I downloaded a Christmas tree light bar, and in the process the menu bar disappeared.
Mozilla instructions begin with going to the Mozilla Safe Mode. When I try to go to the safe mode (using run) the window resets to normal.

Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.
Hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark. <br />
The F10 can also be used on most PC's to temporarily reveal the Menu bar.

What format is your problem clip? Are there wave forms visible in the section without sound?
Right click on the clip in the event broswer and choose Reveal in Finder; open the clip in Quick Time to confirm that there is sound throughout at that stage of your workflow.

Uninstalled Firefox completely (Using REVO Uninstaller)
Reboot
Re-install Firefox
...Ran MozBackup & restored profile

The problem was an add on: Hide Caption Titlebar Plus
Once I uninstalled that - the menu returned

You're welcome!
When you have a moment, give yourself a guided tour by investigating all the menus, one at a time. It will help you to at least remember that you have seen something, even if you don't remember where it was! I suggest to all my students to do that at least once. You can't really break anything...if you want to set up a "test site" you can even try things out as you go.

It is an eMac. I have a corrupted font book. How can I fix/re-install/or download a new font book app? Most fonts that were in it work, some do not, but I cannot open it nor can I install fonts into it. This happened after the eMac OS was upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.11 and AI was upgraded to CS2

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

I've lost the menu bar and want to get it back

I used the task bar to remove the menu bar and now it is gone and I can't use the menu to get it back. I've lost the web address bar everything so can't use the webpage. I would uninstall but it doesn't come up in my list of programs. I tried deleting the program and reintroducing it but it came back with the same lack of task bars. I was only trying to tidy all the gumpf fro the top of the page, not remove the functionality of the thing.

Something was down loaded yesterday and Ask Jeeves appears to have come with it. I can't get back to my orginal Firefox front page and have lost all my toolbars. I have uninstalled Ask but it is still there even though it has gone from my program list. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Mozilla four times but still Ask is at the front with everything else missing

I'm using BO XI and have lost the Menu/Command bar (File Edit View Tools, etc.) at the top of my desktop intelligence. I'm able to access the menus using the key stroke (e.g., Alt-F), but would really like to get them back.
I checked under Toolbars and Options, but have had no luck.
Does anyone have any ideas?

After a new installation of BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2, users are unable to see all the menus in Desktop Intelligence.
Cause
Resolution
Log on to Desktop Intelligence.
Press Alt +F11 to activate the VBA Window.
Press CTRL + G for the Immediate Window, if necessary.
Type the following in the Immediate Window: "application.cmdbars.activemenubar.visible = true".
Click Enter. Delete the folder that appears.
Log on Desktop Intelligence again.
The user can now see the file menu.

Does anyone know how to show the selected state of a spry menubar butten when that button is clicked?

Spry does not provided such functionality nativly. So either add a extra "selected" class to your menu bar your self, or create a small JavaScript that does it for you..
For example a script that read the location; This example uses SpryDOMUtlis.js
