I lost my recently added list

I deleted my recently added playlist subheading
Now when I add a new track I have to find it through my songs which can be a pain as I forget which tracks I ve recently downloaded
Does anybody know how to recreate the 'recently added' list

Does anybody know how to recreate the 'recently added' list
It is pretty easy.
Click File > New Smart Playlist...
When the dialog comes up, enter a single rule "Date Added" "is in the last" "2" "weeks."
Check "Live Updating."
Click OK, and you're almost done...
That new playlist will now show in your left hand pane with a name something like "untitled playlist."  Click it once and give it a better name, like for example "Recently Added."

  • I lost my "RECENTLY ADDED" LIST AND CAN NOT TRANSFER SONGS

I deleted songs from the this category and the category disappeared.
I updated the ITUNES with 7.02 but no change.
    Please assist me.

Recently played is a Smart playlist.
    File -> New smart playlist.
Set it to Date added is in last 2 weeks (or whatever you want).

  • I lost my "recently added" file and can't get it back.

I lost my "recently added"  folder and can't get it back.

If the "recently added" playlist is no longer visible under your lists of playlists, you can just make a new one and set it with the parameters below.
In iTunes, go to File, New Smart Playlist. In the dialog box that appears, change the settings to look like the one in the screen grab:
These are the exact settings from my default recently added smart playlist. Customize to your liking.
    Hope that helps...

  • How to delete duplicated m4a file in "Recently Added" List in iTues?

I followed the instructions given by WICLEE and managed to customize my Ringtone but I couldn't delete the duplicated m4a file (after created a AAC file) from the Recently Added list where i selected the music for downloading. However, i managed to delete the m4a file from Windows Explorer and uncheck the deuplicated file when i sync onto my iPhone5 as a new Ringtone, it worked.  Can Wiclee advise how to delete the unwanted m4a file from the list?  Thanks much.

It will disappear from the Recently added playlist after 2 weeks.
Or you can edit the Recently added playlist to include ONLY music.

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Don't want songs on Recently Added list

I purchased some older songs that I want on my iPod but not on my Recently Added list. I want to keep the Recently Added songs as current hits, but the older songs in my library. I tried unchecking them in the Recently Added list but then they are unchecked in the library as well. Any ideas?

    Hi
Yea, the unchecking thing isn't to recommend.
However here's one thing you can do:
Right-click on the recently added playlist - then enable the 'limit to' number in the playlist rules. You can set it to the last 25, 50, 100 or whatever number you like. Klick OK and you're done.
You can always go back and change the numbers afterwards if you like.
Here's an image to show you more specifically what I mean:

  • HT1711 My recently added list isn't updating. What's wrong?

The Recently added list is not updating on my iPhone 4s?  What is wrong with it and how can I fix it??

Highlight the Recently Added playlist. Go to the File Menu. Select Edit Smart Playlist. Make sure that Live updating is checked. You can change the Date Added to whatever makes sense to you. If you add a lot of music everyday, you might only want it to be set to 2 or three days. If you only add music occasionally, you might want it set to some longer interval. Hit OK.

  • Songbird Damaged iTunes Meta Data and Recently Added List. Best way to fix?

    Hello, Apple forums.
A while ago (Long enough to fix some of the broken Meta data), I tried out Songbird as an alternative for when I'm gaming and want a little extra resources.
Unfortunately, I set it up to sync between iTunes and Songbird, and Songbird "updated" my iTunes information and removed META data in the process for any song played on Songbird.
It also had the recently added moved to "Songbird > Recently Added," and proceeded to fill it with every song in my library.
My music is stored on a Western Digital MyBook external HDD (320GB) formatted to FAT32.
I have fifteen playlists, and would like to retain ratings and play counts on the songs.
My library reads "8196 songs, 19:15:40:31 total time, 50.13"
Granted, a couple hundred of these are the ones missing the META data and are broken entries (IE has all the data listed but does not have the file where it should be) and their META-less version added from %library%\music\unknown artists\unknown album\
(The tracks retain their real name with the track number prefixing them, it's just a matter of going through all of the songs and matching them up)
Given that this is as it is, how should I go about this?
I would also like to keep the apps for my 2nd Gen iPod Touch (iOS Pois0ned 4.2.1).
All music is either imported from a CD or an independent artist.
I don't have access to all of the CD's, nor do I particularly want to manually re-add everything.
I am more concerned with the recently added playlist being fixed! I understand that I will have to cut my losses on the META data!

