I lost my music when my old computer crashed and did itunes on my new computer and can get it back
i lost my music when my old computer crashed and when i got my new computer it erased all my music from itunes and my iphone 4... Please help!!!
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

My computer crashed and I downloaded Itunes on a new computer and I'm trying to get new music and it says my Ipod is synced with another itunes library {my dead computer} and I can either erase and sync or transfer itunes purchases. Is there any way possible I dont have to erase my music? So frustrating.
Yes. I have no personal experience with this, but it is possible to recover your music from an iPod. See this link: http://guides.macrumors.com/Recovering_Songs_from_an_iPod

How do I transfer music on my old IPOD( click wheel) to Itunes on my new computer(Windows 8) for further transfer to a new IPOD nano
If you purchased all of the songs through itunes store, please follow these steps:
1. Open up Itunes and Click on Itunes Store
2. Once you're in the Itunes Store look to right side of the screen and you should see the word "purchased". Click purchased and you'll be sent to a purchase screen.
3. Click on "All Songs" and then it will show all the songs you've downloaded. From there you just hit the button that looks like a cloud with an arrow on it, and it will download all the songs all over again.
If you didn't purchase them through Itunes, then you'll have to download software that will strip the songs from your iPod onto your computer. And here is a guide about how to transfer iPod music. Hope it helps. Feel free to email me if you need further help.

My old computer crashed. I have purchased a new one and authorized it, but my music is not there. How do I get my music back?
Restore the songs from a backup, or use these instructions to redownload them through the iCloud if doing so is free in your country.

My iphone was restored to its original state and I lost all of my contacts and applications... any ideas how I can get it back??
Why did you restore without transferring your music to your computer?
If you are in the U.S., then you can use the newly released beta version of the cloud to get your music. -
My computer crashed. I now have a new one and I need to know how to sync my iPad without losing the photos, contacts, podcasts, apps, etc I have on my iPad. Can anyone help?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Some items cannot be redownloaded. You will need third-party software for them - Phone to Mac - Pod to Mac | Macroplant.com or Phone to PC | macroplant.com depending on your hardware.
You might consider modifying your profile information so we will know what your hardware, OS, etc. is. Makes it easier to provided assistance. -
My Laptop crashed. I had a full backup on Carbonite so the iTunes folder is there and downloadable. Is there any way just to import that and have iTunes on my new computer (Windows 7) recognize it?
Nothing gets imported. Simply restore the ENTIRE iTunes folder to the new/restored computer.
Download and install iTunes from Apple's website.
The first time iTunes is launched, assuming the ENTIRE iTunes folder is restored to the correct location, it will launch and be exactly as it was prior to the comptuer issues. If for some reason this does not work, close iTunes, hold the SHIFT key while launching iTunes and a prompt will appear to choose or create a new iTunes library. At this point simply point iTunes to the correct location for the existing iTunes library. -

Computer crashed no ipod backup of purchased items. How to get them back?
My old computer crashed. Before I did I copied my iTunes folder onto my portable hard drive, but I did not make a backup through iTunes, just by copying and pasting using Windows. My ipod is only an 8GB and is not large enough to hold all of the items in my purchased folder. So I can't back up and transfer using my iPod. The only way to access my old hard drive is to use this thing that lets me view it as an external on my new computer. So going back and forth with a little bit of files is not a possibility.
I want to everything to my new computer, but I only have the backup on my hard drive, iTunes seems like the only way to import my music is to go folder by folder, but the items in the purchased folder are all hidden.
Did I completely lose everything I downloaded, or is there a way to get it back? I copied my old itunes folder onto my new computer, but it won't even let my try to use my old libraries that were actually backed up using iTunes. It's going to take forever to go folder by folder to put my music back onto my iTunes, and if all the purchased files are hidden then how could I possibly get them off of my external?Ok. I sort of figured it out. iTunes had my up-to-date itunes folder hidden under a bunch of other folders, and with all of my purchased files only in this one place. Once I found the file that had all of the information it was fine, I was able to copy everything into itunes on my new computer. It just took forever to find because itunes thought it was being tricky by putting the folders in a weird spot.
There was no purchased folder though, so all of my purchased files are no longer under that part of itunes, which is frustrating. -
I have a new computer and have installed iTunes on it.

There is no way to stop iTunes from doing exactly what it is designed to do.
The iPhone is designed to sync with one and only one computer.
If you have moved/copied your iTunes library from your old computer to your new one, then iTunes wiping your device is no problem. You would simply sync and iTunes will put all the content back. -
i have almost 800 songs on my ipod touch and need to put it all on my new itunes on my new laptop, how do you do this?
The music sync is one way only - computer to ipod. The exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. -
My old computer crashed and my itunes is on a new computer, but my I Pad and other devices keep waiting for me to hook up the old laptop for updates. How do I make my new laptop (windows) my primary I Tunes acct.?
It does not matter what the settings are for your iPod. iTunes syncing generally works in one direction only, from iTunes library to iPod. You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store). However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer. If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links. (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library -
I recently bought a new computer becouse my old computer crashed. Now I can not sync my itunes account. I get an error when I try. It says that itunes will erase my phone content and replace with what is on the phone. I do not want to lose all my stuff so what do I do?
This is how it works.
Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -
Hi i wanted to transfer the music from my iphone to the computer with out erasing from my phone then when i called techinical suppost he told me to click transfer purchase (my name) and now the music i bought in itunes that was on my iphone 4 is all gone how can i get them back!!
Is the music not on your computer?
You buy one and only one download.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception, but they are under no obligation to allow.
