I lost my brand new sealed iPhone 5c

So I stayed in a Hotel for a few days, and within those days i bought an iPhone 5c, bue I think I lost it there, because I left the Hotel without it... It was brand new, it was sealed I didn't even started it up. I called to the Hotel reporting my lost phone and they said they didn't find it in the room I was. Is there any chance to get it back with the serial number (i have the receipt) ?

Report it to the police in the city where you lost it. There probably is little chance of getting it back.
What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cellular. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

Hi I just lost my brand new laptop in a taxi. Can it be tracked? Thanks.

"...I just lost my brand new laptop in a taxi..."
left not lost. Happens all the time. I found an iPhone once in a taxi and someone once someone left one in Starbucks. Those returns were easy. I would follow steve369's advice, call the taxi company and hope for the best. Good luck. Next time when in a taxi or limo maintain the bag strap across your body.

  • I am getting "an unknown error has occurred" when trying to download any free apps from my brand new 4GS iPhone

I am getting "an unknown error has occurred" when trying to download any free apps from my brand new 4S iPhone.
    Please Help!!

I had the exact same problem.  Worked fine for a couple days then suddenly getting this error.  I fixed it, however.
    Do this:
Open the App Store app on your phone.
    Go to the "Featured" section.
Scroll to the very bottom of the page and click on your Apple ID.
Screen pops up. Choose "Sign out".
Scroll to the bottom of the "Featured" section again.
    Sign back in.
    Try your download again.
This worked for me.  Good luck!

can i use a brand new verizon iphone 4s on tracfone byop?
    has anyone tried?

The iPhone 4S is locked to Verizon; not sure if it can be used on other domestic carriers if it is unlocked. You would need to contact both Verizon and Tracfone about this.

  • Bought a brand new sealed MBP off ebay but it has build defects, will Apple replace?

I recently bought a brand new sealed macbook pro from ebay from a top rated seller for £835 which was a good price considering it is was sealed etc. When I opened the box and took a real close look at the machine I noticed a few serious build faults.....
    1. This is the most serious, when the laptop is closed the left side of the laptop is noticeably bent as if its been molded wrong or something, there are no impact marks whatsoever.
    2. The track pad is supposed to be flush but mine dips slightly on the left side which is evident when you look closely and run your finger around the edge of the track pad.
    3. There are two small scratches on the right side of the macbook.
    4. The bottom plate is also supposed to be completely flush with the case but like the track pad mine is defective, it is flush on the right but not on the left.
One of the main reasons I went for a mbp is because of the reputation for quality, I bought this laptop from a reputable seller who has a very high feedback score and multiple comments from happy users who bought the same laptop I did, so I definitely know he was not selling faulty stock.
I rang Apple today and they said that they could not offer me a replacement as I bought it from a third party but they made an appointment at a store for tomorrow...
My question is .... do these defects fall under poor workmanship from Apple and should I be entitled to a replacement. The laptop was literally brand new and the warranty on it was registered on the 16th april by me on the day I received it..... I emailed the seller who then rang me within 20 minutes and he advised me to take it to an apple store and they will replace it as its not something that can be repaired. Please give me some advice. All advice is welcome.
    Thank you for reading

First of all, if you would have bought that from Apple, you would have got a replacement right away--no questions asked. I just bought a new MacBook Pro and could have got it cheaper off eBay too, but i didn't want to go though a hassle like you are now.
Apple will repair it. The only way they will replace it, is if they can't get it fixed after 3 repair attempt. Keep all your case numbers. If for any reason you are not satisfied in the end, call Apple Customer Relations and deal with them--not support. Good luck!

  • Chip in brand new White iPhone

This morning I noticed a chip in my brand new white iPhone.  I haven't dropped it or anything, it's on the edge of the phone right below the button.  Should I take it in?? I shouldn't have a chip if I haven't done anything to it!

Take it in.  You've nothing to lose.

  • Brand new to iphone and OSX programming.. [A Few newb Qs]

Hey guys, I'm really glad apple has these forums 'cause I could use some peer advice.
I've seen the iPhone get bigger and bigger, and I'd like to be a part of software development for it. I think it could open up some pretty interesting doors for me.
I've come up with an idea for a fun little calculator program to start out with, however, i kind of have no idea what im doing. I've taken a few college 101-esque courses on Java, and I know a bit about C++, but what I learned in those classes w/ those languages doesn't seem to be helping me much.
I'm really not sure how to begin to learn iPhone programming. Objective-C seems like a distant cousin from C++. I've read a bit of the documentation on Apple's DevConnection, but i feel like when i read the sample code(the table suite for example) I get completely lost.
I've followed Apple's guide to making the HelloWorld Application(for iphone) which seemed to be a big help until i decided to read more on Tables. (I've decided my calculator program is going to be table based)
It seems as though the tablesuite code is written without the use of the interface builder. I think this could be one of the things confusing me, because the helloworld app teaches one how to link the two together.
    Questions:
Is there any other documentation that is in the form of a tutorial like the HelloWorld App one?
Can you guys offer any advice to someone that is brand new to this get started? (I've watched the user experience stuff, and own an iphone, so I know how to plan my interface to look/work in the proper way)
How to i change the Tables in the basic Table-suite code to a grouped table. (1 group, lots of rows)
I've tried to follow apple's table documentation but the code they show and what is actually there seem to be two different beasts.
Thanks for any help you can give guys. I'm looking forward to being a part of this iPhone development world, I just need a boost getting started.

