I lost my iPhone 4 and had the Find My iPhone app installed
The Find My iPhone app was enabled. I tried to locate it as soon as I realized it was lost and I was unable to locate it. It says the iPhone is offline. I have tried locating it every day for the past week and have had no luck. Could the "finder" of my phone simply logged out of my itunes account and is preventing me to track it?
There's a number of things they might do to keep it from being tracked, including deleting your iCloud account if you didn't have a passcode lock set on your phone.

As long as you enabled it when you first activated your Iphone, it's pretty straightforward. Using any computer, go to icloud.com. Sign in with your Apple ID. A screen will come up with a map showing the general location of your phone. If you have a friend with an iphone and are logged in using Safari, when you get close, you can tell your iphone to make a sound. Good luck.

Apple will not track it for you unless with Find my iPod. Again, whether you have the app or not doesn't matter, I believe you still had the service enabled. It doesn't hurt to try. http://icloud.com, click Find my iPhone after you sign in.

I unfortunately just got my IPhone 4s stolen.I thought I had the find my iPhone enabled but I didn't because I cannot locate the phone when I sign in ICloud.I have a password on the phone but i'm not sure if I turned on the option where the phone resets if you incorrectly put the password more than ten time. I immediately called my phone company (Verizon) and reported the phone stolen.So I know whoever took the phone cannot place calls or use the phone. But can they still access my data on the phone if they manage to unlock the phone? If so how can I erase all data on the phone so the thief can't access my personal information? is there any other way other than Find my IPhone to wipe off the data on the phone? I really don't want my personal information such as pictures, text messages, notes and social networks profile available to a stranger!!? Help please!!!

You are able to activate an old device and process an insurance claim for your iPhone 4s within 60days from the incident date. Keep in mind if the old phone is not a smartphone and you currently have unlimited data that feature will fall off. If you have a tier data plan no changes will be made. I do not use iCloud and I do not have the 'Find my iPad' app installed. What can I do to find it? Is there another way to bring up a map of where it is?
I dont know the opperating system but I only got it recently...
I also have a mac book pro also without iCloud.Without Find My iPad having been enabled on it then there isn't any way to locate it - and that would only work if it's connected to a network and hasn't been wiped or had Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also contact your carrier and change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc. -
Is there any other way to find and iPhone besides using the find my iPhone app?
Been trying to find my iPhone using the find my iPhone app and have had no luck. Also added the AT&T Family Map and have had no luck. It just makes me so mad that somebody you thought was your friend would do something like this. Can anybody HELP!! Would really appericate it.
From what I have read, you obviously have an idea or are sure who has your device? As roaminggnome says, report to the police, and give them this information if you are sure of it.

My iPad was lost today. I am using the Find My iPhone app, but it is not showing on the device list or the map (though my iPhones, even one that is not iCloud enabled, is). What can I do?
The only thing you might do is enable Lost Mode, which will allow you to set a passcode on it (as well as a message and phone number where you can be reached) so it will be locked when and if it does go online. You can also receive an email informing you if it goes online so you can track it on icloud.com. See http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f0165.
In the meantime, you may want to change your passwords. -
I bought an Ipad 4 for my wife and iPad Air 2 for my daughter and I have just bought a Macbook Pro with retina display for me. The whole family is an Apple products fan due to its reliability and security. Never know that it could be a disadvantage also. I bought a second hand iPhone 4s from a friend as he is short in caash, and I've been using it for awhile. I "restore and upgrade it" without thinking or checking the Find my iPhone settings, unfortuately it is turned ON. Although the previous owner removed the phone lock, I never asked for his icloud account as I intend to use the phone only for calling. I cannot contact him as his contacts and email address were erased when I restore the iPhone.
I have learned a hard lesson since Apple security is impregnable, my iPhone 4S will just be an expensive paper weight.no.

Hi . I have forgotten my new passcode on my iphone and also have the find my iphone activated! Is there anything I can do to fix this? I started to restore it on my computer but it won't let me go past the find my iphone activation part. also i am wondering if there is something beginning to go wrong with it as i cannot switch it off and it only gave me one chance with the passcode before it activated? sadly you cant, the only option you have is to put into recovery mode and restore device. look for article ht1808 here on apple site

Today I lost my IPad and was FREAKING OUT !!!!! When a couple of store attendants told me to use the ICLOUD find my Iphone option in order to erase all the content just in case it fell into wrong hands. Within an hour via survelance video we located the ipad prior to being able to connect to internet and erase everything.
Now I am keeping the power off keeping it untouched or unerased, QUESTION TO COMMUNITY???? Is there a way for me to successfully avoid the erase process that is due to occurr once I power up and hit the WIFI???? Appreciate any input up front, BRfromGRYou cannot prevent it from being erased now. But surely you backup with iCloud or iTunes and/or sync with iTunes so when you get the iPad up and running again, just restore from your iCloud backup, or your iTunes backup and then sync with iTunes again and you will be OK.
If you don't backup or sync .... Well then you should probably think about doing so in the future. Out of the mouth of a Apple ......

If you said you have Find My iPhone installed, you can access that from any internet connection. Just log in at http://www.icloud.com and go to the app.
Apple won't help you directly.

Help me please I want to make sure the thief couldn't open the phone and the apps and the music since it all carries personal information and are very important to me. How do I make sure the phone can no longer be used for anything?
If the carrier blocked it, that just means the SIM card in it can't be used to make calls or access the data network.
A 4 digit passcode can obviously be broken. How easily depends on the code you used and whether the thief knows anything about you. In all likelihood, the thief couldn't care less about your data. They want the phone, which has real monetary value.
Next time, turn on Find my iPhone.
