You can only add the device to Find my iPhone if you have the device. Open Settings > iCloud, and turn on Find my iPad.
As you didn't turn it on, you can't track it. The only thing you can do is to report it to the police

ICloud shows 'no devices' even though my iPhone has the FindMyPhone app installed and is logged into the iCloud account. How can I get the phone to show up?

My phone signs in OK with iCloud, and iCloud syncs the calendar etc. OK, but FindMyPhone app does not work. It is iinstalled and logs in to iCloud OK, but iCloud shows 'no devices'. I've uninstalled/reinstalled several times with no change. The phone is connected to the internet, FindMyPhone is turned on, and location services is turned on. What else can I do to get iCloud to find this phone???

Your phone should automatically re-appear in "Find my iPhone" when it next connects to the internet. There's nothing you can do to force it.
So, from that support document you've confirmed that none of the following are true:
The date on your device is incorrect. This can be set in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Your iOS device is currently off or not connected to a data network (Edge, 3G or Wi-Fi). Wait a few minutes and try again.
Your iPad (Wi-Fi only), iPod Touch, or Mac is currently off or not connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Location Services is not enabled on your device in Settings.
You are located in a country where Apple does not offer this feature. This feature may not be available in all countries due to technical limitations or local law.
Have you tried the age old troubleshooting tip of turning the phone off and then on again?

You can only locate, lock or erase your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

An iCloud email account is an IMAP account. With an IMAP account, all server stored mailboxes are kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account. If my ipad was stolen and i havent signed up for find my ipad app will it show the device offline and pending lost mode still?

wondering if i never signed up for the locate my ipad app if it would show my stolen device as offline and pending lost mode or if that means that i did sign up for it and just dont remember?

If it is showing up as Offline and also shows Lost Mode as Pending, then you did turn on Find My iPhone. Otherwise, you wouldn't see the device at all when you went to Find My iPhone in iCloud. If someone turns on the device and connects to the internet, then your pending Lost Mode transaction will process, and a lock code will be placed on the device. It will also show up on the map to show you the location.
However, if it does not come back online, then you won't be able to track it, nor will the lost mode command execute.

TS4036 my ipad wifi cellular 16 GB 4G switched off inbetween and is not switching on at all. I have tried to restart by using sleep/wake button, but red slider does not appear. I have recharged battery, still no response. what should i do?

My iPad Wi-Fi cellular 16 GB 4G switched off suddenly, even when the battery was 40% available. It is not switching on again, i have tried restarting by using sleep/wake button, but red slider does not appear. I kept it off like it was overnight, in the morning agin recharged it, but still it is not switching on. it is not responding, except when i connect the charger, it gives a blink noise that recharge has started. I removed the SIM and tried restart it but no response, What should i do to restart it please?

Seems to be working again, I haven't done anything though. And the "wifi" led on my laptop is off, which should mean that the interface is down.
This is driving me crazy I don't understand how the all thing works, if anyone has any tips that would be very nice.

Hi, Just wondering if the mini ipad are unlocked. Example l decided to go with Bell and then change provider and now with Fido, can l just pick up a Fido sim and activate mini ipad. Thanks inadvance for your help.

Why ipad or ipad mini has no calling facility when wifi cellular is mentioned in specifications and also why do they never provide calling facility for their tablets?

The term cellular means cellular data only, there has never been a telephone capability built in to the iPad WiFi+cellular models.
You must arrange cellular data coverage with your cellular carrier or another cellular carrier to use the cellular data capability of the iPad.

I lost my ipad, in the icloud it said that there are 4gb back up, how can i view the backup? or its impossible to view the backup unless i get back my ipad? am i able to view it on a new ipad?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
When you set up your new iPad enter your Apple ID and choose the option to restore from a back up.
If you have already set up your iPad, go settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings and then opt to restore from back up when prompted.

Neither IPad nor IPod a showing as Device in ITunes since yesterday. Have the latest ITunes version installed on my IMac. Please help?!

Bootcamp 3.2: Microsoft Virtual WiFi MiniPort Adapter shows "device is not working properly...Code 31"

Using Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter shows the "device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31).".The device is the Apple iMac10,1 All-in-one computer. Right clicking browse files (for the device) shows the Bootcamp (C:), DVD (D:); and my external hard drives can be selected.
Internet and WiFi connections all working ok. Am also running MacDrive 8 to access the Mac drives when in the Windows partition, again without any seeming issues.
Updating the driver simply generates another Code 31 error.
Appreciate this seems to be a known problem - is the a solution a novice use might be able to follow or should I simply ignore the error message?
Driver Date us 21/06/2006 and Driver Version is 6.1.7600.16385.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 4-1204tx Ultrabook and issues with WiFi adapter is not working properly. Error codes in Device Manager in Windows 8.1 could be fixed by deleting any extra drivers. So I would uninstall all that is listed in the Network drivers in the Device Manager, restart the Notebook. Here is a list of Device Manager options, this might help.
