I lost my ipod today and i tried using "find my ipod" in icloud using my friend's ipod and i found out my location services was turned off. please help. i'm desperate. i paid for it and its the 5th gen. HELP.

As i said up there , i have lost my ipod touch 5th generation today. worst day ever. im 14 and i paid for it with my own money. $317!! i was so proud of myself. so i went to the mall and i put it in a bag and got home and went to the park behind my friend's house. now im not sure if i brought it with me to the park (dont think so) or it fell in my friend's room after i came home from the mall. but i seriously can not find it and im REALLY sad. i have been balling my eyes out throughout the whole day and me and my five friends including my parents and my friends mom have been looking for it. i heard something about telling the police or something and they would help?? i'm not sure about that. cause why would they wanna help a 14 year old girl find an ipod touch when theres other very important matters. Even though this is SUPER important to me, it may not be to them. ik this is all my fault. mother always said "dont leave it in your back pocket" and of course i do while i skateboard. wow. im stupid. i need to gaurd that thing with my life. its very expensive. please help. this ipod is like my life. it was logged onto instagram and facebook and a bunch of social sites. yes, i have a lock on it but cant they go to a store and say "i forgot my password" and they hack into it? i changed my instagram password and apple ID password so far. but i really need to find this ipod. tomorrow im going to the park to look for it in the grass. - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing

There is little chance of recovering your iPod. The police will do little. It it is turned then they can contact you.

Everything works on my ipod, but it will not turn off. It will play and pause but not turn off.

I too have had this problem. In fact it seems to be a fairly common problem, suggesting that it is an unaddressed bug.
Here's what you can try:
1. Reset your iPod by holding down the Menu and Select buttons simultaneously for 5-10 seconds. After your iPod reboots, see if it will turn off. If not:
2. Restore your iPod using iPod Updater, which you can download from http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ . Restoring your iPod will delete all songs, pictures etc and reload the iPod's operating system. If that doesn't fix it, you can:
3. Try a work-around. Can you turn it off using the Sleep menu option? If you don't see that in the main iPod menu, go to Settings/Main Menu and turn on the Sleep menu option. This didn't work for me, but others have een able to turn their Nanos off this way.
If none of these things work, your only option is to have Apple replace you iPod. You can do this by contacting Apple support, or by going to the Genius Bar at an Apple retail store.
Several people (including me) have seen the not-turning-off problem in conjunction with the Nano frequently showing a message saying that firewire connections are not supported. In my case my Nano became unusable because the firewire message would pop up so often that I couldn't navigate through the menus to get it to play anything. I took my Nano to an Apple store and the Genius Bar guy replaced it on the spot. Unfortunately the replacement also doesn't work (headphone jack doesn't work so I can't hear any music) so I will have to go back again, but don't let my run of bad luck prevent you from getting a replacement.

I suggest that you open iTunes and hold shift key whilst signing out of match. Now close iTunes and reboot computer. Launch iTunes and then turn on match. You will be asked to add this computer. Do so. Let match process complete.

Thought I would give this a shot before i take this mobo back to the store ....
Some insight to my reason for buying this mobo....My mothers ABIT kt7a-Raid quit powering any agp and PCI devices so I went out and bought her the K7T Pro-2 (MS 6330). I am using a AMD 1100 Tbird i beleive (its been awile and several puters since i built it for her) A1100AMS3B to be exact ....... I hope this is from memory w/o taking the h/s back off. I am using the same Alpha Heatsink/fan
Now the P/S does suck as the case was a cheapy deal but i have already set my true AT 430 on it and i get the same results.
With nothing pluged in no Vid, no PCI devices, not even the Memory or IDE for HD it boots for about 4 seconds with the LED going red-red-red-red at first to blank-green-red-red then the led b4 shutdown green-red on first 2 with last 2 red-red then blank-red-red-red then it shuts down automaticlly.
these results i got with all or just some devices plugged in troubleshooting diff things
so I am basiclly not used to having to spend 2 evenings id rather be playing games working on this thing and am to the point of taken her back to the store. Now i dont wanna trash the MSI board its just my second experiance with one and neither was impressive.....And yes I know this isnt a top of the line board but seemed to be the only thing i could find from my reliable local retailer.

