are Region 0 or All Regions you don't have to worry about region codes.

  • Hi, planning to buy MD101, I will most be working on photoshop, playing live/audio production, occasionally render videos, mild gaming-prototype.gta4 types..my question is mac or windows? my budget stops at MD101 and no further :/

Hi, planning to buy MD101, I will most be working on photoshop, playing live/audio production, occasionally render videos, mild gaming-prototype.gta4 types..my question is mac or windows? my budget stops at MD101 and no further :/

    Hey thanks for the reply
its not like i must...but i do prefer apple for build quality and the way the os uses the hardware..
Priority of the laptop will be:
1- Going live with it, using softwares like ableton like or garageband to trigger samples and ambient patches with MIDI keyboard.
    2- Designing on photoshop
3 - Occasional video rendering mostly non hd but good quality like youtube 720p
4 - Gaming when i am bored - I am not at all into gaming but i would surely love to play some
But i want something that will be durable/storngly built and its hardware/processor good enough to run for 3-4 years.
Now if a laptop then which one?
    Thank you