I thought you said Songbird had removed metadata. Most files carry metadata in a tag. If a file "goes missing" because another program chooses to relocate it iTunes will retain an entry in the library with all that information. The FindTracks script makes a bash at locating the moved files in a number of alternate locations, including the unknown artist/unknown album folder or the main Music folder. If the files have actually had metadata removed, but have a tag, then iTunes will read the damaged data and update itself. Not necessarily what you want. For files that are in a logical artist/album layout but don't have tags you could be better off repairing tags first with, for example, MediaMoney's AutoTag from Filename feature.

I had to look up RAT. I'm guessing you meant something like remote admin/access tool. By all means be wary of anything recommended on this site but to accuse me of being underhand without any evidence is hardly the way to start a fruitful conversation. I thought you wanted help here...

  • Lost my recently added playlist

hey yeah so i accidently deleted my whole "recently added playlist" how do i get it back??

    Welcome to Discussions Justina.
Simply create a new Smart Playlist with no rules, but with 'Limit to' set to a number of songs of your choice, and the 'selected by' option set to 'most recently added'. Make sure 'Live updating' is switched on.
You can create this type of playlist by selecting rules as well, but the above suggestion is one fairly simple way of doing it.

  • Lost my recently added folder

I accidently deleted this folder now I cant find where the new songs I import go. I uninstalled and reinstalled but the folder did not come back. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You can always find your newest songs by sorting your library by Date Added.
Also you can go to File > New Smart Playlist and create your own recently added playlist according to rules you like: everything in the last 4 weeks, 50 most recently added, or whatever.

  • I've lost my 'recently added' playlist

    hi,
i've accidentally deleted my 'recently added' playlist, the one that was underneath party shuffle.
is there any way i can get this back?
    hope so, thanks,
    scott

    franciscoandre,
Just how do I do this. I did it once before and can't do it now. I'm using iTunes 7. Does that matter?
In the top line I have set it to "album" "starts" "8/18/06." I have typed in several other choices including added after, after, date added after 8/18/06, etc. I don't see anything I can click on that refers to date. If it's not clear I want to create a smart playlist that contains everything after 8/18/06. Please help! I also don't see anywhere I can click on "Live Updating." I have put in 500 items as I have added a lot of material since then.
    Thanks
    Carl

  • I deleted my recently added list

How do I get it back?? Furthermore, how do I modify its preferences?

The default playlists but they are just Smart Playlists and you can recreate them. In iTunes go to File>New Smart Playlist
    Recently Added:
Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
    Check the box "Live Updating"

  • IPod Recently Added list

Can this list be cleared without removing the songs from the iPod?

Nevermind, I realized that this was a dumb question. (i know, there's no such thing as a dumb question. Trust me, there is such a thing.)

  • Lost "Recently Added"

As the title suggests I seem to have lost the Recently Added playlist from iTunes. I deleted the contents but that seems to have taken out the list as well.
Any idea how I can get it back, please? I just need to be able to see anything I add in the future.
    Paul.

Just create a new Smart Playlist with the criteria of "date added" + "is in the last" and then however many days back you want it to look.

  • Lost recently added playlist

i lost my recently added playlist, does anyone know how to add it back to my smart playlist?

If you lost it on iTunes on a computer, choose New Smart Playlist from the File menu and create a new smart playlist which lists items added in the last 2 weeks, excludes podcasts, and is live updated.
