Go to icloud.com from your computer, sign in and click on Find My iPhone. Select the phone on the Devices list and see if it displays on the map. Then put it in lost mode as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f0165.
If it doesn't appear on the map, but shows as being offline, change your iCloud password so no one can delete your iCloud data and take over your account: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617. Lost mode will be implemented if and when it goes back online and you will be notified by email.

They then put the phone on restricted service. A day later one of my friends / contacts in my phone received a call from a person who was at Newport Village and had found my iphone. The unknown person wanted Miles (my friend) to meet him at Newport Village so he can return my iphone. Unfortunately my friend was not arround to meet this unknown person who found the phone. Miles (my friend told this person that he could leave the phone at the local IGA only feet from Newport Village. I went to the IGA but to my surprise the phone was NOT there. I immediately installed the app "Find my iphone" when I first bought this new iphone 4S but everytime I check it, it says that my device is not on. So I'm wondering what the best way I can go about finding my iphone. I was told by my Telus rep that I could relay a message to the iphone offering a reward should he return it to me. Please if you can help me in any way, I would be eternally greatful. I'm on disability and on a fixed income so simply replacing the phone is not an option for me.
<Email Edited by Host>If the phone is offline there is no way to track it or send a message to it. You can place it in lost mode to lock it and send it a message (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0f0165), but this will not take place until the phone goes back online, if it ever does. If it does, you will get an email informing you.

You need to use the Find My iPhone app (in the itunes store - free). When invoking it on a device, you enter the ID password of the account the lost device is connected to. You can also use a computer's browser and log into icloud.com.

i just got a new iphone 4 for att and my friend installed the sim card in it for me. the imessage function isnt connecting with the my cell number. a while back i had logged into my apple account on someone elses cell phone and their number keeps showing. when i try to just select my number to send and recieve imessages from it will not show up. i can send and recieve regular text but not pictures or imessage. i have tried logging off and restarting and nothing has worked.help please!!
Did you remove your account information from the other person's iPhone?

Unless you had enabled Find My iPhone on it before it was lost then there isn't any way to locate it (it can only be turned on directly on the phone, it can't be done remotely). If you did enable it then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPhone disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc. -

Try closing the App Store app via the iPad's taskbar and then do a soft-reset and see if you can install it after the iPad has restarted. To close the App Store : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -

You do not need to download anything. All you needed to do is go to Settings>iCloud and turned on the FindMyiPod feature. If on and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud, sign in and click on FindMyiPhone.

Restoring the iPod will permently delete the Find feature.
Otherwise report to police, look for it the old fashioned way and change the passswords for all accounts used on the iPod.

The ONLY thing you can do to turn off Find My iPhone is to have the correct password. There is no way around it. You can get help with the password: If you forgot your Apple ID password

Did you set it up on your iPhone prior to it being lost? If not, then it wont find it. Otherwise it requires the iPhone to be powered on and have an internet connection and location services turned on to be found. If somebody restored it via itunes or the settings menu, then your account info is no longer on the phone and it'll be impossible to use "find my iPhone" to find it.

I lost my iPhone 5 on Saturday and have been doing everything to find it. I accidentally remove the device from the Find my iPhone app so I can no longer try to locate it. Is there any way for the device to be re added so I can find my phone?
Only way to track it is if you had find my iphone installed and activated prior to losing your phone.
Then you can go to icloud.com to track it.
If you didn't do the above, then sorry nothing you can do to track it. Report it to your phone carrier.
