I live in Spain but want my iTunes in English

I live in Spain but want my iTunes in English.  How do I do this?

Carolyn's suggestion of changing the language in your iPad has absolutely nothing to do with what languages content is offered in from the iTunes Store.
You can only purchase music and movies from the iTunes Store where you are located. If the Spanish Store does not have the English language music and movies you want there is little you can do about it.
If you have a credit card and billing address in an English speaking country, you can create an iTunes Store account for that country and have access to it's movie and music offerings.
However, Apple states in the iTunes Store Terms and Conditions that it may use technical measure to prevent users from downloading Store content from countries they are not physically located in.
It's all to do with the licensing of music and movies for each country. Not all music and movies are licensed for sale in all countries - this is down to the music and movie studios - not Apple.

  • I live in Spain but want to buy films and books in English

    Hi
I live in Spain but want to buy my books and watch movies in their original language. I can only seem to find awful dubbed films into Spanish in my version of iTunes. pLEASE tell me how I can access this section in the store. Or at least buy/ rent films with multilanguage options. Having looked at the forum i see its not possible to change the language of the iTunes app (which is fine) but can we still buy original version / English media? As a longstanding customer of Apple I would be more than appalled to hear that that was not possible. Please help and or fix.

It IS definitely getting worse but not just in Spain. In the German store, you can no longer select movies in their original language (mostly English) either. What is Apple up to? Drive us all to Netflix, back to DVD or illegal streaming sites? Ridiculous. Wonder what the studios and other content providers think about this new policy....  I will stop using iTunes for movies etc if I have to watch dubbed stuff. As simple as that.

I live in Germany, but want to access iTunes store in English - how?

    1. iTunes (the application on your Mac) can be in English - it generally follows what your Mac's preferences are.
    2. iTunes store or App Store (where you buy apps, music, films etc) - by default you will be sent to the French store if you are geographically connecting from France. This is only in French (except for the outer level menus) and priced in euros and has different stuff available for purchase or rent than the UK or US store.
You can change your account preferences to choose the UK store, but you need a billing address in the UK. Then you can use the UK store. You can browse the UK store without a UK account but you can't buy anything.
So basically if you are English-speaking but living in France, you have no choice but to read French on the site and choose from the few VO and VOST (original version and subtitled) films that are on offer. I believe there are other options as stated above if you have a pre-purchased card.

You can try requesting that it be added to the US store, but ultimately it's the record company that will have to grant Apple a license to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
Is it available on any other music purchase download sites that you have access to ?

substitute any country that your account is in.
It has to do with licensing and copyright laws varying worldwide.
Yes, I know. Which is why I won't argue over it.   As I said I've never had an issue with it when travelling.
And Apparently the purchase is working fine for the OP, its the actual download that gets hung up.
Anyway, If the Purchase is going fine, then its more likely an issue with the internet connection.
Are you on Cell service when trying to download rather than Wifi?

  • I recently downloaded the latest iTunes update and now my menus are in Korean. I work in Korea but want my menus in English. I've never had this problem with updates before. How can I get English back? Thank you.

I recently downloaded the latest iTunes for Windows update, and now when I open iTunes my menus are in Korean. I live and work in Korea but want my menus in English like they always have been. I've never had this problem with updates before. How can I get English back? I'll appreciate any help.

    CTRL+, (Comma) brings up preferences
General is the tab on the left
Language is the last drop down control
English (UK) & English (US) are 9th and 10th on the list
Close iTunes & reopen to effect the change

  • Live in France but want to download Dutch books

Hello, I am Dutch and live in France and everything is coming on in French, what is not the biggest problem, but I would like to be able to use the Dutch video and iBooks store and throw away the French ones.... By the way I am an Aplle dummy, so not too technical please!

You can only buy content from your own country's store - to be able to buy content from another country's store you need a valid billing address in that country and be in that country when buying from it. You can try requesting that the items that you want be added to the French store, but ultimately it's the content providers that will have to grant Apple licenses to sell them there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
Do you have access to other ebook apps/stores which might have the ebooks that you want e.g. Amazon/Kindle, Nook, Kobo ?