Any chance your heatsink isn't fitted tightly on the CPU or that you have an extra snand-off shorting the board to the case where there isn't a hole in the board ?

Kazandjaz, Welcome to the fourm! There is a 99.5% chance that your problem is caused by a failed internal power supply unit (PSU)! If you have operated it for about 18 months or so, that is the cause. Take it to your nearest Apple dealer and ask them to check it out.

It's not Apple's fault that you can't have iOS 7 for your device.
It is simply the fault of your device - the hardware won't do it.
You should be glad that you just got iOS 6.1.5.

BIA - BIA was turned off for a set of queries by Transport?

Y'day we noticed that BIA was turned off for 36 queries recently. Normally when we turn off/on BIA using custom program, an alert will be sent out stating that BIA being turned off or on. We didn't receive an alert for 36 queries. And so we assumed that BIA was not turned off intentionally.
On further analysis, we found that our Test(QA) system has BIA turned off for the same 36 queries. We are continuing our analysis to figure out if transport played a role in turning off BIA.
Meanwhile I am posting this message to see if anyone had experienced similar issues.

I would envision the same and as a part of sanity check make sure the setting below are not tweaked..
you can switch off the BIA for a specfic query in transaction RSRT > Debug MODE>--> BIA Server, flag do not use BIA server
Or
you can switch off the BIA index for InfoCubes in the tcode - RSDDBIAMON2
BI Accelerator > index settings> Switch On/Off

I checked the content of my other back-up and found the bookmark Bookmarks.plist in the library under Safari
Dumped the existing copy in the computer and drag-dropped the back up. All bookmarks restored.
Solved the Stickies problem by using Spotlight to find file "stickiesdatabase" and did a drag- drop to replace file. All data restored.
Re Ical data loss. Used Spotlight to find iCal document in Library - Preferences where I found com.apple.iCal.plist in folder.
Got ready to make change but did not immediately remove file. When I returned to Preferences folder to grab above document,
the readable descriptors had been changed to code consisting of some upper case letters and/or single symbols!
So now I cannot tell which is the symbol iCal.plist

Should I wait for the 5th gen iPod Touch or keep my 64Gb 4th gen and not return it?

Bought a 32Gb iPod Touch and while it was being shipped I realized I'm going to need the 64Gb's if I plan on removing the music off of my 64Gb iPhone and putting it on the iPod and using my iPod as my music source. So I took it ot the Apple store last night and swapped it for the 64Gb. Well I got to thinking, this thing is just over a year old - a new one HAS to be on its way in the near future, right? Certainly they wouldn't go a full two years to refresh the iPod's with the A5 chips that have been out almost a year already. If they were to go with another September launch for the iPod but next year the A5 chip is almost irrelevant by then, A6 will be in the iPad 2S/3, A6 will be in the next iPhone ----- and then the old A5 would just be dropped into the iPod? Just doesn't make logical sense to me. I believe an iPod refreshment will be launched fairly soon, maybe a long side the next iPad release? What do you guys think? The way I'm just seeing it is that I don't really need the iPod right now, so that $400 credit could be used for even double the space the 64Gb has for the same price when the 5th gen launches? And whatever other bells & whistles the 5th gen will offer. I'd feel stupid for paying the $400 knowing I don't need it quite yet and that a refreshment could possibly be on the way soon. Thoughts?

When I called Apple (after wating 42 min. for a live person) I was told to run the APPLE Software Update and turn off location services then restart my computer. There were no available updates. The iPod touch I got on Christmas day. The iTunes app was downloaded the same day. Since day 1 I have not been able to connect. - Try another USB port
- Try on another cable. Again I doubt it will do anything
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
