I lost my "LISTS"

While traveling a bit over 1100 miles I lost my "lists" and all my contacts in my iPHONE. In the "Recents" & "Favorites" complete phone numbers were still there but not contact names with the number. All contacts' name, address, city zip birthday etc are gone.  They ARE in my cloud, do I just "BACK UP" my phone and that fixes......I was afraid it would delete all contacts on my CLOUD.  tks g

Settings > iCloud > turn off all the items missing, Contacts, Reminders, Notes, etc..., if prompted delete from phone (to prevent the possibility of duplicates), wait for it to finish then turn them back on. This will force a re-push from iCloud.com.

  • Lost CONTACT list after SIM card change requested by operator

Dear All, this is my first post, so please bear with me.  I am recurring to this forum to ask for HELP on an issue that is really annoying, specially after spending over an hour with a BlackBerry Support Person who tried many steps to solve the issue without any luck [it was obvious this person did not have the technical expertise to handle the problem at hand].  Here's the story:  Last week I received on the mail a new SIM card with a letter indicating I had to replace my "old" SIM card with this new one, after receiving a text message from the operator.  On Friday I received the SMS and proceeded with the change.  Prior to exchanging SIM Cards, I asked the Call Center Agent if this would cause any problems with my 8520 BB.  The answer was NO, all the configuration info remains on the device, and not on the SIM card.  Well, this was not the case and some applications lost their configuration: email and contacts. Curiously, the BBM service was unaltered.  So I would like to know how can I get back my Contact List? (the email service was quickly and easily reconfigured).  Apparently my old Contact list is somewhere in the Device's memory... but a New Contact List has been created after the SIM Card change.  I know this because when I press the Call History, all the contacts' info is available ... but when pressing the Contacts Address I can only see 1 contact.  Any ideas???? Thank You All.

This is a fun little (and I mean little) problem. Let's walk through it here.
    1) Some applications lost email and contact configurations.
    A) I'm not entirely sure what you mean in particular as far as the email problem goes. Were the e-mails still set up, but you weren't receiving them? Most likely because the new SIM card contained a new ID number. If you were to go to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Tables, press the menu button, and hit Register...that should fix your problem there.
    2) BBM Service was unaltered.
    A) This is because the BBM service is reliant on the PIN number unique to your device (not your SIM card).
    3) Lost contact list, but still showing in the call history.
    A) Your call history is just data stored on the device, the only time your contact history is access when sending and making a call is just a simple check to see if you have the information stored already to match a name to it. The data stored in history is it's own entity. I explained this in a slightly confusing manner, but it's slightly irrelevant.
It's entirely possible that your contact list was stored on your SIM card and not to your device. Try this out:
-Insert your old SIM card into your phone
-Open up your contacts and hit the menu button
-Scroll down and select "SIM Phone Book"
-Here you should see the list of contacts if they were truly stored on your SIM and not your phone.
-Hit the menu button again, and choose "Copy all to Contacts"
Once the process is complete,  you may reinsert the new SIM card and continue on using the phone as normal.
    Hope this helps!
Disclaimer: I'm just a regular user like the rest of you. I have spent a lot of time learning the limitations of the Blackberries to know how to fix most problems. If I have suggested a fix, please give a kudo and mark as a solution!

  • I've lost my list of passwords. How can I read what's under the asterisks as text

AS I've lost all my written lists for my ipad passwords is there an app so I can read what's under the asterisks, or any other way?

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad/iPod into Recovery Mode

  • Lost Source List folders

In ITunes 4 I had carefully made folders with music I liked. When I upgraded to 6 I lost all source list folders. I have folders in my music folder but that is the default folders according to the name of the group and not my personal folders. Everytime I upgrade this happens. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to start all over again?
I don't think I am going to upgrade again.

The only place I've seen the folders matter (other than iTunes itself) is Front Row.
It would be nice to see these on my iPod.

  • Lost favorites list, other problems too

Since the latest update I've had a string of problems. The latest is that I've lost all entries on my favorites list -- poof! A couple of days ago, I lost all sound except in speaker mode. My phone would ring (okay, sound there too), I'd answer and I couldn't hear the person talking and they couldn't hear me. After restarting, resetting, I restored and waiting ages to resync. That restored my sound, but my phone startng asking for a password for voicemail. never did that before and I never set one up. Now the vanishing favorites. Are these things related? Is this a glitchy update? I really don't want to restore and resync every day.

Actually, correct that: I still don't have sound from my speaker. When I adjust the volume it says "(headphones)". So for some reason it thinks my headphones are plugged in when they're not. This after restoring!