In addition to the usual two books for learning Cocoa and Objective-C (Hillegass and Kochan), you might want to check out Apple's Core Data tutorial, which has some table programming in it:

  • I bought a Brand New (Unopened) iphone 6  but realised I wanted the 6. Can I swap this at the apple store?

I ended up buying an iPhone 6 Plus through Optus about 6 weeks ago but as I was away I did not get it until yesterday.  I only realised this is the larger phone and I require the smaller phone.  Am I able to get this swapped over in the Apple Store?  It is sealed, brand new.

OK thanks.  Was hoping apple would allow a walk in and swap as I need to mail it back to optus and their turnaround is roughly 10 business days... oh well.  Thanks for the reply.

    Hi Allan,
Sorry for the rant up there..   Thanks for your quick response.  I couldn't get to an Apple store and can't order anything from the States that contains Lithium ION batteries -- no U.S. Postal Services will deliver these to us anymore.  Target sold this to me as an unactivated Sprint phone.  I never activated it through Sprint in the States and just took it to Germany with me.  I updated to vs.6.0 via ITunes and without the Sprint SIM Card installed.  The IPhone is now accessible (Apps, Settings, etc., to be able to check firmware, et al., settings.  However, I can't tell if it's unlocked (since I upgraded the version without the Sprint SIM Card installed) until I go to the local cell phone shop and stuff in a BASE (provider) SIM card and test it out.  Is there a way to tell whether or not the phone is unlocked without a SIM card in it?  I don't think there is....

  • Spent $50 on a component cable -$50 + brand new tv + iPhone 3g = nothing

I just ( 3 hours ago) purchased an Av component cable (model #MB128LL/B) from the apple store in hingham, MA. After being assured it would work with my brand new Westinghouse flat screen I brought it home and plugged it in. I get a message that says...not compatible want to go airplane. Regardless of my answer I get no video on tv. iPhon screen plays video with no sound. Tv says no input. Any thoughts? I called the my apple line and was told call Westinghouse. Specs on tv (SK-26H640G) says it works with any component device that outputs 480i, 480p, 720P or 1080i. As far as I know my iPhone 3g outputs 480i? What is the problem?

I have used my component cable (bought from Apple) with the original iPhone, 3G, and 3GS with multiple TV's never had issue.
You should NOT be getting they whole "airplane mode" message.
Seeing that message is usually 1 of two things. 1 the cable (thing being attached) really is not compatible (but in this case, that cable is) OR 2, your dock port on the phone has issues. Each pin does something unique. Some are for charging, some are for syncing, some are four audio, some are for video, etc etc. Depending on what it is being plugged in, it activates certain things. If the phone's dock port is messed up on some pin that is just used for video out you may never have noticed until now.
I would schedule appointment at Apple store to bring in your cable and phone and try out on some screen there. If they see it having issues, they can try a different cable, if still issues, they can try on another phone and if that works, they can replace for you.

  • Brand new sealed ipad air wifi stolen whilst on shipping

brand new ipad stolen whilst on shipping, can it be traced as im
going through hardtime arguing with the courier company who was handling my post , can serial number locate where the ipad is or find my ipad as it completely new and its on wifi only
    thank you

Your courier company had custody of it, they are responsible for it.
there may be a record of its serial number somewhere, but as KP said, it can't be tracked that way.
Replacing your iPad will be the responsibility of the courier so you need to look into their policies and work with them.

  • I lost my brand new iphone can i get it back?

I got my iphone stolen at soccer practice on monday and i have been to a atnt company and radio shack and they cant track it . i was wondering if you could trck it with the cell phone number or somthing.

No one here can track it as we're all users like yourself.
    Apple does not track devices.
It is the user's responsibility to keep their valuables secure.
Apple does provide the "Find My iPhone" feature IF you enabled it.
If you did not, there is nothing that can be done.
Report it stolen to the carrier and law enforcement... then pull out your credit card and buy a new one at full retail or turn the issue over to your insurance company, if you have insurance.

  • Swapping brand new black iPhone 4 for a white one

I recently lost my white iPhone 4 and managed to pay for a new one through my insurance, however I was sent a black iPhone 4. I have not used the new phone nor removed it from its packaging. Would I be able to trade this in at the apple store for a white iPhone 4?
    Thanks.

If you didn't get the iPhone from the Apple Store, then the chances of them allowing an exchange is very small, but you can ask. Most dealers, and this includes the Apple Stores, will only accept a return of a product purchased from that store.
    Good luck.

  • On my brand new today Iphone I tried to buy a ringtone and I can't answer my security questions. Please help.

How do i change my security questions?

Did you do the Super Duper clone before you tried to reinstall the OS? If so, the original install disc is likely earlier than 10.4.11, and that may be why you are getting the message.
When trying to reinstall the OS, did you select the "Archive and Install" option? If not, you might try that. Here's a link that might help:
