i just lost my ipod today at school i had it in my bookbag now when i looked in it agian it was gone. its like 20% it coud be in my locker but i think someone stole it or it fell out. the bad part is i had my internet connection turned off i do have track my ipod/ipone on it and my location servaces in on idk if there is ay way to get it back if not then ill just look for it on tuesday and maybe goto lost and found lots of things are lost in my school and like 80-90% of the are returned so if i cant find it do i just accept a lost? btw its my first ipod and its kinda getten me down a little.
Report it to the school authorities and hope for the best.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. Something as small as an iPod should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

How old is this Time Machine backup? Is it current?
To be able to use applications and your iPhoto library and iTunes library you need to restore them from the Time Machine backup. To get your photos back, you need to restore the iPhoto Library from your Pictures folder, and to reinstall the iPhoto application.

Did the Tech Guy not use your Time Machine backup to restore your Mac?
Since you already set up your Mac, you can use the Migration Assistant from Applications > Utilities to restore your old files to a new user account.

You restored your iPhone with iTunes from the backup for your iPod Touch?
If so, photos/videos that were in your iPhone's Camera Roll should have been imported by your computer before doing this. You could then transfer these photos/videos back to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process. -
I have an iPod whose contents I want to transfer to a newer Ipod. At some stage when I thought I was syncing correctly I wasn't so I lost the music files from my library. Is there any way to get them back from the older iPod and put them onto the newer one again?

If you had turned on the find my iPod, and it is on and it is in range of an open wi-fi network, then you may be able to get an approximate street address.
Otherwise, you would have to look for it as you would anything else that you lose. -

That doesn't sound like a wise thing to have done.
At this point having lost your software purchase, the quickest way will be to purchase and install it from the Mac App Store. It is not expensive and can then be installed on multiple Macs using the same Apple I.D.

If for some reason you have failed to backup your music, then - in the U.S only - you can get previous itunes purchases from the beta version of icloud. Open itunes store, click Purchased, under Quick Links. -

Thanks but have tried that - When I try to restore I get a -50 error and into a loop of taking another back up. I took a copy of the back up before the IOS upgrade and have it stored on my desk top but I cannot get Itunes to restore to that back up

In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
- Preferences and photos taken by the iPad are included in the backup that iTunes makes