  • Lost Calendar list view in iOS 7.1

    Hi.
I have an iPhone 4, and I accepted the update yesterday to iOS 7.1.
I now seem unable to get my Calendar app to display as I want it to display, as a list of events through which I can scroll.
I can get it to display a whole month with dots under each day number that has an even in it, and if I tap the icon to the left of the magnifying glass one at the top the icon becomes a solid square orange button and I see the events of that day underneath the whole month display, but I cannot get the whole month display to go away and just have my scrollable list of events back.
Looking at various help sites online suggests that, if I do as I describe above, the icon I tapped should change to a slightly different one, and that tapping that icon should take me to a true list view. But in my case that icon doesn't change; and tapping it simply toggles it between being a solid square button-icon that shows the month view with a day's events underneath it, and being text-only icon that shows the month view without the day's events underneath it.
Can anyone please explain where I'm going wrong please? I would really like to get myself back to a true scrollable list of events.
The full version number of my iOS is 7.1 (11D169)

Unfortunately there is no 'i' button for our gmail / google calendar so i can see the difference between my calendar and the one my wife shared with me. The icon (to change the color) only shows for birthdays and national holidays as shown on the Apple help site. I'm now using a different calendar app (Week Cal) since a few months that has that feature.

  • ITunes doesn't open, lost song list

My iTunes doesn't open for some reason, so I downloaded a new iTunes which works, but doesn't have anything showing on it. My music is on an external HD. How do I get the songs to appear on the iTunes again?
many thanks for anyone that knows!

    gta129,
Do you have iTunesHelper set to start up when you login? To check if it's in the list of login items:
    1. Open System Preferences.
    2. Click the Accounts pane.
    3. Select your user.
    4. Click the Login Items tab.
    5. See if iTunes Helper is listed here.
    Hope this helps,
    Jennifer B.

  • I have installed Firefox 5.0.1 and need administrator rights to run it and have lost my list of bookmarks.

Recently, I upgraded to Firefox 5.0.1. I now require administrator rights to run it. If I start Firefox with ordinary user rights, I am presented with an error message which says that sqlite3.dll is missing from my computer. This file is actually present in three locations on my computer. However, Firefox runs if I start it with administrator rights.
The spell checker no longer works, my list of bookmarks, which was quite extensive, has now disappeared. Also, my history has disappeared too. A security package which I used when
accessing my bank account has also disappeared. This was called Rapport.

    Do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Lost my lists after upgrading itunes10.6

    HI there!
I'm on my way to get insane! I've lost all my files after the last update of itunes. The message is that my itunes library is not compatible with the new version of itunes 10.6.
Since I've made this upgrade,I can't recover my ancient files!
I need some help please!! I'm a dj,and I use itunes to keep all my playlists classify.
Thank you for your help !!

As a DJ and a professional you must keeep backups of all your files and do so just before making any major changes to your computer's software, so there's no worry about getting things back even if they are lost.
First, are the media files themselves lost? Go to your iTunes media folder and have a look in the folders there for music files.
Assuming they are not lost, it is hte library file that is presenting problems.  Normally this should update without issue but who knows what is going on with your computer.  You might want to try this tip first before trying others:

  • How to restore lost favorites list and lost desktop icons

    see below

As well as having had this problem a couple of times on different machines, both immediately after upgrades, I also use the synch capability so that tab groups from more than one machine can be accessed from any of the others - a really useful capability. It's really frustrating to have lost everything and have to try to recreate things from history. It occurs to me that the contents of my sets of groups are stored on a synch server somewhere so they ought to be recoverable from the hopefully, periodic automatic server backups - only problem is, how to access them? unlikely to be possible at this stage!
In this context, a useful enhancement would be a capability to make user-created named backups of all current groups of tabs which could later be restored at will; any upgrade process should also automatically create such a backup for the user so that the problem of lost groups of tabs would be solved. In addition it would give users additional flexibility to create groups of groups - accessed by the save/restore mechanism - say for development, personal or social or whatever.

  • After updating to 4.0 I lost my list of auto-fill logons. How can I get back?

I used to have a feature that captured my logon ID's and passwords to that the next time I went to that site Firefox would auto-fill the ID and password. After I updated to 4.0, I lost this capability. How can I get it back?

    * Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
    * In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
    * In [[Private Browsing]] mode Firefox won't fill names and passwords automatically.
    * Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

  • Lost contacts list

lost all contacts in latest update. how can i retrieve them?

Check for locally created backups. Should be:
    Windows XP
    \Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
    Windows 7
    \Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
    Windows Vista
    \Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
    Mac OS X
    /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
Then use iPhone Backup Extractor to recover data and after easily import your contacts.
    Good luck!
