I restored my iphone 4S to have all my contacts lost !
I back my iphone on itunes and icloud
I need to get my contacts back as i have not used any other backup service expect that of apple
Please retrieve my lost contacts

If you did not set up the phone to sync with an address book app on your computer or with the address book app in iCloud then they are gone forever. If you DID sync with one of those they should come back the next time you sync.

My iPhone has recently been crashing (or rather the apps) when I would try to access my text messages, contacts, phonebook, facebook, or email. I tried restarting my phone and lost all of my contacts. This has been happening more and more frequently. Today I was in my pictures and was trying to crop one and my phone shut off completely. Anyone know what's wrong with it or how to fix it?
Make sure all apps are fully closed:
- double tap your home button
- hold your finger on an app
- when the apps start to wiggle press the red "-" button on all the apps
Now do a hard reset:
- hold the home button and the sleeps/wake button down at the same time
- the phone will shut off then when the apple logo ppears release both buttons
If by then your contacts have not been restored you would need to try and retreive them from a back up on itunes/icloud that was made when the contacts were on the phone. You could even stream them from the cloud if they were synced to the cloud. The link beow will show you how to restore from an itunes/icloud back up:

Hello, just last night I lost all of my contacts on my iPhone 4. I have never used, nor synced my Iphone to my iCloud, or iTunes. How can I recover my lost contacts??

How do I fix this?!?You need to hook up your phone to a computer that is running iTunes, and that has been authorized with your AppleID. Once iTunes is installed on your computer (Windows or Mac), then you would hook up your phone to the computer using the USB cable that came with the phone so you can sync it:

Once you have sync'd your phone, it is a good idea to do so regularly if you are not planning on using iCloud. If you decide to use iCloud (which is free for the first 5 GB of storage), then much of your stuff will be backed up on the Cloud on a regular basis, and the need to sync to iTunes becomes less urgent. Hope this all works out for you. I'm sure this is a really hard time for you, and to have to go through a whole new learning curve at the same time is going to be difficult. If they're gone from icloud.com, then they aren't in iCloud. You could try waiting a while to see if this was caused by a server glitch and they will reappear. You could also try contacting Apple support to see if there is anything they can do at their end: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/.
Otherwise, you may be able to restore them by restoring your last iCloud backup. Doing this is a bit tricky, as you have to interrupt the restore process as soon as your phone restarts while restoring, either by putting it in airplane mode or pulling the internet connection to your router. If you don't, iCloud will overwrite and erase any restored calendars. Then you can disable iCloud calendar syncing and save the calendars to your phone, re-enable your wifi connection and let the restore process proceed, delete any existing calendars from icloud, and turn on icloud syncing on your phone again to upload the recover calendars to iCloud. While this was written for contacts, just replace calendars for contacts and for the same instructions. -

you only want to sync from 1 or the other. not both. i recommend sticking with one backup area. in your info section of itunes, make sure that you are not selecting to replace the data on the device.

Well i was told by an apple guy at the store to restore my phone as a new one to remove al bugs. so i did and lost all of my contacts so i am trying to find out if i can find my contacts somewhere on my computer so i can re-enter them.
If you had previously configured to sync Contacts with outlook, google or yahoo contacts, you can do the same to recover your contacts.
Otherwise two options:
Restore from backup. Right click your iPhone under 'Devices' on iTunes left Pane and select 'Restore from Backup'. Pick the old backup date and restore. But then this will bring back your old issue you had on your iPhone.
The other option is to use a third party software to extract info from your backup folder.
