I lost all my emails

I tried to move the emails from one file onto a file on my desk top using Export.
Now ALL email folders are empty, and when I go to the desk top file and try to reverse it, nothing happens.
Where did all my email go and how can I reinstate it where it belongs? Work will grind to a stand still if I can not find those, fast.
Can anyone offer a suggestion/

iCloud is not a backup system, never was.
Backup of your data is your responsibility, losing it can be what happens if you choose not to backup and that appears to be the situation in your case now. I am sympathetic but blaming it on someone else likely means that you will do it again.

Incoming is imap.mail.me.com. Outgoing is smtp.mail.me.com (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864). But if you're setting up iCloud mail on OS X Lion or higher, you go to Settings>iCloud and check Mail. This will add the account with the proper settings.

If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

See if any of the following clears them. Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't remove them then try closing the Mail app via the taskbar : double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then swipe or drag the Mail app's 'screen' up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
Also do a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Last night the mail application from Apple lost all my old emails, which were stored in mailboxes, neatly sorted by category. What happened and how do I find them?
Details: I shut down mail to run errands outside my office. My late model MacBook Pro was on "sleep". When I returned, I opened the application, and (RATS!) all the mailboxes were missing. They just evaporated.
Operating system: 10.7.2 - all software updates installed and current as of 24 hours ago (12-30-11, 6 AM EST).
ln the mail program, the trash folder is OK and the sent folder is OK.
Yesterday, I did no maintenance on my mail folders.

That was most likely the result of some kind of corruption, as I've already said, not a bug in Mail. Have you repaired the hard drive with Disk Utility recently? That wouldn't be a bad idea.
2 - at random times, mail (or the server) says that my password is incorrect and I must reenter (fix: usually I can quit mail, restart, and the connection is restored without reentering my password)
This is a known issue, where a failure to respond promptly on the server's end mimics what happens when the password is rejected. There's no need to quit Mail, just cancel when asked to enter the password, take the account back online and try again.
3 - mail seems to resort the mail in my mailboxes at random time. Several times a day, I must reset the sort to (a) by date; (b) by desending
Never seen that before. That points more to some kind of possible corruption in your Mail data or preference files.

Lost all my emails on my iPhone.

the other day my iphone 4 froze on me! so i reset the iphone and when it came back on i'd lost all my saved emails that were on my phone. they are still in my mail account but dont know how to get them back on my phone without just resending them to my email account so i have double copies.
if anyone could hel; i would greatly appreciate it! if theres anything else you need to know to fix the problem pleaase let me know!

Try restoring from backup if they were one the iPo when you last backed up. To restore from backup see:

Lost all my email need to know how to get them back

The computer was on and the cord was pull from the computer. Reconnected the cord restarted the computer everything is fine but my email was lost (all of my emails ). My email is with cox cable they could not help me. I have an HP Pavilion Elite HPE 450f with windows 7 operating system

Since the emails are from Cox cable and Windows 7 does not provide an email client software, what software was being used to access the emails? Also since Cox cable did not help, I assume that means that the emails were no longer residing on their servers. If the computer still works OK expect for that you cannot find the emails, they must still be on the computer somewhere. We just need the software name to then search for the folder.

Lost all sent email on iCloud ?

Seems like I lost all my sent emails on icloud today...anybody experience the same problem.

I'm having a similar issue but in regard to all my emails in my Inbox.
Interestingly, I still have a few emails going back to 2007 and 2008 in the inbox but everything from then to know is gone on my Mac in Apple Mail.
My emails appear to still be on my iOS devices and online in iCloud just lost on my MacBook Pro.
I called Apple Support and they want to charge me $20 to help me even though I'm already PAYING for my iCloud account, not the free version.

After installing Firefox I lost all inbox emails for outlook for 2014 and all older emails are red flagged.

I have now removed Firefox and named Outlook as my default browser. Still no emails for 2014. I am using Outlook 2010. Its odd that all the emails are now flagged. I am using Windows 7. I would really like to recover the lost emails.

Are you using the Outlook 2010 that comes as part of Microsoft Office 2010? You may want to try a forum that is more specific to that product, such as:

I updated my wife's iphone and lost all my emails

Emails aren't stored on the iPhone, they are stored on the mail server, so updating iOS would not lose your emails.
And why would updating your wife's iPhone cause you to lose your emails. There should be no connection between your wife's iPhone and your email accounts.

I have had problems sending and receiving emails and have resorted to restarting my mac everytime I want to check on new emails. I have just restarted again and appear to have lost all my my emails with the exception of the apple news folder. Can anyone help??? please???

If you search these forums for Mac Mail problem you will find many many posts similar to yours and many many others about not being able to send or receive emails when it worked fine a few hours ago or yesterday.
It is because the built in Mac Mail program is one of the Worst Email clients ever written and WILL, not can, Fail at any time.
So if you want to not have any of these type problems in the future stop using Mac Mail and switch to some other, Any Other, Email client/program.
I suggest Thunderbird as I have been using it on both Mac Lion and Mt Lion and on my Windows PC for over a year without any problems on either platform or OS version.

How can I recover my previous information, do not know what happened but I lost all my emails contact address books and folders.

I was trying to send an email starting from the PDF reader and when it was about to send the mail, wiht out any reason all my emails dissappear.

Try this and see if your mail comes back.
Quit the Mail app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
