I lost the Bluetooth feature on my MacBook.

I recently had huge problems with my MacBook that required going to the Apple store 3 times in one day... Anyway I got all of my problems fixed BUT now I look at the bar on the top of my screen and there is a line through the Bluetooth icon.

My Mac also tells me that I don't have Bluetooth activated or installed on this computer.

I was wondering if anyone could help me with this problem?

Reset your SMC. Shut down the computer and remove the battery. Hold the power button for five seconds. Reinstall the battery and restart. Your problem will be fixed.

It happened roughly fairly well, except that I HAVE LOST BLUETOOTH.
Indeed, my mouse and my keyboard no longer work with Bluetooth.
I note that when I select the design of Bluetooth in the toolbar above: it is stated: Bluetooth is unavailable.
If I go to the "MENU APPLE the PREFERENCES SYSTEM", in the list of available MATERIALS "CD and DVD", "Keyboard and Mouse", "Energy Saver", "Monitor", " Audio ", but I miss BLUETOOTH icon that I used on my last version of OS 10. 4. 11.
In an upgrade to OS 10.5.3, a Bluetooth icon has disappeared.
Yet if I make a search with "SPOTLIGHT" calling "Bluetooth", I observe that I find in: preferences given by Spolight SYSTEM: System Preferences; Bluetooth, Sharing, and keyboards and mouse.
If I click on "Bluetooth"
You can not open the window of preferences "Bluetooth" because the application is not currently at your disposal ....
I am embarrassed.
Please, can you tell me, what can I do for return the Bluetooth feature missing.

What really cheeses me off here is that Apple isn't allowing users enough customization. With each update of iTunes (and the OS and iOS) we're forced to give up something that worked well for the way we want to use the app and make do with fewer (and lamer) options. If Apple keeps this up, they're going to start losing customers fast. I mean if this isn't fixed soon, I'm pretty sure I'm going to give up on iTunes, and then I'll probably go ahead and get a Galaxy when I need to replace my iPhone.
What I don't understand about how they won't let users delete the list of available podcasts now is why? How is this making it a better program? I can understand that not all users are capable enough to right-click on a feed and select "Show all available episodes", so I can see why they want the complete list to be the default (and, surprise, it already was). But to not give users the option to delete that list? It's inconsiderate because it makes navigating feeds with a large back catalogue really frustrating. I'm flabbergasted that no one at Apple considered all the podcast feeds that keep hundreds of episodes available when they removed this feature. It smacks of rank incompetence.
What improvement were they trying to make here anyway? There was nothing wrong to my mind about how podcasts were managed in previous versions. Whatever improvement they were trying to make here, they should have realized that many users would at least want the option to keep things the way they were.
And reverting to a previous version is no solution. I can't sync my iPhone with the new iOS without this update, and (while I do have some issues--specifically how you can't play podcasts in the Music app anymore) I do like the new iOS.

Remove the iPhone from the list of devices in the car. Remove the car from the list of devices in the iPhone. Turn Bluetooth off on the phone and reset the phone. hodl the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and release. The phone will reboot. Turn the car on and put the radio into discovery/pairing mode. Turn Bluetooth on for the iPhone which puts it into discovery/pairing mode. The two should see each other.

I've always been able to minimize all my windows by double clicking the title bar. Yes, I could click the yellow button -- I just want the old feature back because I do it so automatically. Now when I double click the title bar it opens a new tab. I was able to do this with all the previous versions of Firefox as well.

Using the bluetooth feature in my car

Is there any way to use the provided ear buds microphone in my car to change the current song? Currently, if you plug the earbuds into the microphone jack it cancels the built in speaker and pauses the bluetooth. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance,

This happens when I am driving, and my wife, using her Iphone, accesses Google.com. Once she is on the web site, and she types in her search, it activates the phone on the Navi system, and the screen on the navi system says "talking".
I have a Blackberry, and it is also paired with the car, but we make sure only my wife's Iphone is connected when the happens.

Lost the Touchscreen Features on Palm Pixi

Good HP Support colleagues,
I have lost the Touch screen capability on my Palm Pixi device. I have tried to reset back to factory settings as advised through this forum and am now presented with Just Restart or Erase All Data and I am unable to get past this screen given the inability to touchscreen either command. Is it a case that my device is doomed? Welcome a response to confirm or deny and what the next course of action is? thanks in advance

Try pressing the following keys at the same time:
Opt - Sym - R
This should initiate a restart.
Another way to restart is pressing and holding the Power button, then slide the ringer switch back and forth 3 times.

Explain to me why I cannot use my iPhone & iPads Bluetooth with other phones & MacBooks

So basically I want apple to explain to me in their logic why they have such a limitation with the Bluetooth on these devices. Earlier today, my partner connected her Nokia n8 to her MacBook Pro, it paired nicely with no errors or issues. So I decided to connect my iPhone to her MacBook Pro and then to my surprise it said that this device was to supported. I laughed at the fact that a Nokia N8 could connect to a MacBook Pro but a iPhone couldn't. Anyway, this is a Issue but the biggest issue that I find in which doesn't make sense is the fact that I can't connect my iPhone to any other phone via Bluetooth. This limitation in my mind is pointless.
Why can almost every other phone on the market communicate to any other phone on the market via Bluetooth but my iPhone can't? To be honest I have always been an android fan, due to open source reasons only. I have always liked the simplicity of the iPhone but the 3.5" screen always made me turn away from them. The latest instalment from apple with the iPhone 5 was appealing. Quick dual core CPU, beefy GPU, 1GB of RAM, great wireless technology, beautiful camera, nice & comfortable 4" screen. There is no denying it, it's a great device. So I took it up And got one, and to be honest I wasn't disappointed. But this Bluetooth limitation is ridiculous.
Please release a firmware update to remove this limitation. I am sure I am not the only one out there that finds this a inconvenience.

You're not talking to Apple here, this is a user-to-user forum. You can send some feedback to Apple on this subject but my guess is that it won't change anything.
I believe that Apple have decided that the Bluetooth feature is there to support bluetooth headphones (so you can listen to your music wirelessly) and some peer-to-peer gaming, but that's it. The lack of bluetooth for sending your music to another device prevents copyright infringement, so perhaps that's why it's like that.
As for your point about bluetooth between your iPhone and your Mac, why would you need it? Syncing between iTunes, either by USB or Wi-Fi does what's required, so there is no need for bluetoothing files between them.
Although we're not supposed to speculate about Apple decisions here, it's pretty clear to me that copyright infringement was high on the list of reasons why that particular version of bluetooth has been used.

Macbook pro mid 2012 and the airplay feature does not come up. it comes up in itunes but not on the menu bar or in the displays settings. What can i do?

I just bought my macbook pro 2 weeks ago. I am new to apple so it is pretty much greek to me at this point but I have been able to figure out or google most of my questions. I have found a million posts about the Airplay feature for mirrioring and most of them are the same issue having a mac that is pre 2011. There should be no reason I would not have the Airplay option on my system.. I have done the updates avaliable for both the mac and the AppleTV unit, which is a Gen 2 or 3, Also brand new as of 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know what else I can do or is this something I will have to take in the the Apple Store to fix?
