I updated my iphone 5 to software release 7.1.1 and have lost my facetime icon. I no longer find facetime in settings however I do find the facetime icon under "use for cellular data" but I can not locate it anywhere on the phone.

That's exactly right. And since you have a MacBook Air (as I do), that means the synching should occur just fine (if you've set it up right in iTunes). In other words, once you actually do the update, the iTunes on your MacBook Air will re-sync your photos back to your iPhone.
Basically, the process is that your iPhone gets backed up, wiped clean, then the new iOS version gets installed, then the backup gets restored. That will restore everything in the article above, which does not include your photos. But the sync process that happens after the iOS installation would restore your photos from iPhoto given you've set it up that way in iTunes.
When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, while looking at the iPhone's summary page, click "Photos" on the right side of iTunes to see how you have your sync set up.
Regardless, it sounds like you'll be fine! Your photos will wind up in iPhoto once you place them there. They will be safe there. -
When I subscribed to iTunes Match I lost all my songs. I did a back up of my ITunes Library to iCloud but I can't find the songs! Can someone help me?
I guess the iTunes store is not recognizing your computer. Did you de-authorise your computer after you uploaded to iTunes Match. Did you register your new computer with a different User ID? Do you have Genius turned on (which needs to be on as it works in conjunction with iTunes Match. Did you authorise your new computer?
You paid for ITunes match & uploaded your songs using a different computer. So there are obviously one or more steps which need to be taken to download your media from the iCloud. I do not have sound on some web sites like YouTube. I lost the option to mirror from the Mac to the TV but I was able to solve that. Any suggestions on recovery of files? I do not use TimeMachine and did not back up anything before the Mavericks installation. I know...that's bad. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have lost the document and cannot find it anywhere.
I have been working on a lengthy document all evening in Pages.
I went to highlight it all (cmd A) to regularise the font etc, and I think I hit Alt just afterwards and the document has disappeared. I cannot find it anywhere, not in trash, documents or finder.
Please, has anyone any ideas where it may be and how I can find it?Menu is the bar of pull down menus at the top of your screen.
"Window" is the 3rd from the right.
Open documents are listed at the bottom of the Window menu.
Select any you want to come to the fore.
It has occurred to me that you may have hit a key combination with all the text selected, so the text got replaced with nothing and that is what you are talking about.
Menu > Edit > Undo as many times as makes your material come back.

I have been using Adobe Premiere Elemnts on my Mac for years have done several project with no problems.
I have had this trouble in the pass but its back. Usually It fixes itself However I didnt have maverick. The message

Says it works with Mountain Lion but it seems that no one has posted data on use with Mavericks.
You might be better off upgrading Premiere Elements. I've no idea what the 'current' version id as I use Premiere CC.

What you are asking isn't clear. Are you saying that you are not getting any temp readout for the drive? What are you using to see the internal temps? If you aren't getting any output from the drive temp sensor, the drive fan should be revving up full speed. Is this happening?

It's a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder, check the utilities folder as this is a common one for it to disappear into. Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it. Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
