I made my ipod forget four computers ( all in which i downloading music on itunes from ) now i have 11 songs when i had over 400, and i also cant add music to my ipod. HELP?

You can only sync with one computer. To switch syncing computers.
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

I imported a few CDs to my music library earlier and I tried to download them onto my iPod touch and it wouldn't work. The songs just have grey dotted circles beside them. I'm not sure what this means.. Anyways, since it wouldn't work on my touch I thought I'd try and put them on my nano. And sure enough when I synced it, it worked. Can someone please help me out? Compaq computer crashed and lost all music that was on the computer. How would I go about getting a listing of all purchased items and download them again? I know when i first got set up it said I could download up to 2 times when purchased and I have only downloaded once. But need a listing of songs as well.

One thing that I also recommend in the future is to back your iTunes library up relatively regularly. You can get your purchases in the cloud just fine, typically, but at the very least, it will save some time by backing it up.

Sorry. There's nothing anyone can do. The current version of the facebook app will not run on 4.2.1. The iPhone 3G won't run anything higher than 4.2.1. You're stuck.
Maybe it's time to buy yourself a new iPod Touch.

You can go to iTunes, and download any music tracks for free if you have already downloading them. Same goes for apps, go to the App Store on your iPod, Updates, and then Purchased. From there, download anything for free (that you purchased before). All app progress will be saved too.
OR, if you have a reliable backup, you can restore from that.

I'm having the same problem on an iphone 4s running iOS8; when i updated to iOS8, all my ringtones went missing, and when i got a £50 gift card for christmas (2014), I purchased some songs from the iTunes store on my iPhone. i downloaded songs from paramore, panic! at the disco, coldplay, and imagine dragons, over wi-fi, and they went into my iphone music library; but when i re-opened the music app a few days later, in a place where i had no wi-fi, except for my 3G phone signal, some cloud icons appeared next to my newly purchased songs, telling me to re-download them from the cloud, when i haven't even deleted them. this has happened twice now, and i had to use up some of my 5GB data allowance to redownload them from the cloud. This is annoying and i need to fix this issue ASAP.

Do a Spotlight search or do a logical search along folders that make sense such as looking in the music folder first. Moving a library correctly should not result in any loss, and I can't think of any way to move a library and lost just a select grouping of files. How were you trying to effect this?

All you can get back is your iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You will have to rerip the CDs unless you can find a copy.
When you restore or update an iPod, if synced media is not in the iTunes library it will not be on the iPod after the restore/update since the backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

If you subscribed to iTunes match the songs are kept in icloud. If you didn't but you did save the actual iTunes library folder which should include the music, video, etc. you should be able to just drag this file back to your machine in the same place and when you open iTunes it will give you a chance to identify the iTunes library folder.
You can test this to find out if you saved the media files or not and don't need to attach your nano to do it.
You are correct that once you connect the nano it will clear the existing files from it and sync it with the new iTunes library.
If you don't have the media files i'm not sure if/how to get them back on a windows ipod. I have everything backed up regularly because of the horror stories I have seen & heard.

It should ne in itunes on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
If for some reason you have failed to backup your music, then - in the U.S only - you can get previous itunes purchases from the beta version of icloud. Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links.

If your back up was successful, then just resync. The books are there. If they are not, simply go back to the bookstore and redownload them for free.
