I Love Apple TV

I just got an ATV last night. Installation was a snap - took like 2 minutes. Hooked it up via HDMI to my Phillips 37" LCD HDTV. Plugged in an optical line to my Denon 1801 AVR. Connected to my wireless network, then to my iMac easily. I encountered no problems whatsoever.
I'm most impressed with two things - the quality of the stream from iTunes on my iMac (which is located at the opposite end of my house), and the quality of the HD picture in some of the HD podcasts I've viewed. The picture on my TV screen is excellent. I can't wait for HD rentals!
I haven't synced anything to the ATV, so I still have 37 gigs free and more content than I can view/listen to streaming seamlessly from an iMac and now a Windows XP box (with our photos on it).
At the moment, I couldn't be happier! Thanks Apple!!!

like i've said before, the wireless connectivity reliability and speed of AppleTV is frighteningly good.
Or it gives the impression of that. I think some credit must go to the excellent H264 encoding, very high quality, small file sizes, with just a lot of cpu grunt required to do the decoding and encoding.

the only way that anyone would be able to see anything at all on your phone is if they knew your apple id password, or they were looking over your shoulder
if you are concerned that someone may know your apple id password, please change it at appleid.apple.com

But, please, when are you going to do something about iCal and its Reminders component? Attaching documents is clumsy. If you’re on iCloud, as I am, repeating events is impossible. The ability to copy text or graphics into either events or Reminders doesn’t really exist. This is an easy fix. Why not get it done?

I love Apple! (Network printing fixed)

There's a reason why I've stuck with Macs for over two decades, and it was reinforced today. Yesterday I upgraded to 10.6.1 from 10.5.8 on my late-2006 MB. I ran a test of my apps (I'd already updated any that needed it) and ran a one-page test for my printer, a Canon Pixma MP800. Everything was fine -- temporarily.
When my husband came home, he noticed that he couldn't print from his newer MB, still on 10.5.8. Hmmm. Then I discovered that I could no longer print, either; both of us use the same printer, which is connected to my AEBS by USB cable and isn't even in the same room as my husband's MB. Hoping for an easy solution, I quickly upgraded his computer to 10.6.1, but no joy.
This morning I called Canon, who told me to test printing when connected directly to each of our computers. That worked, but it wasn't going to be a long-term solution, of course. Canon told me to call Apple.
I spoke to one tech who really tried, but he couldn't figure out the problem. He said he'd research it and call back in an hour. Well, he didn't call, but now I had a case number, so I called again. This time, the tech I spoke with immediately pushed my call to the network section, where I spoke with a wonderful tech named Megan. We ended up completely eliminating and redoing my wireless network to take care of a couple of problems I didn't realize I had, and then I heard the very sweet sound of my printer warming up and spitting out a test page! That worked on both computers, so we're once again in business.
I do love Apple!

I would like to give kudos to apple for their superb customer service. I shipped my phone off for a replacement and got it back in two days. I love apple and I will be a fan for a very long time!!!

A while ago I complained that my standby time equaled my usage time. Some people equated this with last software update. Today I took my phone to the Apple Store, and the replaced it with a new phone. Yay! I love Apple.

Apple itself does not respond to questions on the Apple Support Communities forums. Responses come from other Mac users like yourself. We don't know what Apple plans on doing but I am not sure the iPod Touch has the computing power to do Siri.

I love Apple but...

I have been in love with Apple products since I bought my first computer before college nearly 6 years ago.
However, as a d/Deaf/hard of hearing person I find the fact that Apple does not provide the option of closed captioning on ALL of it's TV and Movies both depressing and demeaning. FREE services like Hulu provide captioning on many of their programs and after emailing Hulu thanking them for providing captioning I received a response within an hour. The Hulu people even promised more captioning.
But when I try to legitimately buy an episode of a TV show via iTunes, I can't find any that are captioned. I know iTunes has some captioned movies.
One would think that a huge corporation like Apple would 1. follow federal laws regarding captioning and 2. try to make customers happy.

It must be very frustrating to to be able to get CC on all the movies and television shows. However, you need to understand that the movies aren't Apples. They are provided by the various movie/television distributors (Sony, etc). Hulu is completely owned and controlled by NBC. You should complain to the movie companies.

I want to remove ios7 on my iPhone 5. It was a mistake to try to look like windows8, in my opinion. I naught app PC for my church; it has Windows 8, and we all hate it. It is pale and cartoonish, my wife can't even see how to unlock my phone by spelling my pets nick name. It has been my experience that people by Apple to get away from Window and Android. Speaking for all the people I know with Apple products. Yes!!! We still think you are pretty.

Absolutely Love Apple's Wireless Keyboard

Just wanted to say that I just picked up an Apple Wireless Keyboard and the Wireless Mighty Mouse this past weekend at my local Best Buy. I am absolutely blown away by how cool the Wireless Keyboard is. Not only is it a work of art, the keys have a tremendous tactile feel to them, with just the right balance of spring. The wireless mouse is cool too, and I also purchased a really thin mouse pad from Allsop that is like a thin sliver of plastic on my desk.
I highly recommend the Wireless keyboard and the Wireless mouse.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the new keyboard design. Unfortunately I had to opt for the Wired version as the key layout on the Wireless is quite cramped!

We love apple email, but it does not play wall with other venders when you want to use your own domain (lags, disconnections, etc.)? What vendor should we use to make it push and work well? We want to stay with Apple Mail.

Help, our AppleMail does not play well with other Vendord to use our own domain. iCloud mail works great, but so far others we have tried lag, disconnec, etc. not nearly as good as icloud mail. Should we try exchange or office 365 plans with Apple Mail/ a lot more expensive?

Microsoft Exchange is the best business solution, Office 365 will give a hosted version that works well, as you noted it is not the cheapest. You should also look at Zimbra, an excellent service.
