I lost my Ipod Touch! Can you helpme find it please? (please read)

Long story short, I am 90% sure I woke up with my Ipod but when looking to leave the home I noticed it was not with me and it has yet to be found. Any advice you may have please give it, however, I need you guys to do something for me or at least tell me something.
I thought that if it was in the house it would be connected to the network right? I tried WinScp and looking at the devices connected to my router but nothing was found. I need to know if they Ipod touch constantly stays connected to the netowork even when locked for hours. Could anyone tell me this or test it out themselves? That way I can be almost certain whether it's in the house or not.
Many thanks in advance.

ipods only connect to wifi a few seconds after you wake it up
and when it goes to sleep the wifi turns off t conserve battery power
i tested this out last year and 2 weeks ago

I lost my ipod touch can i find it if someone uses it

If you set up the Find My iPod service prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).

    No app is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    iCloud: Find My iPhone
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • HT4205 cant find airplay on my 2nd gen ipod touch can you help ?

cant find airplay on my 2nd gen ipod touch can you help ?

What are you trying to AirPlay to? The AirPlay icon only appears if you have an AirPlay receiver ready to accept the media from the iPod.
Also, see the following. The 2G not hot have iOS 4.3 or higher.
From the Videos, iPod, Photos, Music, and YouTube apps on iOS devices, stream videos, music, and photos to an Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation), or stream music to an AirPort Express or compatible third-party device.
With iOS 4.3 and later, you can also stream video and audio from a website or a third-party app installed on your iOS device if the developer for the app or website has added AirPlay functionality.

I lost my ipod touch-how do I find it using Location services?

I lost my iPod touch in a club last Saturday. Was on, had a passcode on it but I didn't have Find My iPhone installed. I'm not sure if this is correct information, but an Apple store clerk said that I would still be able to track it if I had registered it with iCloud, which I have done
What you needed to have already done was to have went to Settings>iCloud and turned FindMyiPod on.
. The problem is, though, even if this information is true, how will I be able to find it? It's an iPod touch with no GSM/CDMA capabilities. Therefore, it cannot be found unless it was connected to Wi-Fi.
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. Thus, wifi has to be on.
But how would that be possible unless the person who found it knows my passcode?
Wifi just has to be on and connected to report its postition to you by going to icloud.com as explained in a previous reply.
I'm guessing that if the person wipes and restores the device, I will have no way of finding it... unless it works off the serial number?
If the iPod is restored, you can no longer find it via icloud.com. I uses turning FIndMyiPod on, not the SN,.
    Thanks.

  • IPod Touch-can you deactivate Internet?

    Good morning all you experts!
Quick question: Is there a way to somehow de-activate Internet access on an iPod Touch? My nephew wants one but my sil doesn't want him accessing wi-fi all over the place. Can you use the Touch without the Internet? Remove it? Lock it? Any and all answers will be greatly appreciated!!
    TIA

There are parental control settings on the iPod touch.
If you go into Settings > General > Restrictions you can turn off :-
Songs with Explicit lyrics from being played (if they are bought from iTunes)
    Safari - no internet access
    YouTube - no YouTube access
    iTunes - Stop purchases
Installing Apps - prevents the installation of applications

  • If you've purchased a certain colored IPod touch, can you switch the colors?

I've purchased a black IPod touch 4th generation and was wondering if you could change the screen color to white?

You can change the colour to white, you will, however, need knowledge of replacing a screen. When screens are cracked, they are replaced with another screen, one of the exact colour. You need to replace it with a white one. You can buy the digitiser on ebay, they are cheap, then just look up a tutorial on changing iPod Touch 4th Gen screens.

  • Lost my ipod touch but it has find my iphone installed on it

just wondering how do i get back my lost ipod touch through the find my iphone app? i couldnt find it on my lidt when i signed in to the app?

Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod.  If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number).  If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief.  All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself.  This requires action before the device is lost/stolen.  If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

  • Having problems with my new iPod touch can you help me a first time user?

I cannot locate my photos in the iTunes library, I have no problem with the Music entry, is there something I have to do to create a library entry?
Also I do not get the photo folders only the individual photos in one large file (3500+) good quality but not good for specific look up, again is there anything I need to do to have folder organization?
I'd appreciate any help that I can get, and would thank any particant in advance

Hi Kappy. I have located the photo files from the sync to my ipod, by the way I am a Windows XP user, and what is showing is a file called 'ipod Photo Cache' which contains folders which have the photo conversions of what is in my 'My Pictures' folder, this cache folder follows at the end of my photo library content.
The cache folder files have an extension of .thumb these are conversions for the ipod and appear to change when I delete or modify any photo in my library and to further complicate things these photos (.JPG format) have an intermediate conversion to a (.cpt format)which are contained within my photo library folders. None of this bothers me since I have my photos on the ipod which is of great value to me.
Thanks for your efforts on my behalf, I will now let this rest and proceed to other new challenges in the ipod world.

For free from Apple? If you cant locate it with the iCloud "Find my iPhone" feature. Nope. Change all passwords and report it to the police. Give them your Serial Number.
If you want another one - you have to buy it. Sorry.
