I loaded Firefox 4 and now I'm getting Java errors "uninstal set" what do I do?
I never got this message until I loaded Firefox 4. Now I'm getting this message and it's a pain.
Using Tools->Add-ons I disabled the Java plugins and the problem went away. I re-enabled them and it still works. I haven't rebooted yet.

I've partitioned my 1TB EHD and now I am getting an error message. What do I do now?
I have a 1TB EHD which I am using for TM back-ups. Looking at the drive, it showed two partitions, so I decided to enlarge the 2nd partition so I could use it for other things. The TM was allotted 850 G and the other partition the balance. (Each TM backup is prox 300G) When TM was ready for the next backup it said there was only 94G available on that space so I turned off the TM to eliminate the partition I had just created. It deleted it no problem and I enlarged the TM partition by dragging it to use up the whole drive. When the process was finished, I got this message:
So is this saying it wants me to back-up the back-ups I have on the TM? How do I do the back-up - do I copy the files over to another drive? They are exclusively TM backups and there are 17 of them. I don't have another drive that will hold all that data. Then how do I reformat the disk?Read the directions that came with the printer. Update to the latest drivers:

I have just upgraded to the icloud and now I am getting an error message on ical - saying "make sure the URL is correct", I haven't changed anything so why is it now an issue? any ideas?
The full message sasy "The calendar https:// cal.me.com:8443/principas/users/(server number) was not found on the server. Make sure the URL is correct.10.6.8 cannot access iCloud's facilities - you can set Mail up manually and there is a hack which some people have used to sync calendars (see below) - you cannot sync any other type of data.
This is the situation with iCloud and Snow Leopard:
Your email, calendars, and 'Find my iPhone' will be migrated to iCloud. Contacts and Bookmarks cannot be migrated from a Snow Leopard Mac.
Your iDisk, together with website hosting and Gallery, will continue to work as before until next June.
Syncing of Dashboard Widgets, Dock Items and Keychains between Macs, and Mail Accounts, Mail Rules, System Preferences, Signatures & Smart Mailboxes between Macs & iOS devices, will cease altogether.
You will be able to access email and calendars on the iCloud website at http://icloud.com provided your browser is reasonably up-to-date.
You will not be able to sync contacts or bookmarks from a pre-Lion Mac.
You will be able to enter the server settings for email manually in the Mail application and access your email.
You will not be able to sync your calendars directly.
Some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point. BusyCal is an iCal-like calendar application with extra facilities: it can sync with the iCloud Calendar while running on Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion.
There appears to be no method of syncing contacts (though Address Book on a Mac can be synced with Google or Yahoo address books - I don't know how reliable this is). -
I had to install a new hard drive on my macbook air and now I am getting unkown error whenever I try to login to itunes. Apple support suggested I reset my password so I did that and still the problem is occuring. Itunes and the app store are working normally on my ipad and iphone. Does anyone know what the problem is. The new disk was installed in France coz I am on holiday there. could there be something I need to change in my settings? I need help urgently as I am trying to finish an assignment and need to be able to access and download from icloud.

I updated my itunes this morning, and now I keep getting an error message when trying to burn a disc. Any ideas how to resolve this?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I just did the recent upgrade and now I keep getting an error message when I try to open a book on my Kindle app, I have deregistered the app and reloaded and the same thing happens, does anyone know how to fix?
You are seeing the message because the new AirPort Extreme has some specific System Requirements:

Setup and Administration
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
AirPort Utility 5.6.1 in Snow Leopard may or may not work correctly with the new Extreme for all functions. As long as things are working OK for now, you can probably leave them "as is" and wait for another Mavericks update to fix some issues before you "upgrade".
If you have an iPhone or iPad, you could use that to administer any settings changes on the new Extreme. -

Can't setup iCloud V 4. I get error: You have exceeded the maximum number of 25000 allowed events and tasks. I get this error no matter what choice I select to setup.
Is your I tunes ID an @me.com ID? If not, i cloud ONLY works with an @me.com ID. You will have two ID's. One for I cloud, one for I tunes

I have just recently updated my Firefox and now when I try to get on firefox it just keeps trying to load and then says it has stopped responding. I have uninstalled it and then re-installed it, this didn't help. Now have to use Internet Explore cause firefox wont work!

Not much more to add. I did a restore to an earlier time and still no joy. I am at a loss. I am not a totally savvy computer person at all, just know enough to get into trbl. As stated, I was required to change a password, yet the old password still appeared in the field, so I went into settings and deleted the old one, but now I cannot get Firefox to save the new password. And yes, I have wasted a lot of time attempting the "solutions" on the help sites, but nothing has worked. Thank you for any help.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode (Never remember history).

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving form data like name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox store form data like names and passwords.

Note that Firefox won't auto-fill saved form data automatically when autocomplete=off is used, so you need to double-click the empty name field to get a drop-down list. -
The question explains itself. I had AVG anti-virus, and now that I've updated Firefox I can't even use that!! I'm pretty pissed and frustrated.

MS Word is not an Apple product so it could not've downloaded with all the Apple software updates.
"I clicked File > Check for Updates"
What program were you running to do that?
In any case boot from your OS installer disk and run Repair Disk from Disk Uility.
