I lost my Ps Icon in my Dock.

I know this souds really weird, but I can not find the Icon ( the blue Ps icon ) that was in the dock.  The Mac is running OS X , and Photoshop CS3 .  I was dragging some folders over into the trash , and my Icon made the little puff of smoke, and it was gone.  I have checked in the applications menu, and all of the other stuff that is in the Photo shop file is there, but the actual program is gone.  The help files, extra generic pic files, all of it, but the program itself is gone.  I went just thinking I would go into the applications, pull up PS and drag the icon back into the dock, but no doce.  My indesign and illustrator still work fine, and the PS app is not in the trash.  I dont use PS all the time, but obviously, I want it back.  I have used the spotlight, and it only pulls up the other things in the PS files, but not the app itself.
Any ideas?

Just run the uninstaller and then reinstall from the DVD

Help I have 'lost' my downloads icon from the dock on my desktop Mac. Can I retrieve it? If so please describe how, using simple terms. I have tried searching folders, finder and trash

Your Downloads folder should be in your Home folder. Just drag it to the Dock.
If you've managed to delete it, try creating a new folder called 'Downloads'. You will probably need to nominate it in Safari or any other browser preferences as your download destination. (Safari Preferences>General, 'Save downloaded items to:' menu)

  • I lost my download icon from my dock. How do I get it back?

I lost my download icon from my dock. How do I get it back?
    Thanks.

It was tricky, because one should click on finder itself, not finder preferences, where the download icon is actually movable. So I was able to move the icon down to the dock.
But now it doesn't have the same view as before. Now it looks like a folder with downloaded files in alphabetical order. Before it was showing the latest downloads in the way the Mac computers only do, the curved way (can't describe it). Anyone knows how to bring that back?

  • Lost my "applications" icon from my dock. how do i get it back?

how do i get my icon named "applications" back to my dock? i'm pretty sure that was the name of that icon...it was the one where when you opened it, it would show all the other icon apps like slingbox, angry birds, etc..thanks!

open finder.  on the left hand side you will see the name "applications" under favorites.  Drag and drop the name "applications"  over to where the folder was before

  • I've lost my Launchpad icon in the dock

I've just upgraded to Lion, and unfortunately I already had an app installed with the name "Launchpad" - A Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011 login tool.
As a result of this I think I caused a conflict with the name being identical and I don't have the new "Launchpad" that came with Lion.
How do I get Apple's Launchpad back in my dock?
I have an Aluminium iMac (Intel) which is just over a year old.

After an in-place upgrade of 10.6 to 10.7 (GM) the OSXLaunchpad does not work and does not exist if the Microsoft Windows Homeserver2011 add-in for Mac was installed previously in 10.6.
When starting Launchpadfrom the apps folder or dock shortcut the Microsoft version of the Launchpadapp is started instead. The Apple version of Lauchpad is nowhere to be found.
Steps to Reproduce: Install Microsoft Windows HomeServer2011 connector for MAC in OSX 10.6. This installs an application calledLaunchpad from Microsoft. Now if 10.6 is updated to the GM version of 10.7 theMS Launchpad application is still present, instead of OSX 10.7 Launchpad. Evenif the MS Launchpad was removed from the dock previously, it is put back again and notreplaced with the new OSX Launchpad.
Expected Results: Either the Microsoft Launchpad should bereplaced or (preferably) the Lion Launchpad should co-exist with Microsoft’sLaunchpad and be present instead or in addition in the OSX dock.
Actual Results: Microsoft Launchpad is put (again) into thedock, OSX Launchpad is nowhere to be found. The dock and app icon look like theMicrosoft version and if started it really is Microsoft’s Launchpad which wasinstalled as part of the Windows HomeServer Connector before the Lion 10.7upgrade.

    Hi [email protected]
I would recommend doing an uninstall and then upgrading to the latest version:
    -> Clear Cookies & Cache
    -> Clear the Network Cache
-> Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
    • Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    • Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    • Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Check and tell if its working. Hope that helps.

I have Mac OS10.4.11 with MS Office 2004 for Mac, installed. Yesterday, when clicking on the Entourage icon, in the dock, to receive my Email, the icon disappeared and I lost my Email service from the HD and from Spotlight, as well. Word, Excel and PP are still OK. Could this be a virus?

Just thinking, if things are really missing...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Tiger Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

  • Hi, I was importing pictures into iPhoto from my sd card and suddenly iPhoto quit.  Now it just won't open.  When I click on the iphoto icon in the dock, nothing happens!  Does anyone have a solution to this problem please?

Hi, I was importing pictures into iPhoto from my sd card and suddenly iPhoto quit.  Now it just won't open.  When I click on the iphoto icon in the dock, nothing happens!  Does anyone have a solution to this problem please?

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?
If it does then your current library has been damaged and should be repaired: apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start
with Option #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Help-lost all my icons at bottom of screen

I hit something and I lost all my icons. I don't know if that is what they are called really. The little pictures at the bottom of your comp. when you turn it on. They help you get to itunes, iphoto, firefox, ect,. Does anyone have any idea how I get them back? I was trying to force quit when I lost them, if that helps. Thanks.

Open the Dock pane of System Preferences and turn off the option to show or hide the Dock automatically; one of the other settings affects where the Dock appears, which should be set to the bottom. If the issue cannot be fixed from System Preferences, choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, enter /System/Library/CoreServices/ as the folder's location, and double-click the item named Dock there.

  • I've lost my Downloads icon. Its not even in Finder, so I'm baffled!! A little box shows up when I am actually downloading stuff, then disappears. Where has it gone?? CCinNZ

I've lost my Downloads icon. It's not in Finder or anywhere else I've looked.
Has anyone found the solution as to where it goes.
I simply want to drag it back to my Dock.
    Help.

Not Lost, just leave a downloaded Application or pdf in it and it will stay on the safari tool bar..
Downloaded files e.g.from Mail stay in the downloads folder in your home account in finder although this can be changed in Safari preferences.
