I lost all my photos and videos when I synced my iPod touch 5G with my computer, is there anyway to retrieve them?
I think it updated the system aswell.
On the computer go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and see if a backup is listed. If no backup then unless you backet up to iCloud then, as I said my first reply:

My PC Windows 7 hard drive crashed. I have a new hard drive. But i lost all my CD's that i had burned onto iTunes. They are all still on my iPhone 4s, but when i sync, only the purchased songs will import. Is there anyway to retrieve them? Thanks!
Restore your library from your most recent backup (you do keep regular backups, I hope). If the hard drive is in any way salvageable it may be possible to mount it in an external enclosure, connect it to your PC, and retrieve data from it even if it is not functioning as a primary OS drive (if you don't have the kit necessary to do this, your local PC repair shop may be able to help). Failing that, you can always recreate your library by re-importing your CDs.

just restored my iphone to be like my ipod and I lost all my photos and videos..is there any way to get them back?
You restored your iPhone with iTunes from the backup for your iPod Touch?
If so, photos/videos that were in your iPhone's Camera Roll should have been imported by your computer before doing this. You could then transfer these photos/videos back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. -

Next time, be more careful. Upload photos and videos to your computer as soon as possible after taking them so they can be stored and archived safely on the computer -
system restored it's self after a recent operating system upgrade 8.0 and kept shutting down and restarting ,asked to be linked to my mac ,,so I did and it totally reset it's self ,all my apps ,photos and videos are gone from the day I bought the ipad...looked in itunes and I cloud and they are not there,,is it possible to recover all my photos now after a complete restore has happened?
Do you have a back up?
If not you're into using file recovery software like File Salvage - you can download a free trial and it will scan the disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.
There are other such apps. Search on Macupdate or the App Store -

Thanks in advance for your answers and comments.This means that when I try to see synced photos in my IPhone or iPad the photos appears with lines of shadows, with some parts in green, with some pixels in black and white, some lines in white, etc. I never had this kind of problems, my photos are ok in my Mac and it's happening with old photos and photos that I took a week ago (so, this is not a problem with photos taken with my new iPhone, this a problem with all my photos when I sync it to those devices).
On the other hand, when I play my videos, the videos stop and play, freezing images and not reproducing images and voice simultaneously.

Lost photos and videos after a restore on ipod touch
I forgot my ipod touch passcode while out of town. I visited the apple store for help and they restored it to factory settings and recommended that I restore it from my itunes account when I returned home. In the mean time, I took amazing photos in a foreign location. When I got home, I restored my ipod and, after it synced, learned that my amazing photos had been deleted during the restore. Is there any way to recover those photos/videos? Please help!
Not now. There was chance before you restored your iPod on your computer.

I sync all songs, photos and videos between my computer and iPod classic with no problems, but when I get to sync info I get this message: "iTunes cannot sync Calendar and contacts to iPod. Try logging out of Windows adn then logging back in". Could you please help?
Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

I've synced my phone, accidentally, to my wife's account and now lost all me photos and data... Is there any way of retrieving it all? The bigger problem is I can remember when my phone was last synced to my account so the info list is not on there either
To see if there are any backups of your device on the computer, go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
Moving the mouse over the listed backups will tell you to which device they belong.
If there is no backup of your phone listed, your data is gone.

You may need to prepare yourself for a "World of Hurt" from your wife...
Since the average 0.9 megapixel JPEG photo file of normal graphic complexity stored at a high quality compression setting is 125-135 KBs in size, I would have to assume any QT video files you created of more than a fraction of a second in duration were most likely saved as "reference" files to only be 50-150 KBs. Basically, a reference file is q QT (MOV) file that tells a video player how to play data that is still stored in its original source file container(s). For instance, you could trim and merge a number of files together and save the result as a "reference" file that takes up very little room on your hard drive. Or, you could post fles to a server and create a "reference" file that is small enough to be sent as an email attachment that plays the uploaded data on someone else's computer as long as they are connected to the Internet. Unfortunately, for these reference files to work, all of the resources referenced within the file must continue to exist in their proper locations in order to be found and played by the reference. Since you did not indicate what "but they won't play" really means here or how you actually "moved" your iPhoto library files to the external drive, I can only make some "educated guesses" at this point. (BTW: for future reference, iPhoto has a built-in function that allows you to copy your library to one or more back-up locations and then connect to them by default when iPhoto opens or switch source libraries at will within the opened application.)
If you created reference files and saved them to an external drive, you should be getting an error message telling you the app needs to know where the source files are located so the reference file can re-connect to the resource data. If the original files were also saved, then simple navigate to the source files in oder to tell the app where they are now located. If the source files were deleted as part of the reformatting process, then you are up the proverbial creek whithout a paddle with little or no hope of doing anything about this issue. (I.e., reformatting and then re-installing a system drive usually means you would have little hope of recovering the specific "lost" data you want as there is always a good chance that some of the data segments were overwritten during the process.) -
I updated my iPad but all my photos and videos were gone and it's the first time i've updated it.
I wanted to put my photos into a folder through my iPad but I couldn't.
So for the first time ever since I bought my iPad 2 years ago, I connected it through my daughter's MacBook and connect to iTunes.
iTunes prompted me to update my iOS to the currect version.
When I do so, all my photos and videos were gone. Those photos were important so how do I retireve it all back?Ok if your running the latest version of iTunes on your pc or mac go on iTunes connect your iPad to your MacBook using your USB cable and wait for it to respond then click restore to whatever version you were on when you had your photos then backup on iTunes and upgrade then when your update finished and your done with the setup on your iPad click restore from backup. My parent's IPad is SUPER outdated and I'm trying to buy an app for my brother for Christmas. However, I can't buy the app because it says we need to update the software. The thing is, the computer that was connected to the IPAD, we no longer have. So is there any way I can update it on my mac without erasing all the photos and videos?

I deleted all my photos and videos and then delete the deleted files but the photo app is still taking up 12 GB of space and I have no room for new stuff. How can I clear the memory space used by my deleted videos and photos? I don't know why the photos are still taking up space and if I will have to reset my phone to get rid of the problem.
