I lost my iphone !!!
Hi,
today i've got stolen my iphone 5, which is sad for me.
2 guys were threatening that if i don't give my valuable goods, they will harm me.
I was afraid, so i had to give them things. There was my iphone as well.
Right after that i went to police station, but they said they can't help with that(i don't know what's wrong with them ! seriously !).
I wanted to go to apple store and talk about this situation, but it was already late that the store was already closed.
After i went back home, i've searched the way that i can find my iphone.
So i used iCloud. But since the battery was so low(i remember it was almost 3 or 5% of battery when i've got stolen), i think it's turned off. Or that guys turned off. I don't know...
So i cannot reach the location of my iphone for now.
I have guarantee for this, does it help to do anything with it ?

and how can i know the location of the device without turning it on ? i mean....is there anyway to find it back..? Any tips , please ?

You can find the backup files and then copy them to a safe place if you are worrying about this.
iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

If you removed the device from your iCloud account rather than using the "Stop Lost Mode" option, then you will most certainly need to restore the iPhone, and that will require a computer running iTunes.

As I mentionned in my question, I have lost my iPhone I'm feeling very dumb, it is the second time that this happens to me and I really need your help! I don't even know what happened, but when I arrived home after school, I didn't find my phone. The fact is that I was sure to have take it with me, but I haven't, as I see. I went on the apple site: "location of my iPhone" and they told me that my cellphone was out of service. Now, I really don't know what to do and what to think. I serched everywhere, in my car, everywhere in my house, I even went outside to check, but i live in Quebec and it is snowing a lot this winter, so maybe I just didn't see it... Anyways, I'm really scared cause I have 3G on my phone and now they say that I'm not connected to 3G anymore, neither any other internet service. I'm freaking right now. Does that mean that my cellphone is broke, stuck in the snow, or just somewhere that I'm never gonna find out? I'm imagining all the worst possibilities so if you don't want me to die soon, please, help me (try to reassure me if it is possible but if is not, tell me the truth anyways).

Voicemail is left at your carrier's server. That will continue to work unless you report your iPhone as lost or stolen with your carrier.
You may never find it again and you can't if the iPhone remains offline or out of service which means the iPhone is powered off or doesn't have cellular reception. -

No, you should not. There are problems trying to go the other way, but updating a newer iOS release from a backup of an older iOS release has always been supported and is the basic means of setting up a new device from a previous one.

If Find My iPhone doesn't show a location for the iPhone, then unless your carrier offers some sort of tracking service, there will be no way to locate the phone other than to just look for it. Notify the police in case someone turns it in and change passwords to your Apple ID and any other online services you used from your iPhone.

I've lost my iPhone and have not got the finances to buy a new one, investigating insurance options but only 6 months left on contract so may not bother, however I want to get all my info off iCloud but can't work out how to get it, I'm not very computer savvy to be honest.
You can only restore the backup to another iOS device. Also, Apple will delete an iCloud backup after 180 days of inactivity so it won't be there forever.

If you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted. The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync. You need to use different IDs. You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps. But use different icloud IDs.
