  • How do I enlarge the text in the toolbar of Safari 5. I need to be able to see the bookmarks that I've placed there. Also I would really like to be able to enlarge the icon size in the Safari toolbar too.

    I am hunting for help in being able to see the text in the toolbar on Safari... also, it would be helpful, too, if I could even enlarge the icons there. I'm dealing with a vision problem and finding that it's quite frustrating when I discover I've clicked on the wrong thing or I can't find what I want to click on up there. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

    Hi Dorothy,
    Took me awhile to get on a Mac that has Safari 5 on it, (I hate Safari past 3.x, so never update or use it).
    Anyway, I see no options for that at all, though I think it was rumored that 10.4, 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 would have it!
    I think your only options are to use the Zoom in Key Combo of CMD & +, or if you don't have a numeric Keypad then CMD+Shift+equal sign, or in System Preferences>Universal Access>Seeing tab, turn Zoom on, then Option+CMD+= will Zoom it in, Option+CMS+minus sign zooms out again.
    There may be some 3rd party system hacks around the text part, but they usually cause problems sooner or later.

  • When I try to customize the toolbar in Safari, it does it temporarily, but if I quit Safari and reopen it, it goes right back to the old toolbar.  Any ideas?

    When I customize the toolbar in Safari, it only shows the changes temporarily.  If I quit Safari and reopen it, the toolbar reverts back to how it was before.  Any ideas?

    Check System Preferences. Look at the bottom of the pane. Do you see Evernote?
    I just installed it so I could find it.
    Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Now open the lIbrary folder then the Internet Plug-Ins folder.
    Move the Evernote.plugin to the Trash. Restart your Mac. Try Safari.

  • Why is the toolbar in safari now black with white text after upgrading ipad 2 to ios7?

    My (retired) mum downloaded ios7 onto her ipad 2 yesterday but is now complaining that when she launchez Safari and uses google, the toolbar at the top of the screen is black with white text. She remembers something popping up during upgrade in the left of her screen about Privacy (?) which she clicked. Is there any way to return the tool/menu bar to its standard white with black text? Thanks.

    Tap the blue + sign in the upper right part of the toolbar. That will open a new tab with Favorites on the screen, if she has favorites in Safari. In the lower left corner she will see the word Private. Tap that to return to normal viewing mode again.

    In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
    Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
    Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

    Hi,
    Sorry, I misread your original post as saying 'you could still see the back/forward buttons but not the address bar'
    Based on the things you've tried so far, one quick test you can do to help narrow down things is to try Safari in another user account. This will help us to know whether your problem is local to your account or system wide. If you don't have another account you can use System Preferences -> Accounts -> \[+\] to create a test one (and \[-\] to remove it if needed)
    If the other account has the same problem, try downloading the 10.4.11 combo update (your original post mentioned 10.4.11 in your profile) from the Downloads link at the top of the page and then using [Pacifist|www.charlessoft.com] to extract the Safari package from the update.
    After that has been installed, download the Security Update 2007-009 v1.1 and re-run that to update Safari to the latest version.
    Let us know how you get on.

  • How to open Safari in true fullscreen without the toolbar?

    Hi. I have been using SAFT for some year under Snow Leopard to get a true fullscreen webpage view. But after all new mac now are delivered with Lion pre-installed i have not been able to figure out how to get my Safari to open the homepage in true fullscreen without the toolbar in the top showing.
    I know of the trick to right-click on the toolbar itself and choose hide, but I need a method that can go directly to the same fullscreen view without having to manually do this every time.
    Any tip on how to get this in Safari 5.1 for OSX Lion?

    PDL,
    Am getting the Error "No form is open in the Acrobat viewer" while trying to instantiate fields list inside the form via an AcroForms object. The problematic code snippet is given below
    iPDDoc->Open("PDFFileName")
    iAVDoc->AttachDispatch(PDDoc->OpenAVDoc("PDFFileName")), true);
    ipFormApp->CreateDispatch("AFormAut.App", &OleExc)
    i pFields = new IFields(pFormApp->GetFields());
    The GetFields method is giving error in Acrobat 9 but its working fine in Acrobat 7 and 8.
    Since the AV layer methods are working fine in Acrobat 7 and 8, please let me know why they are not working in Acrobat 9 and if there is any workaround.
    Also, if I use only PD Layer methods, can I access the form fields inside the PDF?

  • Customize Toolbar not constantly working, have tried Safari View Customize Toolbar to no avail.  Thnx in advance.r... Drag your favorite item into the toolbar...

    Customize Toolbar has been very "hit & miss" lately, attempts to add Google Search are failing.  I am using "Safari>View>Customize Toolbar> Drag" with little success.
    Any suggestions appreciated, thankx in advance.

    Ah - I read your initial question as to how to set Google as the search engine, rather than not having the Search field present in the Toolbar.
    First, make sure Show Toolbar is set in Safari's View menu - if it is set to show, it will state "Hide Toolbar" instead and you need not change that.
    Then, also in the View menu, choose the item "Customize Toolbar...".
    Click on the representation of that item (circled below) and drag it to the right end of the Toolbar, between the Address box and the edge of the window. A position marker should appear, at which time you can release it.
