Anyone have this happen to them. They are of a family member we lost a few years ago and I really would like them back

I NEED HELP!!!!! .
I recently had my iPhone 5 stolen this week whilst on Holliday. I am currently waiting for a new one thru insurance but today I got an iPad so thought I could restore all my stuff from my phone onto it. When setting it up I logged into my icloud & itunes account and restored from the backup I did on my iCloud ( on my iPhone) last week. Most things were restored ( I.e apps, contacts etc) but none of my 2000 photos were. These photos are all of my baby since the day he was born so really don't want to loose them. When looking at my iCloud memory it says its still pretty much full which must mean they are on there somewhere but just don't understand why they haven't transferred. People said to turn on photo stream but that hasn't worked. Was considering resetting iPad and starting again but really don't want to risk loosing even more data. There must be someone out there with a solution!!! Please help meeeeee xxx

Photos from an iPhone backup cannot be restored to an iPad. This is one of the "cross-device" limitations when restoring from a backup (see "Can I restore my iPhone or iPod Touch from a backup made from my iPad" here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4036). When you get your replacement iPhone, make sure it is running the same or higher version of iOS as the one you lost, then restore the backup to it and you should recover photos and videos that were in your camera roll when it was backed up.
Also, don't rely on your backup for your photos. In the future, be sure to import them to your computer for safekeeping as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

Lost photos on iCloud

My iphone4s was stolen on vacation in Europe. Only two photos taken on the trip showed up on my ipad2 and imac. All were set to receive photo stream.
What could have happened that all the photos were lost? Thanks for any insight so it doesn't happen again!

When you delete photo stream photos from your phone, they are deleted from iCloud and all your other devices/computers. iCloud doesn't store photo stream photos, it syncs them.
You also can't use iCloud to free up space on your phone. All your iCloud data is also on your phone. When you delete data from your phone that you are syncing with iCloud, it is also deleted from iCloud.
If the deleted photos were in your camera roll when you last backed up your phone, restoring the entire backup should recover them. Otherwise thy're gond.

Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

You can log into your iCloud account on another computer or device and enable photo stream to see your photos. You should do this as soon as possible because photo stream in the cloud only keeps photos for 30 days and each day you delay, you will lose another days photos.
Photos in the camera roll...
If you kept a back up of your device you can use it to restore to a replacement device, this will restore all of the photos in your camera roll and isn't time limited.

Photostream keeps your photos for download to other devices for 30 days, once they are gone, you can find them on other devices that you have enabled photostream to work with. So if you have Computer, and use photostream - they are in photostream folder in pictures or iphoto. If you didn't use computer, they are gone.

What a crappy design. This is where Android is so much better. It seems to me like you have no control over your iPhone. It does whatever Apple has designed it to do without asking you first. On Android you can actually go in see all folders, document files, photo files etc and you have so much more control of everything. Apple s..cks!

Not unless they were in your camera roll when you lasted backed up. If they were, restoring the backup should recover them.

I got the new iPhone and back up all the photos to iCloud from my old iPhone. However, I dont know that there is 30 days rules. So, I didnt save all of my iClouds photo to my new phone. You used the free Photo Stream feature of iCloud (1,000 photos held for 30 days) and did not backup your "Camera Roll" to iCloud.
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes. Click on your phone in the Devices heading (left side) and see if you used iTunes to make a backup. If you did you can restore from that backup and get all of everything that was on the phone.

Does anyone know how to get photos from iCloud back on your iPhone?

I was having issues with my iPhone 4 not charging anymore. I went to the apple store today and ended up having to buy a replacment phone. When I was going through the set-up, I tried to do an iCloud restore but wasn't able to as the new iPhone didn't have the latest iOS 7 update. I asked the technician if I went through the set-up as a new iPhone if I was going to be able to retrieve my photos later. She said yes. So I proceeded the set-up as a new iPhone and the only thing that restored was my contacts. Am I able to somehow get my photos from iCloud and put them onto my new phone? Or are my pictures lost for good? Please help! Thanks in advance.

Are you referring to both Camera Roll photos and Photo Stream photos? If so, then you would need to do a restore of your new phone from your iCloud backup:
RESTORE FROM ICLOUD BACKUP
If you are just talking about Photo Stream photos, then once you have your iCloud account signed onto your new phone, and you have turned on Photo Stream, then the last 30 days or 1000 photos should download to your device once you are connected to Wifi. It may take some time.

When I updated my IOS8 I thought I lost my photos, so I have restored my iPhone but after restoring I have discovered that I lost all my photos, please advise how can get/ retrieve all the lost photos specially since I didn't do backup?

If you backed up to iCloud, you might be able to choose from more than one backup. Each backup made in iTunes on your computer usually replaces the older one, except if you use a backup to restore from. Go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices and check if there are more backups listed, which you can then use to restore.

You photos are not automatically backed up to iCloud and there is no way to view your photos at icloud.com from a browser.

Are you using iCloud Photo Beta?
If not, have you been backing your device up to iCloud regularly?
When you reset your device, did you restore it from your last iCloud backup?

How to recover my photos from icloud?

I reset all my settings because I was having issues with my Iphone volume. I can't seem to access my photos or recover my photos from icloud. How can I recover my photo's from icloud as that is where they were being backed up.

First, check if their physical footprint still exists. Go to Settings > General > Usage and check the amount of storage available, do you notice that there is a lot of used storage ? You can also check it through iCloud, which might show used memory labeled as Other.
I lost all my pictures and videos after jailbreaking my phone, yet iCloud showed that they are still taking physical memory (labeled as Other - iCloud did not recognise my pics or vids anymore). This means they cannot be viewed via Camera Roll but they are still stored in the phone.
To fix that, download iFunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com ) and use it to locate and extract the images from the phone (no need for iCloud to access the phone). I managed to extract all my photos from the iphone to an external USB, which accumulated to over 20GB of photos and videos.
Use this method and you should recover your photos and videos with no previous backup. If your phone shows that there is a lot of empty storage, then your photos might have actually been completely removed.

You can't access or view photo stream photos on icloud.com. You can only do this from an iOS device or computer that is syncing with your iCloud account with photo stream enabled.
Also, videos are not uploaded to photo stream; only photos. Camera roll videos are included in your iCloud backup, but are not synced to your account.
