I lost my my ipod touch (generation 3) - i only had music and photos on it - no mail enabled.  i am wondering if someone finds my ipod and tries to use it, will they be able to download the photos to their computer?

i lost my ipod touch (gen 3) it had only music and photos on it. no mail enabled but passlock off.   i am worried if someone finds it, they will be able to download the fotos by connecting to a new computer and not syncing but just downloading.  that is the case, right?

There are ways to get content off the iPod from another computer, yes. Someone has to know a bit about what they're doing, though, but it's not horrendously difficult. So it is possible that someone could get your photos.
Regards.

AFAIK, this is beyond the capabilities of FCPX/Compressor. This company makes a plug-in, which I have to say I have no experience with. Here is a thread that may give you some other ideas. Good luck.

  • If I restore my iPad using iTunes, will I be able to save the data on my iPad that had not been backed up?

If I restore my iPad using iTunes, will I be able to save data on my iPad that I had not backed up?

No. There will be nothing to restore without a backup. If you can  backup - meaning if the iPad is not disabled and it is still working - backup first and then restore the iPad.
Is there some reasons why you can't backup first?

  • Ipod touch generation 2 ~ I can't send or receive emails from my gmail account.  I have gone back to factory settings and updated the device. It will not take my password.

I have not used this Touch iPod for quite some time and thought I would use it for collecting email when I am out.  I have wasted a lot of time trying to get this to work and now wonder if the 2nd generation is too old to send and receive email.

I am using imap on all my other devices.  I use a Google domain email address.  The only divice I have that will not sync is this older generation iTouch. The version without the camera. Model PB528LL.  I know my email address is correct and the password works everywhere else.

  • The SSD on my MacBook Air failed and I lost all of my files and information. Will Apple be able to put the music and photos from my iPad onto my computer since the SSD failure was on them?

Because the failure of the SSD was not in my hands, will Apple help me avoid the inconvenience of restarting on a new computer by using my iPad to get music and pictures back on my computer? It's still under warranty and I feel that Apple should do this for me since I paid $1,500 for a computer that is supposed to be reliable.

    Drop the sass, dude.
What I'm asking is will they be able to rip the files off my iPad and put them on my computer instead of leaving me in an unfortunate situation which wouldn't have occurred in the first place. I understand electronics fail all the time, but will they help me get back on track by taking my iPad's files and ripping them onto my Mac?

  • If i download photoshop onto my Mac computer now will i at a later date be able to download the same photoshop program onto my mac laptop? Or is it one program to one computer?

I want to download photoshop i have a lot of work i need doing but i only have this computer for a few more weeks before i get my new laptop. I will still need to use photoshop, will i be able to download photoshop again and use the same serial number i paid for or is the product only useable on one computer, meaning i will have to buy it again? I don't want to waste money.
    Thanks

You are allowed to have the software installed and activated on two machines.  Additionally, you can always deactivate an installation and reapply the activation to the same or a different machine.  You should never have to purchase the software again as long as you only need to have it working on two machines.

  • My pc died with (stupidly) no external backup, save iTunes Match. Will I be able to download my itunes library to a new Mac?

Hello! I am new here! Here is my question: my pc just died with my iTunes music library. Foolishly, I had no physical external backup, but am a subscriber to iTunes Match. I plan to purchase a MacBook Air ASAP. Will I be able to download my music to my new MacBook from the Cloud? From there, I plan to copy all to an external hard drive (like I should have done in the first place!). Any info will be most appreciated! Thanks.

Yes. As long as all your songs you lost have been Matched or Uploaded to iTunes Match you can download your entire library from the cloud.
It might take some time though

  • If I move my iTunes content such as movies to an external hard drive will I be able to delete the content off my iTunes on my computer?

I have a macbook air and I am having an issue with space.
When I rent a movie most times I rather just buy it because its sometimes only a few extra dollors more but im having the space issue.
If I transfer my itunes files to an external hard drive will I be able to delete the movies off my computer after so I dont have a 100% full hard drive, and if I delete the files off my itunes on my computer will I come to a problem when I plug in the external hard drive and go to watch them?
    please help!!
    thank you so much!

If you have a router with a USB port (I have the AirPort Extreme with a USB port, for example) you can hook up just about any hard drive to it and have it recognized on the network. But first I would consider what you want your backup scheme(s) to actually do... personally, I use three backup schemes - I've two Time Machine drives to backup my internal drive, I've three clones of my internal drive, I've one clone of my Thunderbolt 2TB 'working' drive, and I regularly backup to dual-layer DVDs (not full backups, just archived material).
So you need to use one or more backup schemes - at least two for your internal drives (Time Machine and a clone) and one for archival purposes. A Time Capsule would be perfect as a wireless Time Machine backup and you can purchase a small (well, at least the size of your internal drive) external drive to make a clone copy. Time Machine offers incremental backups (a plus when you want to go 'back in time' - at least to a time within the space limitations of your Time Capsule) while a clone gives you a 'snapshot' of your internal drive from the last time you cloned. Both have their advantages, which is why I suggest using both. For purely archival purposes, however, I use DVD - I've been doing this for over a decade now and haven't had one fail yet.
So those are your basic options - a Time Capsule would work great for wireless Time Machine backups, but i would also keep a clone and use DVDs for archiving data.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • HT1296 Hiya, I am thinking of buying my first Apple Ipod the new 32gb Ipod Touch. Will I be able to import the music that I currently have in the form of CDs and other music not purchsed from Itunes and if I can how do I go about doing this? I have heard

Hiya, Im thinking of buying my first ipod the Ipod Touch 32gb model. Will I be able to transfer the music I currently have stored in the form of CDs and already on my laptop onto the Ipod and if yes, how would I do this? I have heard from some friends that Apple and Itunes is notoriously limited in the types of formats that are accetable? I dont want to pay £249 on an Ipod only to find that Im locked into buying all my music from Itunes and I cant use the music that Ive already paid good money to buy from other sources. Many thanks for any help and advice that you may give me?

Many thanks JEM24 for your help.  Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone  the actual cost of each additional  gigabyte of storage  to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. Many thanks again though for helping me.
