I lost my ipod touch. Is there a way the Apple Store can help?

I have heard that I can go to the Apple store and report is stolen and they can tell me if someone ha brought it in trying to use it, but does that actually work? If someone has brought it in an tried to restore it in a store, will the store be able to tell me who it is so I can get my ipod back?

You have heard wrong.  Like any maker of any device, Apple can do nothing at all.  Sorry.

i have lost my ipod touch is there any way to get it back. i had given pass code for my ipod touch

If you had turned on the find my iPod, and it is on and it is in range of an open wi-fi network, then you may be able to get an approximate street address.
Otherwise, you would have to look for it as you would anything else that you lose.

  • I lost my ipod touch is there any way i can find it

some one has stolen my ipod touch and it is dead. i cant find it on my computer what do i do?????????

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing

Since you said it is dead you will have to find it the old fashioned way like if you lost your wallet.

  • I have lost my ipod touch is there any way i can get it deactivated from using wi-fi?

I have lost/had stolen my ipod touch,i believe i no who has it but have no proof to report this to the police, is there any way i can de-activate it through Apple to prevent it from being used by anyone else to upload itunes or use wi fi? This may sound like a stupid question but it is very frustrating knowing who may be benefiting from my I-pod thank  you

No.  There is not way to preveent anyone from restoreng the iPod and using it themselves or selling it.  Apple will not help at all.
You should still report it to the police incase someone finds it and turns it in. Also change the passswords for all accouts used on the iPod.

Hook it up to itunes and check the version. If it lists in the info that it is 5.0 or 5.0.1, then your ipod has imessage.
If it turns out that an update is available, apply the update. Check your ipod version from Settings > General > About. Anything lower than iOS 5 won't have iMessage.

  • Did the iPod touch 5gen come out yet in Apple stores?

Did the iPod touch 5gen come out yet in Apple stores?

    I live in New Hampshire.
I am really enjoying the 5th gen. I have been using a 4th Gen since September 2010, and obviously the 5th gen is a much smoother experience. I have not had any issues with iOS 6, really. I had issues with it on my 4th gen, but so far no issues on the 5th gen.
Siri has been working well for the most part. I've had a few occasions where Siri will simply sit there and spin, finally coming back with an answer like 2 minutes later, but that is not common. This same issue occurs on my wife's iPad3 and my neighbor's iPhone5. I don't think it's anything wrong with the iPod at all, I think sometimes Siri just gets hung up.
The only issues I've had are:
    1) Safari has twice 'forgotten' my bookmarks. This was resolved by simply forcing the app closed and re-opening it.
    2) Only once, after coming home from being out, my iPod wouldn't play well with my router. It insisted I was connected to my router, but it wasn't able to fetch any data. I tried shutting off the wifi several times, re-establishing the connection, etc. This was ultimately resolved by hard-restarting the iPod.
Outside of those two issues, my experience has been VERY positive. I love using it in conjunction with my AppleTV and mirroring my screen up to my TV while using facetime. This way I can use my big TV screen for facetime.

  • My 4th Gen Ipod touch will not get past the apple logo

My 4th Gen Ipod touch will not get past the apple logo (unless the battery is dead, Then it tell me to charge it).  Once it gave me the connect to itunes screen.  I clicked restore in itunes but the ipod went back to the apple logo before the update download finished. I tried calling apple but my over the phone technical support just expired. PLEASE HELP!

This can be a corrupted software/firmware on your iPod touch. If the recovery mode you did was not forced, then try to force it into recovery mode. This is how:
    1. Force it to shut down (note: this sort of shut down should not be preformed unless you are in a situation like this because it is a hardware shutdown and will not attempt to unload software, save unsaved files, safely stop system processes, etc.) to do this, hold down the power/sleep button and home button for about 7 or 10 secs. Also I might be incorrect but I heard that you can just hold down the sleep and home button until the screen goes blank and then immediately let go.
    2. Have iTunes running. Hold down the home button and plug the USB cable that came with your iPod into it. Keep on holding on the home button until a picture of a USB cable going into the iTunes logo appears. You are now in a forced recovery mode. (In case your not so tech-savvy forced recovery is the same as a normal recovery mode that an iPod might do if it knows an update or restore failed.)
    3. iTunes should have shown a pop-up message about it found a iPod in recovery mode. Click OK, click your iPod from the sidebar and click restore. The iPod will show the apple logo for a while and iTunes will say "preparing iPod for restore" and then "waiting for iPod" this was the longest part of updates for me.
    4. iPod will reboot when restore is completed. When I update my iPod it one time showed the apple logo for one whole sync until it showed the slide to unlock screen, so do not worry. P.S if that does not work do a DFU mode restore ( I've been told DFU mode stands for device firmware update mode) I'm running out of room, so google it. Hope this helped ;)
