I loaded an Itunes update and now I am told to re-install Itunes.

Everything was working great, but after installing the last update, when I plug-in my IPOD I get the message, " the software required to communicate with the IPOD is not installed correctly. Please re-install Itunes to re-install the IPOD's software."
There is nothing that I can find that tells me how to re-install Itunes. Do I need to first un-install it? The IPOD works fine alone, Itunes works fine on the computer, but I can not get the computer to communicate with the IPOD.
I am not good with computers and this is the first issue i have ever had with m IPOD or Itunes, so any help would be very much appreciated.

I actually thought that this would be a fairly common thing.
Can anyone sned me to a link that tells me how to re-install Itunes?

Are you using Windows Vista on a Dell, HP, or another Windows (Microsoft) based laptop? Or are you using a Mac?

How come my screen always freeze when Mozilla brings up a new version. That happened on last Firefox update and now when the new Thunderbird was installed. This is really bugging me.

I am using Windows 7. This never happened when I used XP Professional.

Hi John, thanks a lot, I see that. It actually answers another question I have. I already had that box checked, but I never knew that dialogue box was there. Anyway, my MOTU midi express 128 is dimmed and all 8 midi channel lights are on which has never happened before so there must be something wrong with my midi setup now. sheesh! This helps a lot! I was having major problems too. I ended up completely uninstalling itunes then downloaded it again from http://www.apple.com/itunes/. If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes. Hope this helps...

Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

After charging the iPod for half an hour, see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Doublechecking before proceeding ... what's the precise text of that message, please? (There's a couple of different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)
