I lost iTunes & iPod icons on my iPad 1 & my iPhone when doing new ios5 upgrade
Any ideas or has this happened to anyone else?
That's what backups are for. Use Time Machine. It's free and external drives are cheap. To recover your iPhone's content requires the use of third party utilities. Success is not guaranteed. Read:

Ive never used that but I think there is a find ipod app. But im not sure. The ipod might have had to have it on?

iPad locks up when doing iOS upgrade. Screen shows iTunes icon and connector. System will not power up or restart. Any ideas?
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY. -
I want to take remote access from an iTunes library off of my iPad ...when I hit edit from the remote app it pulls that library up ..if I delete it I just want to make sure that I'm not remotely wiping out the library, just access to it from my iPad ?
Call the apple store you got it from and ask them. Sometimes in the past they've extended the 'no questions asked return' but only Apple can tell you for sure.

I have our music collection on iTunes Match for my PC, ipad and iphone.
Can I share that music collection with my wife so she can play that with her iphone? Even though she has a different Apple ID from me?Her iPhone will need to be set up to iTunes Match using your Apple ID to be able to share music via iTunes Match. Otherwise you'll have to download the music to your computer and then copy those tracks into her iTunes library, assuming hers is separate.

I have tried numerous times to connect to ITunes Store to update my current apps and continue to get this message. Apple has determined that it is not a device problem or an Apple problem. It has to do with ITunes. Can anyone help?I am having no problems downloading from the app store today. I just tried it again. However, I read some of those other discussions as well and there have been times when the iTunes or App Store has been out of commission. Don't hold your breath waiting for Apple to acknowledge it because that is not going to happen. That is not how they operate.

All devices are connected to the same network and able to upload / download normally.
All good but the airplay icon.. There is no AirPlay icon on either iPad or iPhone?
On top of this, until few days ago both devices where able to AirPlay to my apple tv...
Basically I have no clou about what's going on and would be grateful for support...
ThanksSolved.. I simply disconnected and connected again all devices from the wifi network. I already did earlier and did not work but now it did.
Maybe is due to the sequence. Now I disconnected first iPad and iPhone and afterwards the apple tv. Then i connected again all devices but in reverse order.

It sounds like you would like to sync your phone to your new computer. I would start by using the following article to transer your iTunes and App Store purchases to your computer from your phone.

Note: If you had content that was not purchased from the iTunes Store you will need to re import the content from its original media, to your iTunes library separately.
Then backup your device to iTunes with this article:

After your puchases are transferred, and your device is backed up you can Erase and Sync the device, and restore your backup to it, that way moving forward you can sync it like you used to.

message displays itunes cannot read the contents of the iphone when connected on a laptop. Doesnt let me back up and sync and asks for restoring to factory defaults??!!

If the content on your iPhone cannot be read by iTunes, then you will need to follow the directions in the popup and restore your iPhone to the factory settings. You can then try and restore from a previous backup.

How do you not share contacts when having an iPad and iPhone when you share an apple ID
Presumably you mean you are sharing the same iCloud account? Except for turning off contacts on one of the devices, you can't stop sharing contacts. iCloud accounts are not designed to be shared among different people with different personal data.
You should each gave your own personal iCloud account, setup under your own individual AppleID.
You can still use the shared AppleID for the iTunes and AppStore purchases you already have though. -
Since updating my iPad and iPhone to the new software iOS6, my wifi has not been working properly I'm either getting a very week signal or the signal is dropping completely. Has anyone noticed this?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
