I lost the last 3 days of bookmarks when I changed my settings....any way to retrieve them?

I went into the Options settings of Tools and changed some items (cookies..and other that I don't remember), thinking it would just change from then on, but it deleted ALL recent bookmarks that were in open windows and....don't know what else. I'm just starting to remember what I lost....

I think I did that, not realizing it would delete ALL recent (past days) history. I thought it would only delete the last few hours or the whole day....I actually wasn't thinking. I am so used to being able to undo anything I do, and was shocked I haven't found a way to undo that time period (even System Restore...nyet).
As far as "Bookmarks bookmarks", I think it deleted the recent organizing and adding of bookmarks. I'm not sure, as I have so many saved, that if a lot disappeared, I wouldn't know what they were. But I was just doing some science research, left all tabs open to reappear the next day and POOF....all tabs/bookmarks are gone. ick.

To see if there are any backups of your device on the computer, go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
Moving the mouse over the listed backups will tell you to which device they belong.
If there is no backup of your phone listed, your data is gone.
In case you also used iCloud to back up your data, check this article:

If I understand you right, try this,
Go to Mail > Mail top menu > View > Customise toolbar > then drag the address book icon back into the top bar.

I suggested contacting Compub in Nassau St as the info is priceless and worth the trouble of trying to regain?
Any thoughts? The poor lady is very distress

If she has backed up her iPhone she can replace that iPhone and set up the new iPhone from her backup.
You can put the iPhone that went into water into a plastic baggie with either new silica gel packets (preferred) or raw rice and let it sit for  4 - 5 days. After that time remove the phone and connect it to power for at least a half hour. While it is still connected to power reset it by holding down the power and hold button, wait for the Apple logo then let go of the buttons. Might take several tries. If it revives immediately back it up.

My hard drive was replaced. All my bookmarks are gone. Is there a way to retrieve them?

If you do not have a backup of the files on that old hard drive then your Firefox and other personal data is lost.

Problem solved unchecked back up to icloud and backed up to my computer, which then allowed me to untick the songs that were physically on my iphone (when iphone connected to computer) that I didn't want. Synced again and voila!!! Only files I want are now on my iphone . This has been bugging me for weeks, determination certainly paid off. Sometimes I think having problems is a good thing, you learn heaps trying to solve an issue

  • I  just lost all of my calendars on my mac. Is there any way to get them back?

I just tried to sync my calendars on my mac to my Android phone using SyncMate, and all of the calendars on my mac are gone. However, they are stil on my ipod touch, atleast the last several months worth of events are. There was a lot of important information in there. Is there any way to get them back onto my mac? They were not backed up to a disk or on Mobile Me (my fault). Any help will be much appreciated. THANKS

Restore the phone from a backup made when they were present.

  • HT4528 I lost all my contacts and info on my IPHONE is there any way i get them back

I lost all the info on my IPHONE can i get them back.

If you had the information backed up, as is recommended, it's fairly easy to get them back on your phone.  If you back up to icloud just go to Settings>General>Reset and Reset all settings.  Restore from a previous iCloud backup.
If you used iTunes, connect the phone to the computer and restore.  When it prompts you to set up as new or restore from backup, choose to restore from backup, choose your backup, and you should be good to go.
If it was backed up in neither of those places, it's probably gone.  But you can try iTunes sync, and possibly contact your carrier.  I know my carrier was able to get most of my contacts back from a database that they use.  But I don't if all carriers use those or not.
    Good luck!

  • Lost work on pages when computer crashed...any way to retrieve data

My granddaughter had spent three days on a written report on PAGES. She was doing other things on the computer, probably listening to music, which made her computer crash. When the computer was restarted we could not find her report. I need help! She is very upset! Can someone please make me a hero?

    Hi,
If the machine's linked to iCloud, the document could possibly have saved it itself to iCloud prior to the machine crashing, although I cannot guarantee this as I'm not entirely sure if Pages for Mac implements this feature, however on iOS devices it automatically saves whilst you work.
Head over to iCloud.com and sign in to see if there's anything there under the Pages app.
Good Luck! Let me know how it goes.
    Thanks,

  • Updated operating system and the ipad4th gen froze up and restored it's self and now I lost all my photos and videos from over a year ago,,any way to recover them?

system restored it's self after a recent operating system upgrade 8.0 and kept shutting down and restarting ,asked to be linked to my mac ,,so I did and it totally reset it's self ,all my apps ,photos and videos are gone from the day I bought the ipad...looked in itunes and I cloud and they are not there,,is it possible to recover all my photos now after a complete restore has happened?

Do you have a back up?
If not you're into using file recovery software like  File Salvage - you can download a free trial and it will scan the disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.
There are other such apps. Search on Macupdate or the App Store

  • While on facetime the other person can tell when you are getting txt, any way to stop this?

On facetime other person kept asking whos texting you??

Alternately, just pay attention to the person your on Facetime with and wait to text until your done. Then, both people get you full attention and no one gets jealous.

  • IPhoto (most recent) just crashed while uploading photos.  It tried to fix itself and in the process erased every single photo.  Is there any way to retrieve them?

While uploading my family Christmas photos, my computer went completely blank.  When it started back up again, I had a message that iPhoto had been damaged and needed to be corrected.  So I let it restore and it took several minutes.  Then I had a message that it could not find any photos or data and it restart the computer.  If that didn't work it said to push "option and command" buttons while starting iPhoto.  Nothing worked.
It appears as though I have lost thousands and thousands of pictures including all vacations, last moment s with my father, kids entire childhoods.  The photos are invaluable.  I understand that they are on the hard drive.  I have had to restore everything from the hard drive once when my laptop was stolen and I lost about a third of the photos because they came back damaged.  I hope this is not the only solution to the problem.
Does anyone know how to restore iPhoto or retieve my photos? What happened?  I am guessing iPhoto is not a reliable place to keep my pictures anymore.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a back up?
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
